I do not think you realise a lot of your income comes from this type of farming. You will be hindering your income if you go ahead with this particular update.

One. people who can't buy zen due to finances or country! won't be buying Zen to Dilithium as often as they are now.

I'm not sure you realise how much this boost's your own revenues as it is. It encourage's people to buy zen to exchange for Dilithium. Do this change and it'll cut off a lot of dilithium income, stumping the purchases on Zen. which will effect how much people will buy zen to get Dilithium.

And it won't encourage people to buy zen. If this is your hope.

The dilithium obtained from arena farming is negligible compared to the other sources coming in.

Anyway, thank you. I can't wait to check them out. Getting anything makes us happy.

Actually coming from someone who has spent £500 over four years. and is currently in financial difficulties. I farm on 12 characters, non exploit. There is no way I can keep purchasing Zen, with those changes. And i'm not alone. This mission as stated is the biggest incentive to PvP..

It will curb Zen purchases, and pvp incentive. I know people who have eight characters and struggle getting dilithium the way your referring too a Day!

Nice work Team Cryptic! Many, many bug squashings and QoL improvements in this update. It's all good stuff in there, to be sure, but highlights for me include the new Fleet Mark project, that MA/K7/SB39 are getting the new Starfleet unis, BOff kit piece unlocking, Undine Rep T5 Reward, Thalaron Pulse fix, Trait Tooltip update, All Mark Choice Packages w/Undiney Goodness, and I'm curious with the buffs to the Oberth Console. That Enhanced Plasma Manifold was always a hunk'a'junk, but maybe I'll have to re-think it... Hmm...

You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

Yeah, I completely missed that as well. Considering it takes 15-60 minutes per match the rewards are well earned. This completely kills any incentive to do more than three PvP matches per day if it hits the normally repeatable PvP missions. I realize some people abuse the missions to farm dilithium, but that could have been curbed by initiating a one hour cooldown upon picking up a PvP repeatable mission.

There's so many things they could have done to deal with folks they felt were exploiting the system rather than lob a grenade at it and affect everybody...

With all the effort folks put into campaigning for RvB queues so the KDF would no longer be faced with 45 minute to never for queues to pop...folks that would have queued multiple times may just queue three times now and the queues could dry up again.

Well I hope that since they said they forgot some stuff that the Fleet Mark consultant that is currently not working with all things related to fleet marks will be fixed by this and was just left out of the patch notes.

If anything they should up the number of torps from spread on all other torps.

Really sad, with the E-Bio it felt like for the first time in forever that mixed energy-projectile builds were finally starting to be viable. :(

But I guess its back to BFAW spamboats and BO3 vape builds again.

Yeah, another nail in the coffin for PvP. It is bad enough Ground PvPers can't even maintain enough energy credits between matches due to the pathetic 12-21k energy credit reward at the end of each match. It is pretty expensive when players need to replace an average of 60 consumables after every match at 340 energy credits each. I dump an average of 18,000 energy credits into replenishing my Large Power Cells and Large Hypos after each match. A single PvE run will cost me about 3,200 energy credits in consumables and I'll make about 35,000-100,000 in the form of loot.

The dilithium was the only positive reason to PvP and even then rewards were 1/10th of what I could be getting from a run of Infected Space Elite or similar PvE content. Then Cryptic wonders why PvP participation is down. The only people playing are the people that PvP for the sake of playing PvP.

I may have found a bug with 'Undine marks' added to multiple marks boxes.

I've tested two types of boxes:
    1) The reward 250 Mark box from the Two week rep project from the Mirror event. This one does now offer Undine marks.
    2) Reawrd multiple box from an individual run of Mirror invasion. These of course contain a number of marks depending on the success of a given match and these boxes don't currently offer Undine marks.

I'm not sure if that's intended because prior to this patch, both of these types of boxes contained all other existing mark types yet only the large box from the Event reputation project does now also offer the Undine mark option.

    EDIT:
Oh, and the Undine Rep Tier 5 reward sure works now. Thumbs up!

750 marks, 32k dil, as usual.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    WORST PATCH EVER

Enhanced Bio-Molecular Photon Torpedo Launcher Mk XII:

Resolved an issue that was causing Torpedo Spread 2 and 3 to yield more explosions than intended.

for the first time EVER, using a torpedo was actually as good as relying on BO for spike, despite all the drawbacks of using a torp vs all energy. the results were just good enough to justify running it, and it was great, it felt like i was playing a startrek game were torpedoes actually are a factor. it is balanced as is, you should be useing this torp spread multiplyer as a model to how all torps should act with spread. really, thanks a lot for ruining the game, that was actually starting to feel more like star trek should, were running a torp made your build better. oh but i get the message, i should just be using beam arrays and FAW instead, that's the only thing working as intended.

A new Featured Project has been made available to Fleets that have already completed their Tier 5 Starbases.

This project requires no other inputs than 2000 Fleet Marks.

It is specifically designed to supply large fleets with a steady stream of Fleet Credits in return for surplus Fleet Marks.

    oh cool, that sounds great.

The Fleet Credits received from this project are *HALF* of what is received from all other projects.

WOW. WOW. JUST WOW. congratulations, you wasted your time making this. anyone with an 1/8th a brain will just continuing to hop between fleets to dump marks, and hop back to cash in for the fleet stuff. how is it possible such a terrible decision could be made? what did people that maxed out a star base do to deserve this insulting addition? is Mr. Potter the newest dev on the dev team? 50 cents on the dollar!

All repeatable PVP missions for Fed and Klg (arena and scenario) are now set to a 20 hour cooldown.

its a really good thing these other 2 HORRIBLE decisions desensitized me before i saw this. only a very long string of profanity would be eloquent enough to express my feelings on this. whats the problem? people pvping to much since season 9? not playing your buged to hell end reward system space battlezone enough? a hand full of losers exploiting private ground pvp, earning a currency that's already time gated? have you even seen the dil exchange lately? the more they exploit, the more dil is DEVALUED, the free market in this case is managing itself. gee, i dont know, maybe you could EXCLUDE private matches from counting in these repeatable? instead of ruining pretty much the only way i earn dil?

there goes the literally only way i really earn dil, while doing the only thing i really enjoy doing in game, because the npcs are such a joke. when i hit that 20 hour cooldown, i guess its time to stop playing. and buying things from the c store, stuff like that. you obviously don't want me to play the game if you remove the MEAGER rewards for doing the only part i find fun.

Sometimes I don't get complaints. I don't get the complaints about the fix to the E-Bio and Torp Spread. You could put out over half a million in damage every 15s with them...that's with just one weapon, it's not going to include any damage being done from other weapons. How could folks not have looked at that right off the back and not gone...yeah, this is broken.

    edit: For those wondering...

    E-Bio TS3, x7 torps, x5 targets...35 torps.
    Bio/Grav/etc TS3, x4 torps, x5 targets...20 torps.

TS3 E-Bio is/was doing up to 175% of the damage one should have expected.

Now if they feel the PvP quest's are an exploit for those that do it, the work around is quite simple.

Rather than hurting everyone who has for years pvped in matches for Dilithium the normal way!
Is for those who unequip armour and shields. To make it give a static buff to armour and shields! Meaning they would not be able to do what they feel is an Exploit.

Instead they swing a Grenade to stomp out what helps they pvpers pvp, donate to fleet whilst they do it. Or even buy Zen.

PvP needs an encouragement , not a Grenade!

it needed too. torps are that bad.

though i should say built in shield resistance to kinetic damage being 75%, that is also enhanced beyond that by all res enhancing factors and has no cap, is that bad.

The kit parts are still doing "one colour for all" thing again, but for humans, as far as I see.

Would be nifty to get some sort of reset button for something like that - that broke any connection between the colors for different pieces. Different workarounds sometimes work...but since that's only a sometimes sort of thing, it's not really a fix.

Really though, the chance to expose has to remain between 0-100% because you can't have more than 100% chance to perform an action. Covert is also dealing +10% exploit damage...at least on holodeck anyway.

Well.. this patch is a mix isn't it. A lot of good things and a couple of 'wtf' things.
    • The trait description updates were sorely needed and I'm glad it's happening. :)
    • The fleet mark project is a godsend.. mostly.. sort of.. honestly I don't get why Cryptic even cares if we amass lots of FC. Most store purchases are still hamstrung by dilithium costs anyway. What, we're going to buy a buttload of purple horta/romulan/voth doffs and become OP? ooh I'm so scared. (Seriously, what are they afraid of? That I'll buy full set gear for all of my ships instead of just one of them, thus using more of my dilithium?)
    • Sad about the E-Bio TS3.. it was really fun.
    • I can understand the limitation imposed on the tachyon grid. It's crazy in a battle zone. I agree that it definitely shouldn't be affecting mines and targetable torpedoes, but I'm not so sure that it should have been removed from carrier pets. That'll hurt its viability in other areas of the game where there are fewer players and no graphical lag griefing going on.

Or it's pulling dynamically and the decimal in the display is just in the wrong place.
