that might just be the dumbest thing ive ever read. cant even post it on their own forums that there wont be blogs until tomorrow. what a joke. e2 press is gonna be a nightmare since they cant even manage a half season with some degree of competency.

They did. Re-read the first page, specifically Trendy's posts, please.
Hrmmm, no information in the patch notes about the conversion of current Data Samples and Particle Traces. Does this mean that the Particle Traces are still a random Material, and thus you can end up with Common or Uncommon instead of Rare?
Should we hold off on converting our Particle Traces should this change or is this not going to change and we should just go ahead and convert them? Or did I totally miss a dev comment somewhere stating this had already changed?
Keep them. Run the queues for the Rare and Very Rare materials as you won't need them for a long time unless you spend dilithium to bypass the timers. The Particle Traces could be kept in order to sell on the Exchange to folks that really want Accolades, especially with the loss of Exploration Accolades. That's my thought anyway...
Another thing that might have been nifty to mention in the Release Notes since it has come up in 9001 threads would have been what happens for the folks that already maxed crafting in the current system...cause we're likely to see 9001 more of those threads.
It's a pair of Accolades/titles ("R+D - Dabbler" and "R+D - Genius") and a doff, last I saw; haven't heard of the doff was set to anything other than Common, though.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
They did. Re-read the first page, specifically Trendy's posts, please.
Yes they announced it now... on the forums... that most people never bother reading. It is a sign of incompetence that they don't have the Dev Blog posts already posted with just over 12 hours before this all goes live. This whole release is one giant cluster****. No buildup, no "official" announcements about any of this, and too many major KNOWN ISSUES that are still being pushed live tomorrow. This game is really going downhill fast.
Nope. One of the devs (I think it was Hawk) replied to questions about it on the Tribble forums last week that they still aren't ready yet when they were announced almost 6 months ago now. Gotta love it lol
"Pricing rebalance for Reputation and Fleet items:
Mk 12 Space Items, except consoles, in Reputation Store systems costs 22,500 Dilithium.
Mk 12 Ground Items in Reputation Store systems costs 7,500 Dilithium.
Reputation Space Set Items cost 32,500 Dilithium.
Reputation Ground Set items cost 9,000 Dilithium.
Fleet Advanced Gear is 10,000 Dilithium for Space items.
Fleet Advanced Gear is 3,750 Dilithium for Ground items.
Fleet Elite Gear is 15,000 Dilithium for Space items.
Fleet Elite Gear is 5,000 Dilithium for Ground items.
For all Fleet gear, the Dilithium prices are in addition to the required amount of fleet credits for each item."
I'm curious: will dilithium prices still be lower for fleets that have completed the mine holding? Since each tier involved a reduction in Dilithium store costs...

In general, I support the update. I'm not a fan of the new doff UI (frankly, that thing stinks), but everything else seems good. I LOVE the uniform and Foundry updates, and the crafting system is fine by me.
As for your coffee machine...
Well. See the link in my sig. Show up there, and I will send you a virtual billion and a virtual gold-plated coffee machine.
We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, July 17th, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for our weekly scheduled maintenance and to apply a new patch for Season 9.5. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 3 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

"Frankly, not sure why you're on a one man nerf campaign. "
Previous skill bonuses have been replaced with direct increases to the stats they previously affected.
This means increased Shield Power and Shield Capacity.
Added a ResAll Mod.
The former 3-piece Set Bonus Adaptive Shielding is now a base aspect of the Aegis Shield.
Adaptive, or Reactive Shielding?
Fleet shields adapt and apply resist to shields. Aegis Reactive builds a resist that applies to hull only.
Unless sto wiki entry is completely wrong about old set bonus.
Just to clarify, neither myself nor Trendy decide the publication schedule.
In fact, I don't have any control over the content publications as of nearly 3 months ago now.
Trendy is tied to the publication schedule that is decided by the management teammates above her. So please don't take your frustrations out on poor Trendy, she is doing everything she is allowed to do in order to bring these blogs out on time.
After BranFlakes departure, Cryptic/PWE hired a new Product Manager to oversee publication and keep everything on schedule, and bring up to date info the the players.
As you are all aware, this transition has not been the smoothest transition ever (to put it mildly) but we are working very hard to highlight these issues, and the delay with the Xindi LockBox blogs as well as the lack of any major official announcement about S9.5 release dates are great examples for us to show the management that we need to plan better before we head into Season 10.
With the Las Vegas convention fast approaching, my time is being focused on planning the convention and making sure we have things ready to go. But with the launch tomorrow, I will be redoubling my efforts to bring the needed changes to the entire STO publication machine, including the Forums, Facebook and Twitter.
We will have plenty to share with you over the next few months, and we thank you all for your patience over the last several weeks as we built to 9.5, and we thank you in advance for your patience as we work to improve our team engine leading into post launch.
Enjoy Season 9.5 tomorrow everyone, and we will see you in game!

My reply about us forum denizens biting your head off applies to this as well...
Oh fine, at least there's some form of warning... and he's not the one that decided to send out an unfinished product, or when. Still, he should show his bosses the tooth marks (or just the forums both in S9.5 feedback and this) and ask for more leeway to discuss things openly within the company's own forums. Especially when one person says something is in alpha and then it goes live with little to no revisions. Seriously bosses, look at the tooth marks... help the poor guy out, it's not like you didn't know what you were doing.
...but please try to forward not just the concerns about the Dev Blogs and general communication methodology, but also our collective concerns over the lack of responsiveness in the Tribble testing/feedback -> Holodeck release process. This would be an excellent opportunity to address the growing perception that Tribble testing doesn't actually accomplish terribly much; I've seen folks comment that this is normal, to be expected, and has not changed for quite a few Seasons now. If it did change, though, you'd have to deal with less shipstorms when things do show up on Holodeck.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

This one post has done an incredible amount in my eyes to communicate with us and to explain the issues of recent times. Alot of the frustration that I have been feeling feels completely misplaced/misdirected.

Well Captain Smirk, are you'll going to reconsider the removal of "Exploration" component of this game or not? I'm going to give you all a reasonable amount of time to respond and after that I'm going to cease my subscription. The ball is in your quys court!
Good post smirk. I would say to "management" that this has been a very fumbled lead up to S9.5, the worse I've seen for STO imo.
If Xindi lock boxes are coming in this upcoming patch (I'm still confused about this), there's a complete lack of information and as a result hype and I would've thought lost sales potential on launch.
If the blogs aren't up before key sale finishes, I dare say you just shot yourself in the foot. :S
In this day and age, and as crowd funded games are showing, communication and engagement with your player base is a big part of a games ongoing success, disregard that notion at your own peril.
More information sooner is always better, even if you have to correct things later or explain alterations to plans. It actually gives us an understanding of how things are developing/evolving. I miss the time before the PR blackout PWE I think introduced way back, information was more free flowing and was great to keep up with.
Gecko is seemingly the last bastion of free flowing (as possible) insider information around, although adjudicatorhawk does a pretty good job these days too.

The other announcement we never got was the one detailing the schedule for the end of the Summer Event. We had a very detailed one for the end of the Winter Event that specified when the event was shut down, that you had until the end of the month to turn in items and spend stuff in the Event 'Store', etc. Nothing this time. I assume that the circus is pulling down the tents and leaving town completely all at once.
Too many things scheduled for the same day and in a very rushed and late manner. Almost like politicians announcing something after 5PM just before the Weekend to avoid the prime news cycle.
Normally one would think they were trying to jack up sales for the end of the fiscal quarter, but that was last month. Must want to get this all out for the upcoming conventions
