Hrmm, let me double check the splash on the HY Elachi. I might be wrong on that. Like I said, it normally got obliterated before getting anywhere or would miss (massively) - so I usually ran it with a TS instead.

Wow, yep - you guys are right. It's a HY targetable that does no splash damage. Didn't splash me and didn't splash targets other than the intended.

And heh, with the Lobi I had, the Lobi I got from buying keys with ZEN, the Lobi I got from buy keys from EC from selling things in the boxes I popped with the ZEN keys, I was able to pick up the 3pc Silent to do my goofball Haywire thing with the Guramba...lol.

edit: BTW, I'm not saying Haywire on the Guramba is a goofball thing in of itself...just that I'm doing it for goofball reasons.

edit2: Heh, had to change the avatar for it...

I agree with Fred (Or Manfred) here. Getting your Lobi ships from the exchange will be far, *far* cheaper than using your lobi to purchase them. Most of them run at about, what, 90mil now? With keys doing 2,5, you're better off selling your keys on the exchange than opening up about 160 boxes to get the lobi you need.

Of course, the cheapest way is just grinding that 90 mil, which isn't all that hard anyway.

disclaimer: If everyone stops opening boxes, we're all fornicated. So please, my fellow STO players, keep opening those boxes and putting your lobi ships on the exchange.

Fred, Fredl, Schurli,.. your choice :D

Keys are now at 3mil each.

Not sure if I will buy Zen for store keys to open Lock-Boxes, but I am heading anyway for both Heavy Single Cannons and the Hirogen and Elachi Consoles.

Would love to see additional Heavy Cannons in the next time.

I will look to see what I might pick up. However lobi is harder for me to collect. So my purchases are very picky.

The Hirogen lobi console? Why? Looking at the stats, I'm constantly confused about it's use.

I think I have that torp floating around on one of my chars. I'm gonna go ahead and see what I can do with 3x Trico console and a HY3.

I think the Elachi set damage bonus works on base damage. It won't be anything spectacular. But I'm sure VD will be able to enlighten you more on the subject of base damage boosts vs. other damage boosts. Search around on the forum for those.

It's one of those inconsistencies in UI information. Sometimes they apply a base damage boost, sometimes they apply their boost after other modifiers. It's a mess, really.

I will, however, recommend the console. Critical Severity is always nice. Also, I don't think the torpedo does splash damage, so you'll be save when launching it from close range. However, the Undine and Gravimetric torpedo are *far* superior, especially with the Dyson weapon set.

Yes, you are right, it gave me about ~1.6% increse to dps, with the torp and console, if you put cannon on escort instead of dhc and 2pc bonus i am losing about 2.7% dps.
Torp is also crappy, the console is only good piece of the set, and the both 2 and 3 set bonus are nice but not worth using the other pieces of set to get it.

Well patience for the C-Store Ship sale and Lobi sales has paid off. Though I did pick up the Vandal Destroyer (for the Leech console) and two Tachyokinetic consoles earlier in the year, those were a deliberate choice, however.

Now, I have a serious question, with no Ba'al or bacon jokes.

Which shuttle is the best? Rommie faction, tac captain. Looking to run the shuttle NWS and later Atmosphere Assault.

They are all pretty similar. The differences lie in the console and boff selections just like other ships, so just pick the one that best fits your playstyle. There are some other factors to keep in mind, too - like if you have the temporal ships you can use their consoles on the temporal shuttle, and likewise the Voth.

I will say that since you are Rom, if you are good at using your cloak the Scorpion is probably a good fit. It's a fun little ship to fly, and exclusive to the Rom side.

If you allied with the KDF, try the To'Duj Fighter. It's very similar to the Scorpion, but rather than having Singularity Charge/Powers you get a free Cannon: Rapid Fire I. It even has a Battle Cloak so you can take advantage of all those handy decloaking bonuses. The Wiki fails to mention that the To'Duj also has a Battle Cloak, while the in-game description fails to mention the Cannon: Rapid Fire I, but it does have both. Unlike the Scorpion, you can use Warp Cores, meaning you have much higher power levels, too. I use mine with Type 0 Material so that it still has a nice Romulan Green hull material.

For Lobi shuttles... I'm still not going to spend such a hard-earned resource on a Small Craft. The cost-benefit ratio still seems way off to me. Sure, they're all better than the free and C-Store shuttles, but no. Now the Lobi ship equipment, that I might burn some of my Replay Lobi on.

You need to have at least one Lobi Crystal in your inventory and then you can double click it for the Shop to open.

Or you visit the Lobi Crystal Consortium Ferengi at the Drozana Station.

Forgot if you don't know: you get Lobi by opening Lock-Boxes (at least 4 in each Box, with a chance of max. 40-50 if you have luck) or finding hidden Crystals in some story missions or as reward by participating in Lobi weeks like now in Featured content.

With people potentially picking up the Ferengi N'Far Shuttle, Cryptic you may want to get that Metaphasic Shield into the Reclaim tab. It is STILL not listed like it is supposed to be.

You get Lobi now from three sources: opening Lockboxes, during Feature Episode Reruns (15 per Account for the first FE run during a day), and from opening Romulan Survivor Duty Officer packs labelled with the wrapper - Promotion; still some on the Exchange). Hidden Lobi are no longer done.

I just wanted to say this was the FUNest event to happen in STO, for myself, and prolly many others. 200 people queing for it on each side fed/kfd .... It was an amazing event.

I and I'm sure many others want events like this. (power creep with shuttles? lol) It was fun, A huge booster to alll mark funds, and idk, something unique about taking out a borg cube in a shuttle.

(the story line " we're sending out shuttles to take on borg cubes, battle cruisers, and Fleets of frigates because we want to make sure we keep every last large starship of ours safe....was a little weak tho :P ) I mean the back ground was ... a little Chilly, May as well have callled it "Operation Human shield" . Tho I suppose it would have been a fiitting story line if we where protecting a Ferengi starbase or colony :P (more profitable to keep the big ships from getting damaged, and sacreficing/ I mean liquidating assets, at their own expense :P)

( perhaps theirs a subspace distortion field being admitted from somewhere in the sector, Our Big ships will take to long to counter the effects of this field and thus we are retrofitting a fleet of shuttles in a last ditch effort to keep this station/base from being taken...or something to that effect :P )
