You can still access the report page on this forum but I don't know if Cryptic broke it when they removed the button or if any moderator is actually monitoring the reports. The easiest way to try it is like this:
At the top of each post there's a link above the post's date/time with a # sign and the number that the post has sequentially in the thread. Right click this link on the offending post and open it in a new window.
Now look at that url. Replace showpost.php with report.php and delete the &postcount=1 from the end. (There might be another number there).
Press enter to request the new url from the server and you'll end up on the report page.
The large number in the url after ?p= is the post's absolute number in the database so make sure you don't delete or alter that or the report won't be able to identify the offending post.
Yes, we do still see the reports if issued.

You want to block people on an internet messaging board because they have different opinions than you do.
Do you realize that that's the entire point of internet messaging boards? To talk to people with different opinions than you.
There are many possible "points" of internet message boards, only one of which may be to talk with people with different opinions. It may be "the entire point" to you, but not to everyone else.
I support freedom of choice; that includes the freedom for you to choose to prevent this or any of my posts from appearing on your screen.
They're not really gone, as long as we remember them
if you cant take a bloody nose on the forum, then why come onto it for? you may as well crawl back under your bed and stay there. such obselete features should remain off the table as far as ideas go.
Yeah... I agree.
I really don't get people who want to talk, but then can't be bothered to face someone who disagrees. In-game, I've only used the ignore function to ignore spam bots, I have never once ignored someone because I didn't like what they had to say.
People don't hurt you with their words. You choose to generate that pain for yourself by reacting so negatively to others. Just stop that. Desensitize yourself.
Penn & Teller once did a TV episode where they suggested that people don't need 'sensitivity training'... that they don't need to be instructed on how to walk on eggshells around others. Rather- people need 'insensitivity traning'- we need to be accustomed to people who we don't like. We all need to learn to tolerate and manage the rude, the inconsiderate, and the disagreeable. I'd rather we be forced to endure exposure to them, than we be allowed to hide away in la-la-land. We're all stronger, more thick skinned, and better stewards of reality for doing so.
We're far too sensitive. Jerks expose themselves for what they are. Look them in the eye and know who they are. Other reasonable people get it too. You don't need to feel bad- leave that for them. Just deal with it and move on- not everybody needs to like and agree with you.

It doesn't have to be a case of wanting to ignore people that might disagree with you. It could simply be a case of wanting to ignore people that you can't fathom why Cryptic hasn't banned them from the forums yet...
I'm not sure I understand...you are looking for more of an echo chamber than an internet forum?
Some people prefer the variety and excitement of differing opinions, others prefer the comfort and camaraderie of like minded folks. Both are awesome. With the right mix of features, both are possible.

Exactly this. I don't mind differing opinions, hell I welcome it. But some people just have a complete failure to contribute in any meaningful way yet are allowed to stick around and keep not-contributing. THOSE are the people I want to ignore.

Thomas: I like TOS.
Richard: I like TOS too!
Harold: I prefer TNG.
Thomas & Richard: IGNORE HIM!
Comes across more as close-minded than like-minded...and even though one would be free to ignore who they wish, comes off a little abusive and silly.
Thomas: Did you see the latest episode of X?
Richard: Yeah, it was pretty good.
Harold: I'm a little teapot, short and stout. What's this in my pants, want to pull it out?
See the difference there, eh?
The first is likely to get you ignored yourself as a troll, while with the second...oh, the forums would be such a nicer place.
The mods actually do a pretty good job of moderating the forums. People who break the rules get warnings, and if they continue, infractions and bans. From what I've seen, bluegeek and askray work fairly quickly, are fair, and make themselves very visible on the forums (as well as accessible to players).
If someone is actively ruining the forums with abusive posts, they seem to be dealt with quickly. People making posts that "don't add anything" to the thread is a pretty broadly defined term, so I'm not quite sure what that's supposed to mean. I happen to think that posts of only three or four words "don't add anything" to most threads, but that is not grounds to ignore/report someone.
Thank you nabreeki People making posts that try to derail a thread are a LOT harder to figure out than simple other violations. We try our best but as always if people think something is bad, derailing threads etc feel free to contact us We can make a call on it and decide on a case by case basis.

I personally enjoy a spirited debate, or exchange of ideas by people willing to do so. I also think it would be confusing having people on ignore, for a time I did it in various game chats, but found the conversation sometimes difficult to follow if there were several people talking. you often could not see who was replying to who's statement. I think it might be the same on the forums. Largely I've learnt to accept we all have differing opinions and hey I can't do people down for the most part if its simply an opinion ie: TOS over TNG or vice versa. I kinda like that we are different, I'm a TNG era man but I respect those who love TOS over other series. My fave color is black but that doesn't mean I think anything less of someone who prefers another color. The world would be TRIBBLE if everything was black.
On the flipside I do see the argument for the ignore function on the forums for those people who you just cannot tolerate and find offensive or whatever your reason. I don't see how this would present a problem for the community on the whole and would only really affect the person who has people on ignore. Although thinking about it, it might annoy somebody who is unable to make a reposte to a statement made by somebody who has them on ignore, but I don't think that's really all that damaging as I see people choosing not to reply to statements directed at them all the time with no follow up "why didn't you argue back?" Posts.

This is called 'growing up'.
Someone once said that everyone grows old but not everyone grows up.
I think the only block/ignore function on the forum is to have self-respect and not read things you don't want to, or not be bothered by things you read.
The people who don't have any self-respect are out of luck.
And so nothing of value was lost~
Honestly, more people should learn to gloss over one another's posts or game hijinks. Makes for a more relaxed and laissez-faire forums and game environment.

Exactly. I would also support a browser plug in to give the user more control.
