Is there one? No, I will not get into why I am looking for one, but I can't seem to find it...

Nope, this is not what you would call a "modern" forum.

Any chance to lean on the devs for that? After all, it's less work for the mods have to do if someone can use their discretion to put on ignore that which they don't trust themselves to keep a cool head with. ;)

It actually wouldn't be any less work to be fair. I've done moderation for pretty much 2/3rds of my life (BBS's were my first starter as a kid hehe), and ignore functions while they do stop some, don't stop others.

All I can tell you is that certain features getting added back onto the forums are not just things players want to see, or even us moderators but community managers as well. I know you've heard/read it a few times that there are things on the way, and honestly I did ask about it recently. If I was told anything substantial I would post it (assuming it was okay to do so obviously :P) as I know some things are big issues on the forums for players. But in this case all I can say is I'm hoping soon(tm) is actually going to be soon. :(

That is my experience as well. Block/ignore functions have little impact.

One thing i do hope is implemented swiftly is "report post".
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Yes, report the truly offensive & rule-breaking.

The ones that annoy you personally? The ones that conflict with your closely held view of things? Mostly, you probably are taking it a bit seriously & need to step back a bit because we're on a forum to interact. Excessive confirmation of one's worldview is simply not healthy.

It is indeed allegedly on the way:
I'll let the devs know, but last I checked it was in the works.

O'course that's a month-old post in a thread from January, and it took "all but beating them upside the head" to get that much response.

So I'd take it as "on the way" just like a PvP Revamp- "whenever they get a Round Tuit." ;)

if you cant take a bloody nose on the forum, then why come onto it for? you may as well crawl back under your bed and stay there. such obselete features should remain off the table as far as ideas go.

Not the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but certainly in the top 10.

So, nobody should have any choice but to see every single one-note-song post from "that guy" (we all know who) who never posts anything except "Cryptic sux lol nyuk nyuk nyuk" because...why, again?

Shoot. I couldn't get it to work this time:

    Ignore List

Sorry askray is a moderator/admin and you are not allowed to ignore him or her.

Add a Member to Your List...

To remove a user from your ignore list, un-check the box associated with their name and click the 'Save Changes' button.

To add a user to the list, enter their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

I would love to see either a "report post" or "ignore player" button. My concern is that there would be some posters (or certain posts from same) that would be unignorable.

You can still access the report page on this forum but I don't know if Cryptic broke it when they removed the button or if any moderator is actually monitoring the reports. The easiest way to try it is like this:

    1. At the top of each post there's a link above the post's date/time with a # sign and the number that the post has sequentially in the thread. Right click this link on the offending post and open it in a new window.
    2. Now look at that url. Replace showpost.php with report.php and delete the &postcount=1 from the end. (There might be another number there).
    3. Press enter to request the new url from the server and you'll end up on the report page.

The large number in the url after ?p= is the post's absolute number in the database so make sure you don't delete or alter that or the report won't be able to identify the offending post.

Well vBulletin is not managed by PWE or Cryptic, so as long as they stick to theming and settings, we should be fine.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Yeah mods, please introduce an ignore button, it can only help foster more diverse opinions and discussions on this forum.

Wait, what'd you just say? Ignored. You don't agree with me? Ignored. I don't like your avatar, ignored. Urgh, coloured text, ignored. STOP SAYING LOL IGNORED YOU'RE A KLINGON IGNORED IGNORED IGNORED IGNORED

Finally, the perfect forum. Everyone ignored so my genius can flow unopposed. Time to post.
    Fx3popQ.png
But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.

You want to block people on an internet messaging board because they have different opinions than you do.

Do you realize that that's the entire point of internet messaging boards? To talk to people with different opinions than you.
