A minor glitch on a costume is one thing and to be blunt, irrelevant to an issue of this magnitude which is seeing 90% of the players struggling to play the game and potentially damaging their computers through overheating.
I know for one its driving me away from the game. I've gone from playing the game everyday to three times a week. And I bet I'm not the only one migrating away because of this issue.

This is exactly my situation. Even if still i login a few hours a day, mostly to do the stupid summer event (just the horga hunt.. and gathering pearls for stacking for the next year) i am basically the only thing im doing, because i dont have the guts to do anything else until this is fixed. I am really afraid of breaking my videocard for overheating. Not breaking it, but drastically reducing its life expectations. Its incredible that a really critical issue like this is not even recognized as a problem. That really dont say too much about cryptic, honestly. But i guess everybody is used to it. Sadly. And i am 200% pretty sure i will not be playing this game if it was not star trek related.
actually, i wasnt told by anyone(when i asked around in chat and on forums), and couldnt find anything about it till i unlocked the 3rd piece to the maco gear. I went to tailor after getting the 2nd piece, nothing, went again after getting 3rd expecting same thing, but there it was

Sorry, but its impossible to "improve" it, since its cryptic's fault, not ours.
Until they revamp the engine or they revert the changes prior to season 9 (god i said this millions of times i think lol) there is nothing we can do. So, we have 2 options, stop playing, or to wait a miracle..
BUT, since they keep releasing new content, even if they revert the changes prior to S9, problems will be still present. So, if your computer cant handle the game anymore , i will suggest you that you find another game, because i dont think this is going to change. Unfortunately.
Anyways, you can try to disable dynamic lightning, and antialiasing, postprocessing. Those options are the ones that will consume more resources. But still, you will notice fps lag. But you will be able to play, at least.

I know this cause i jst done testing and he tried to make it look like i was wrong and he was right even tho he done no testing what so ever.
Then he tried making out he seen mutiples of the issue i was reporting when no one has reported it, only he has.
He also likes to start great massive debates off subject
this one as well. He sort of had a point about a trait i could be using. but, he was wrong, not reading what i was writing as per normal, and saying something to try to make it look like i am at fault rather than seeing the pictures i posted.

My point, is policestate76 likes to start great debates when not needed, likes to discredit those who are trying to help the devs, makes out he is not flaming or trolling anyone when he clearly is, hes gotten me fired up a few times now but i have woken up to his ways now.

Dont even try to get away a little from the main suspect of the post, or you will be called troll or something worst. And in the last example, he cleared wrote "borg damage" and he still was trying to say i just invented that, and he obviously edited his own post to correct that after i wrote it lol. I tell you, Be aware of craig76 lol. Sorry craig76 but if you going to say non sense things about me, just because you have a special hatred focused to me, i need to defend myself.
Notice that in any moment i insulted him, or i missrespected him or anything.. he must be really angry with the world, i tell you.
And the last paragraph of his post, is epic lol. I am his archienemy lol. For some reason he assumed that i like to argue when is not needed , when the only thing i did all the time was trying to help him and calrify some things and terms he doesnt seem to understand. If you see other posts of craig, you will see that for some reason he always carry a lot of anger in his posts, i dunno why. I guess this time i was his target. Policestate76 - no, I wasn't actually asking for advice. Merely enquiring if anyone had stumbled upon a combination of settings that had at least, smoothed the experience of the game.
As to the advice, I'm one of the people in this thread who has been in pretty much from the start and have stated numerous times that certain settings such as you suggested, don't work in terms of improving performance. You'll have seen I was a big proponent of this, if in fact you had read all the posts.
Craig76 - yeah that's it pretty much. The idea on enquiring had been if someone had perhaps gone through the posts from everyone and managed to tune to an acceptable level.
I'm not sure if English isn't everyone's first language here, but I hope we are all at least of the position in hoping the devs will make progress on this someday.

Im not sure if i already said this or not, but i have Asus Maximus V Extreme, Intel I7 3770K CPU, 32GB Ram @2100Mhz, 2 EVGA GTX 760 FTW Edition @ 4GB Video Ram each running in SLi mode, all running off a Seasonic X-Series 1250W PSU - 80Plus Gold Power Supply Unit.
And there are areas that it seems to struggle, i more notice it on ESD looking in certain directions or turning around. Areas like Weapons req's near outfit tailor, or near transporter pad looking down toward ship req's.
I saw someone posting about worried about overheating their machine. I use the EVGA gpu monitor program, it just give what temps your gpu runs at and how fast the fans are running. I havent seen my gpu's go above 60 degrees celsius for the main card, the 2nd card hasnt gotten above above about 50 i think.
CPU, seems to run at about 55 to 60 degrees ingame, outside the game, on desktop, cpu runs at about 40 and gpu's run at about 40 for main and 34 for secondary card.
Not sure if any of this helps the devs in finding a solution for why the game struggles in some areas or not, but, its all info they can take into consideration i guess

This all happened when the graphics device was set to Auto. Tested forcing it to DX11, same thing, so I assume Auto was using DX11. Forced it to DX9e and the issue seemed to go away. ** update, happens in all DX modes, just the impact seems less in dx9.
Note that previously I had been using the client in DX11 for many months without any issues at all, and in fact performance was slightly better than DX9 mode.
Ah- strange. And I need to know: how do I force Directx 9 mode (I'm in dx11 now)? I can't find the instructions anywhere and I don't have a troubleshooting tab in options in-game?

Im not sure if i have missed a post, so, i can only offer you a "possible" solution
Should be able to go to Options, then Display, and change it to DX 9 there. You will have to exit the game tho for the changes to take effect.
Im not sure if this will work if you are still having issues trying to change to DX 9, but,
Open launcher, click on Options on top of launcher, then check the box that says " Safe Mode". I think, from memory(been a while since i had to do this), it resets all your graphics to defaults.
Continue to load the game, then change your graphics as to how you want them set. Close the game and restart it normally.

only place that I have problems in is Indine space BZ...I'm running a gtx 680/21 Gigs ram/i-7 quad have played with every possible combination of settings I can think of...definatly on their end not ours. note...rest of the game runs great!
Has this been fixed since s9.5 came out? I'm not able to test myself as no net atm
No, it's not been fixed I'm afraid. Still graphics and major FPS problems around. Everything that is coming out at the moment will have been scheduled for donkeys. You just have to hope that they will be able to take a look at this at some point in the future.

My point, is policestate76 likes to start great debates when not needed, likes to discredit those who are trying to help the devs, makes out he is not flaming or trolling anyone when he clearly is, hes gotten me fired up a few times now but i have woken up to his ways now.
He is always right, everyone else is always wrong. And he even takes things out of context just like he did with you, hes done the exact same thing to me countless of times.

As to the advice, I'm one of the people in this thread who has been in pretty much from the start and have stated numerous times that certain settings such as you suggested, don't work in terms of improving performance. You'll have seen I was a big proponent of this, if in fact you had read all the posts.
Craig76 - yeah that's it pretty much. The idea on enquiring had been if someone had perhaps gone through the posts from everyone and managed to tune to an acceptable level.
I'm not sure if English isn't everyone's first language here, but I hope we are all at least of the position in hoping the devs will make progress on this someday.
And there are areas that it seems to struggle, i more notice it on ESD looking in certain directions or turning around. Areas like Weapons req's near outfit tailor, or near transporter pad looking down toward ship req's.
I saw someone posting about worried about overheating their machine. I use the EVGA gpu monitor program, it just give what temps your gpu runs at and how fast the fans are running. I havent seen my gpu's go above 60 degrees celsius for the main card, the 2nd card hasnt gotten above above about 50 i think.
CPU, seems to run at about 55 to 60 degrees ingame, outside the game, on desktop, cpu runs at about 40 and gpu's run at about 40 for main and 34 for secondary card.
Not sure if any of this helps the devs in finding a solution for why the game struggles in some areas or not, but, its all info they can take into consideration i guess

Ah- strange. And I need to know: how do I force Directx 9 mode (I'm in dx11 now)? I can't find the instructions anywhere and I don't have a troubleshooting tab in options in-game?
Im not sure if i have missed a post, so, i can only offer you a "possible" solution
Should be able to go to Options, then Display, and change it to DX 9 there. You will have to exit the game tho for the changes to take effect.
Im not sure if this will work if you are still having issues trying to change to DX 9, but,
Open launcher, click on Options on top of launcher, then check the box that says " Safe Mode". I think, from memory(been a while since i had to do this), it resets all your graphics to defaults.
Continue to load the game, then change your graphics as to how you want them set. Close the game and restart it normally.

No, it's not been fixed I'm afraid. Still graphics and major FPS problems around. Everything that is coming out at the moment will have been scheduled for donkeys. You just have to hope that they will be able to take a look at this at some point in the future.
