So is this the baseline code for delta rising, bet ya can't wait to start writing tribble notes almost every day hey Coldsnapped! Look forward to testing indeed.
They have mentioned ( al an salami at vegas ) that its just the code ( bear bones ) going in then a little while after its good for testing, so maybe end of this week or beginning of next week.
I hope that when the new expansion starts hitting Tribble, it is open to free2play. I am looking forward to testing the new content, and seeing what is out there for us.
If it is locked out, I will need to see if my brother will let me use his.
Leader of Elite Guardian Academy.Would you like to learn how to run a fleet? Would you like to know how to do ship builds (true budget as well as high end)? The join the Academy today!
It's probably not all there yet, either, so this thing will likely be increasing the footprint of the game by 50% by the time it's done. I guess maybe this WILL be a big deal.
Watching the files as they download, one can see it's a lot of art assets. Probably early art and map assets for DQ related stuff. Content that will be locked down for now until they are ready for us to test it
If Tribble is going temporarily offline, that can only mean one thing..MOAR DELTA RISING BLOGS ON TEH WAY!! *ahem* Sorry for my little outburst there, it won't happen again.
EDIT: On a side note, might we see an update to the Galaxy Map at all? It's bugging me how the DQ is away in some corner, whilst the Breen and the Borg get the full run of an entire quadrant each (speaking to scale here).
There's a marked difference in how much drive space that's gonna eat.

What do you mean by "adding to it or overwriting"?
Edit: I see what you mean now, Updates on Tribble are always "Added unto the current build"
once it goes like to Holo it is overwritten, and space wont have to be a problem, although there will be some few MB even GB of difference... no biggy tho... At least for me since I have a 1TB HDD

He means diff patching vs replacement patching. You can push out a patch that adds to existing files (diff), or download a new version of the changed files entirely (replacement).
In this case, it looks like they are doing replacement patching.
If I had to guess it's probably a mixture of both. If something already exists and is being updated, then it's replacing that, if it's a new thing it's going to add it on. So no you aren't going to see an added 7gb to your playtest folder; but you will see some expansion.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I told the game to patch the Tribble server just now and it tells me 5gb of updating to do.
I didn't find any patch notes to explain it, so not sure what it is patching or why.

5GB without On-Deman on.
Uh, the first post in this thread probably explains why.

Do you have on demand turned off?
Nope, why?
Should be closer to 6 GB.
On demand activated explains it.
O wow 7 gb, i will let it patch. Thanks

Because it would suck to lose it and never get it back.
Edit: Patching 2.7GB.

Replacements, it looks like. My Live folder is 10.8 GB, my Playtest one is 11.3, and I have downloaded 4GB so far.

I am 26% and I've recieved 300mb.
The patch is around 1.2GB. There are a lot of changes. Half of the patch is new stuff.
I'll compare Holodeck and Tribble install sizes after I'm done patching.

Turn off on demand patching for accurate numbers
My live install has 11.1 GB used
My Playtest install has 11.4 GB used
Both with On demand disabled
