But there is also an area down around the ankle -- it rarely shows, but with things like swimsuits, could become more prominent. I haven't got the 'bare feet' option from last year's summer event, and it's difficult to zoom in on the feet, in-game, but this outfit shows it a bit.
(The outfit shown in both shots is the 'Formal' gown for females.)
Also, FWIW, I think the gap was actually less prominent before the S9 changes to skin tones. (Though the one at the neck, at least, was always there.) With the new skin, the gap looks to have widened, the spots having been 'blurred out' (apparently) in an even larger area.

It may have gotten worse, but it's been like this a long time. I think it's mostly just worse on some costumes than others.
Trill spots disappearing at the neck have always been a problem, but I think the gap has gotten bigger since season nine. Maybe it's just more noticeable, though it was never exactly subtle on the more revealing outfits like KDF bare chest armour or formal dresses.

I posted a similar bug that affects all female characters in another thread, it seems many open necked attires are affected giving a haze around the lower neck obscuring the complexion texture. The devs responded saying it is part of a bigger issue so the fix isn't something that would be done quickly. I showed that bug to Fark on Tribble 3 weeks before S9 started but I guess they were rushing to get it finished at that point so it made it onto Holodeck.
I went to Risa (On Holodeck) to see the new hotel parts, as i didn't know those where on the main server yet. Interestingly, the Trill Npcs there do have connecting spots, although the neck is really blurry compared to the rest of the body.
This could of course just be my machine, somebody else should go take a look!

I tried to follow-up on that, but I simply couldn't find any Trills on Risa. I guess it must be random in each instance. Don't know.
Considering that my main Fed and KDF toons are both joined Trill (Twin sisters, big family fallout, black sheep of the family and all that ) I declare this thread well and truly bumped, +1'd and supported!
If you're just bumping for the sake of bumping and it continues after this warning, I will just close this thread down.
If you have something RELEVANT to this thread by all means reply but bumping isn't relevant.

I do seem to recall their being a technical reason as to why the gap was there (and why it couldn't be fixed) when it was first brought up. That was a long time ago on a forum far far away, so I don't remember the details. I don't know if the updates in season nine have changed that reality. Obviously I hope so, I have two Trill captains and some BOs who would benefit. But I've also been waiting a really long time for Marauder costumes to get fixed, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

I took a screenshot next to the one i found, although my character is the C-store Joined trill (Dunno what the npc is classed as)

From a visual perspective, there should be no difference between a Joined Trill or a normal one. I would assume NPCs are normal Trills, but again there shouldn't be an visual differences.

If I remember that conversation correctly, it had to do with the fact that when the original character models where made, there was no intention (or way) to have the characters skin go beyond the neckline. all the original costumes where collared uniforms which ended at the neck so the models where designed in two parts basically. A head and a body.
So when things like the TOS mirror uniforms where introduced, it necessitated creating something that wasn't there before, so the connection between the head and the body was not smooth and seamless. however, this isn't noticeable in most characters. Just largely Trills and borg who have patterns that extend beyond the neckline.
Again this is going by memory, and is rather old. So accuracy and even relevancy at this point might be suspect.
I will support any cause that fixes graphics glitches, even though I don't have a Trill character (yet).

With the upcoming addition of swimsuits on Risa in the Summer Event... they might make a pass at the Trill spots, considering a few of the outfits will be... revealing.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I would love it if they, in addition to joining the spots together, gave us a few more styles. Also, make the spots a separate option so that the Trill females can wear makeup.
There's a similar lack of continuation in the Liberated Borg "Infected" skin type.
I have both the joined trill and lib borg, have been living with both issues since launch.... Breaks immersion when you run around with half nakid toons.
Yes, fix the Trill neck spots so they connect with the upper body and disconnect the trill spots from the makeup in the tailor so Trill's can wear makeup.
The spots on a Trill aren't "makeup" so they shouldn't be tied to makeup anyway.

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.

I just found the same on the old classic beach when hunting the tribble furries.
However what I found too is that when you look at your char and then move the camera into a wall (in this case a pinnacle in the Risa Cave where the furries gather) your spots will suddenly appear complete as well. It's like if someone had removed your make up all of a sudden. Or you'd be wearing x-ray googles.
As someone who plays Joined Trills both on Fed & KDF side, I'd very much like to see this issue being fixed. There's also the issue with the colour scheme of the face spots and body spots not matching, but with tweaks I can get it very close so it's not easily noticed. However the missing conection is quite obvious.
I do hope that this gets fixed with the Risan swimsuits comming this year, because with those the issue will become much more aparent. And if they were working on Klingon chests, that gives me the hope that they'll connect the Trill spots for the swimsuits as well.
Plus, I've got one more Trill related issue and I'd be thankfull if anyone else can confirm this happening: on my female Federation Trill, when she wears the mirror ENT uniform tank-top, 3 triangles showing skin appear - one on each shoulder and one just behind the neck. They look like the material has been cut in triangular forms and the skin beneath is showing.
Anyone else have this happening?
I agree, I have a Fed Trill Sci Character to level later on. So far I just got the Fed tutorial done. It would be nice if they was fixed when I start to level her up.

I don't think so, there are a couple around especially near the bank consoles and stuff.
