The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.
There is a reason why casual players are having a blast in STO, while the rest are cursing their lives for hardcore content drought. Most players don't take things too seriously, and they're not interested in min maxing or to become too heavily invested in figuring out how things work.
PvP is light years away on their radar, it's too hardcore.
Okay that's nice and all. Going the route the Wii isn't a wise idea, as casual players tend to move on to something better at a moments notice. Sure They're raking in money now, but how long is it going to lasts? Ignoring the hardcore players is the complete wrong way to go. If they want to cater to a bunch of candy crush playing losers, then go ahead. "Yay Fun! Yay, ohh look something better." *uninstalls the game*. Okay who's left now? riiight...
Who ever this gecko guy is. Uhhh 'lead designer' or whatever clearly doesn't know what faction diversity is, clearly doesn't know what balance is. Honestly this is a one faction game. Catering to one crowd and giving a big middle finger to the other is not how I do things personally. It's why PVP is unbalanced also. It's just How I see it. No offense. I just want a better STO, but it just gets worse.
Hint:
It's hard to understand your game if you never play it... Every Dev should read that line. Make some time, and play STO's PVP.

It is enough to present to the playerbase, "Hey, we have PvP." It will never be worked on to the point PvP becomes the main selling point of the game. I hate using the word never, I hate absolutions. But when I say it will never be in the state some hardcore PvPers want it to be in, I mean never.
Someone a long time ago compared to STO's PvP experience as riding bicycles with flat tires. A bicycle with flat tires is what one might compare to a minimally viable product. Sure, riding on the rims isn't all that pleasant, but for what a bicycle is made for, it can still accomplish the result.
It's okay to enjoy riding bicycles with flat tires.
It's okay to enjoy a minimally viable product.
But it's unreasonable to expect Cryptic to ever devote a fraction of their budget and labor hours to PvP. I don't care what they said in the past, it's not going to happen.
I'm pretty sure I've got a couple of dead horses I can bring out if you really want. For now though I'll be over here spamming brace for impact in preparation for pvp in X2.
A) Many of us are keeping tight rein on ourselves due to the recent modding crackdown.
Even if that were not the case, what is the point of getting all emotional about it? Why do we need to 'stick it' to anyone? IMHO, it's not even worth responding to something like this.
C) Not to mention, this is a game. Of course it's pointless! It's just pointless entertainment. PvP is no more or less pointless as anything else in the game.
D) Why overdramatize things when there can be a reasoned, balanced discussion?
Anyways, here's my opinion on the subject: There is no justification for PvP to be removed. There are many things that are neglected in-game, but you don't see anyone clamoring for the Foundry to be removed. I simply accept that things will not get better, but I still have fun. After all, is that not the only purpose of a game? If PvP was not fun for anyone at all, then sure. Drop it. But there are still those who have fun. And in the end, that's all that counts.

Always had to laugh hard about you're "I'm da best man!" comments.
especially after you're 10th time "I'm quitting STO" whine. But damn you're still here.
There is no best and there will be no best - but true its nice to have some confidence.
If you say you're best I wanna see you in a escort against some other good escorts in 1 vs 1
I would love to see that.
But don't misunderstand me you're a very good sci.

well...that part is right, there is almost a dozen of videos in youtube of people beating him in 1vs1 and the guy keeps playing. That's admirable
3 videos... Get it right.
Anyway Like I said everyone who claimed to beat me never fights me again. If they're so good they would keep beating me, and not just battle me once, or twice then get hella scared. It's why I'm the best. It's not always about winning. It's how you win and how you act. I would never make videos. I win. I won. I don't have to show off to people I don't care about. What a complete waste of time.I don't value you people enough to waste my time doing that. Know that please.
It's easy to post when you win and never when you lose to appear 'better'. I won't resort to that. It would be nice if it wasn't videos from 9 month ago.... Then again people here tend to live in the past because they can't do [redacted] to me now. It's why I go on like I do.
I'll always be the best. You pvp players have way too much fear of a game. It's very pathetic. I'll fight someone infinite times, but others just fight me once then never show up again... No one in any video would ever face me again. I'll utterly destroy them now. They accepted that. So it's all good. Carry on with this thread.

I like your post you Boost nicely
just one prob the Old school Trolls would put you in your place faster then you can post I Lost to a Troll.
Call me whatever you want. Anyone here would lose in PVP versus me now. Posting 3 to 9 month old videos and name calling are the only ways people fight me now... Notice how no one is eager to battle me... Ever...
So yeah...I worked on a few major games Starcraft, Command & conquer: Generals, Decent Freespace, Galactic civilizations II, Master of Orion II, and Freelancer. Mostly modding, advanced AI scripting, and total conversions to improve game play.
My own current personal games are Omega Force Hybrida and Event Solarisa (all 2D WRPG's not yet released). Funny how STO has an Omega Force... Thankfully no relation to my game. Still gave me an LOL.:D

So, here is a detailed graphic over what a Minimally Viable Product is.
STO's PvP aspect is a Minimally Viable Product.
It is enough to present to the playerbase, "Hey, we have PvP." It will never be worked on to the point PvP becomes the main selling point of the game. I hate using the word never, I hate absolutions. But when I say it will never be in the state some hardcore PvPers want it to be in, I mean never.

speak for yourself. i don't know why anyone would want to legitimize such a ridiculous thread by reasoning from this starting point.

The question is, destroying someone with a mirror T'varo using VR MK X guns....is that balance, or did my enemy just suck :P
