Question #1:
Starting with STO Expansion 2 (or STO Season 10), how can Cryptic manage a better alpha/beta testing cycle with players?
Why, I ask?
It would help to know that constructive community feedback is being heard. Within the STO Forum, Cryptic solicited for feedback during Season 9.5 (specifically the Crafting revamp). But very little formal acknowledgment of changes/suggestions from the community feedback.
Also, some form of reward for alpha/beta testing would be appreciated, eg. a Season 10-related tribble, etc. (similar to what Cryptic gave out during past testing cycles, e.g. Season Six, etc.)
Question #2: When will Cryptic release the Constellation-class ship into STO?
(I realize this sounds like the "Where's the Ambassador-class ship" ask from a couple of years ago. But some of us would like to know...)
Can you imagine if Google worked like the Foundry search interface?" Type in "video game" and get a static list of the top 50. It would have no page 2 button to browse what else is really out there. Now imagine making a web page under such a system and trying to get people to it.
That is the state of the Foundry. Isn't that a problem?
which is the real reason they are getting rid of the exploration clusters.. it had nothing to do with being broken, or people not likeing them, cause if that was the case they would have axed them forever ago..
it had to do with the collection of crafting material. its easier to remove it, than to explain why you can no longer farm it..
in my humble opinion, (not to go off topic on this thread) this game is not healthy enough (content wise) to remove anything. it needs all it can muster.. lol.

I echo this question in whatever way the hosts choose to ask it.
The User Interface for the Foundry is a complete wreck, and saying "too many choices overwhelms players" is both an insult to our intelligence and an attitude that has ruined the foundry search interface for well over a year now.
Question; since you ( capt geko ) are a star trek fan, at what point do you personally have to put aside your fandom and, say this would be cool for the game, even if it " rubs you up the wrong way ", im just curious as we are all fans.
Greetings Captain Geko and thank you for hearing me, I just have three questions.
Q1: Will you ever consider giving Fed-Romulans the ability to get the D'kyr science vessel?
It would be a nice roleplay ship for reunificationists and D'kyrs are not exactly a top-notch ship. Neither In-Universe or Amongst the community.
Q2: Will we see more Federation gear or equipment that Fed-Romulans can get? Akin to the Powerboard.
Q3: Can you enable the Wells Uniform/Korath Uniform for Romulans too? Nobody knows what the Empire and Federation looks like in year 28xx. The Romulans could be part of either, especially if we factor alternate realities in. We should have access to them. And if you absolutely decide not to, at least allow us to redeem it for our Boffs, please?
I know i'll get ignored as always, but i ask anyway.
Why didn't the Galaxy -R got a station rework but the Galaxy -X did? (All the fuss was about the Galaxy -R being underperforming and disappointing, not the Galaxy -X)
When will the Odyssey get some additional ship parts as promised at its release?
Any chance of some additional (especially a wide saucer) ship parts for the Avenger?

I'd also like an option to chop a leg or arm of my captain and place him in a wheelchair or use walking stick or something. Will this be an option someday?

Captain Gecko,
The PvP ground community has some issues with the way ground kits are now being played. Before season nine kits were standardized and stuff like Ambush and Rally Cry we're not on hype same kit. Also Stealth Module and Motion Accelerator were not used together. Is there a balance pass coming to ground kit modules? As of right now Rally Cry can be stacked up to five time in a team of five Tacs. This plus the additional bonuses from armor and devices like the gambling devise and melee doffs is pushing some crit chances up to nearly 50% chance. This chance and the bleed through of 80% for lunge is allowing to many one shots. Also Stealth module is supposed to have a speed debuff, now Motion Accelerator is negating that debuff. Is there a way to look at apply a debuff to Srealth Module to disallow MA and Ice boots from giving their buff.
Buff info for the stacking of Rally Cry.
Buff source. Crit chance. Crit severity
Omega armor. 2.5%. 20%
Rally cry 7%. 70%. Stacks up to the amount of tacs running on the team
Melee doff 5%. 25%. Allowed to stack x3
Gambler. 10%. 10%
Target Optics. 2.5-5%. 25-50%
Strike team. 1.5%. 12%
Totals with five tacs: 69% crit chance and 517% severity.
If yo appy to lunge one of my characters can hit for 280 pts no buffed
Now we can add the buff from battle strategies, target optics, ambush, and strike team which nearly 175% more damage to the the lunge. Now my lunge is worth 770 points of damage before resistance. With 80% bleed through that is 616points of damage.
Now take our 770 points of damage and apply the crit severity of 517% for a total damage before resistance is 3980. Add the 80% bleed through and now damage is 3184 damage before resistance.
With damage totals like this a tac could or a group of tacs could kill most NPCs with one shot. Think about Rebecca in IGE has 14k hit points 5 tacs hitting at nearly 3k and kill her in one lunge each. Five shots lunges and she is dead.
Needless to say they can also time tactical initiative to keep there buffs up nearly 100% of the time.
1. Are we going to see an update a la Fleet escort refit with the Fleet Heavy Qin/Somraw raptor by giving them better engineering boffs and a small hull buff? For example, taking the fleet somraw lieutenant and ensign engineering boffs and combining them into a single lt commander engineer. Another example would be taking the fleet qin raptor and changing the tac ensign boff into an engineer ensign. These simple changes along with a small 10% hull buff would go a long way in making the raptor line-up more competitive with newer starfleet escorts and lock box ships.
2. Similarly, the fleet defiant retrofit's and fleet intrepid's survivability could greatly benefit from changing a few things around. For example, the fleet defiant badly needs it's ensign tac boff switched to an ensign engineer. Likewise, the fleet intrepid needs to have an ensign sci boff eliminated while upgrading the lieutenant engineering boff to Lt. commander level. Do you think this is feasible? These simple changes would put the intrepid and defiant on a more even footing with newer ships.
Lots of exploiters are using 60-70 toons to farm the "Turn in Confiscated Contraband" doff mission, gaining like 500k RAFINED dil per day, some even with the aids of a few PCs and macro programs, since they cant be detected anyway. In 16 hours they farm 8k dil cap per toon easy. I have no doubt they are related with those illegale EC selling sites, if not runing them then selling EC to them via convertion dil->zen->keys->ec.
This is a serious exploit:mad:, no diferent then those foundry clickies imo from awhile ago.
And a slap in the face of the ppl who buy zen I might add.
Mr. Al Rivera, can the doff mission "Turn in Confiscated Contraband" be adjusted to at least a 20h duration?
And one more question, more content related: Will the Romulans eventually get their own trophy rooms? Even after more then a year from LoR expansion there isnt any Romulan trophy room

Sorry i forgot:
Any chance of a REAL overhaul of the 3 "hero" ships (Galaxy -R, Intrepid and Defiant)?
(maybe turning their Lt.Cmdr station into universal)
Is there any chance of a Refit Star Cruiser (the original ones, not the Odyssey), maybe with a BOFF layout similar to the Regent, but science and tac stations mirrored?

What?!?
Maybe you don't know, but some people rely on that mission to get at least a bit dilithium to buy equipment for their ships and Starbases. Nerfing the CD of that mission would hurt much more players than anyone else.
I'm sorry but that's a really BAD idea.

The main thing at this point I'd want to know is how they're planning to differentiate the various types of tactical ships gameplay-wise so they won't all be referred to as "Escorts". <.<

No, let's not give up on better game balance.
Making all BOFF combinations good > Redesigning all ships with BOFF stations into what works now
Why no romulan faction's "subrace" specific doff recruiting: i.e. feds have vulcan/andorian/tellarite, kdf have orion/gorn/nausicaan, roms have nothing unique there.
Why no specific romulan lore mission, since half the back story of the game revolves around what happened with the Romulan people?
Any chance of seeing redesigned or new bridge officer powers that might make certain bridge officer combinations (looking at you, Engineering-heavy ships) more desirable?
Oh, and any chance of revisiting the aesthetics of launch-era ships to bring them in line with current Cryptic modeling quality? We got a taste of this with the Gallant and Vigilant models, and it's delicious.

Will there be any passive abilities added to STO that counteract group cloak ambush ganking? Aka a counter to "Vape" builds which rely on completely catching a player off guard, and unable to react to attacks from multiple uncloaking coordinated ships? Such as a console that gives 2,000% bonus to all defense and steadily drops in effectiveness to 0% defense bonus after 15 seconds when receiving critical damage , or defensive armor that has a chance to proc a nanovirus which infects like viral matrix, but is deployed via something similar to the Tier 5 undine active ability and disables enemy cloak for 30 seconds and cannot be removed.

They can, rock, paper, scissors. I would rather a drawn out fight, then a troll gank fest. Most of my time spent pvping, I am protecting ships without cloak in Ker'rat in my cloak ship, because some people really enjoy shooting people in the back, and some even organize in groups to grief players who have no ability to defend themselves. I think this sets a terrible precedent that an entire group of players can be completely invisible FOREVER without fear or actual retaliation because they can slip away so easily.

While all MMOs suffer from bugs as a consequence of their complexity, easy to spot bugs have been slipping through recently.
Are there any plans for beefing up the QA process, and what is the best thng players can do to help in this regard?
