tomorrow's ambassador

Is this not the same ship we get for the temporal ambassador mission? I thought we got that ship at t3 level (level 20) but the description days it's t5. If i remember right i wad using that ship when my toon was just a commander. Could someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks

    We were awarded a Support Cruiser for that mission. Tomorrow we will get a Support Cruiser Retrofit.

    The ship we are getting tomorrow is a T5 Ambassador class

    When that mission first came out, you'd get two ships: one T3 and one T5. Nowadays, you only get the T3 from the mission. There is a T5 Fleet version available in a T3 Fleet Shipyard. Tomorrow's ship will be a C-Store'esque account-wide unlock.

    Its the T5 retrofit that was available alongside the T3, and the counterpart Kamarags, when they first released Temporal Ambassador.

    When Temporal Ambassador was originally released as a special anniversary event, It awarded two boxed ambassadors for Federation characters. One that was a T3 and one that was a T5. The T5 was eventually removed from the event once the special expired and became integrated into the regular series of missions

    True... the Kamarag should have been offered as well, as it is one nice Battlecruiser. However... the KDF is kinda lacking in the science ships, so it kinda makes sense that they would do the Varanus. Means more access to a KDF sci ship for current players without spending anything.

    Perhaps...but if this means you can get a fleet support cruiser for 1 module I think it would be kinda like a F-U to the KDF.

    As far as I know... there is no discount for the Fleet Ambassador.

    I doubt it, unless they are adding the Ambassador to the c-store permanently, which you think they would have said. Not much comms these days so who knows.

    Since it will be reclaimable, it will have to be a permanent addition to the store, even if it will only ever be visible to people who claim it during the giveaway.

    Under the mechanics of the fleet ship discount system, I'd *expect* this ship to grant such a discount. Same for the Varanus. Whether it does or not remains to be seen, in about 14 hours.

    If the discount applies they have a guaranteed purchase of the fleet and fleet T5U from me.

    I got my T5 when the event came out. I love that ship, and one of my top favorites to use. As the Ambassador is one of my top favorites.

    I'm glad to see it in the store for future players to enjoy. I will make use of this ship. As my future Sci captain can use it since its more Sci based. To give her a nice cruiser base ship to use.

    Yup, there is no discount for the fleet ambassador, even when you have the t5 retrofit version of it.

    There's never a discount for fleet versions of non-reclaimable ships.

    That said, the release tomorrow is a reclaimable ship and may trigger a discount automatically.

    The Varanus will trigger a discount so, arguably, the Ambassador should as well.

    One would think that with it in the C-Store, once 'bought' it should provide the FSM discount. Regardless, I will attempt to do any upgrades to the Fleet version tomorrow after claiming and while still 'active' in the Store. Though they will need to leave it there for reclaims. Perhaps they will make it a cost permanent Store addition after tomorrow seeing as how they are on a roll this week with releasing 'beloved' canon ships.

    Then... they will have to add the Kamarag Retrofit at some point. And maybe a Romulan counterpart as well.

    I hope they decide to implement the discount on the fleet variant.

    Currently, the T5 version we get tomorrow is not eligible for a T5-U Upgrade by any means according to the list of upgradable ships.

    The Fleet version however, is eligible for upgrade. So if they were to make tomorrows ship give the fleet discount, they would make money of people buying fleet modules as well as people upgrading the fleet version to T5-U.

    Under the current system, they give it away tomorrow, people will fly it for a month then throw it away, which would be a real shame. I hope they consider offering the fleet module discount to give people an inexpensive path to a nice T5-U.

    I would love to fly it as a fleet or T5-U ship, even if it's less powerful than the new ships coming simply because it's a nice looking canon ship. It has a nice design and good boff setup to boot.
    To not offer a discount would be throwing away a lot of guaranteed sales of modules and upgrades as I'm sure I'm not the only one looking to use the ship.
    Plus if the KDF giveaway offers a discount surely the fed version should as well.

    Otherwise where is the logic in giving away a prize people are gonna dump in a months time.

    I am so glad that finally i get this ship as i never got that ship even tho i did the event during the 3rd anniversary event and only got the T3 ship

    Well in the past, you could only obtain the T5 Ambassador by traveling back in time (if you didn already have it).

    It was a rather brilliant way to test if people could be cheated into accepting only fleet ships (hence finally getting that pr-char ship purchase, over the account wide that D'Angelo and Geko has been drooling over since Season 5 planning).

    I agree, the Flambo is a hell of a boat. I wonder what the t5u will give it console wise? A tac console, or a sci?
    I don't foresee cryptic giving us flambo owners 3 of our fleet modules back upon claiming the old one, if it does apply a retrospective discount however! Shame.

    Well it doesn't appear to give any discount to the fleet version, and it also comes with no special consoles or equipment.

    So basically its a ship that is going straight in the trash can without even being used by most people.

    Considering the KDF free ship can be upgraded etc this seems a bit crappy for fed players.

    That's a shame. This is a missed opportunity by Cryptic to get easy money from me on a ship that would otherwise make them zilch since I'd easily spend $5 for the fleet version plus the T5U cost. Not willing to spend $20-$30 though on anything that isn't a T6 at this point though.
