To everyone that plays a Joined Trill or basic Trill, I beseech you make noise here, or anywhere that Dev's may hear, too long have we had to live with Broken Spots! I Say NO MORE. Dev's Fix our spots.
My main character is Joined Trill, a race I had to buy, and his spots are wonky. The limited choice of patterns I can live with but PLEASE make the spots on the Neck and Torso connect seamlessly like the Remens do.

And while you're at it, separate the spots (and other racial Overall Complexion options) from the makeup options so that Trills, Remans etc. can actually wear makeup.

There used to be a picture here, but they changed signatures and I can't be bothered to replace it.
Aye, agreed! I have noticed that (at least with some tops -- see formal gown, etc.) the new textures have an even larger gap in the trill spots on the neck than the old textures did. And the old ones had a pretty noticeable gap as it was. Please take a little time and go back over the trill spots textures to make them look continuous down the head/neck/torso/legs.
Spot on (my neck please)! Actually, I think it is the upper torso... but KDF Joined Trill and Fed Vanilla Trill. It looks like their collars rubbed too tight.
I want them to run around on my face like Rorschach's mask!
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
As someone who has absolutely nothing to do with Trills or their spots, or fixing them. . . what, pray tell, is broken about them?
Basically when costume updates have happened that allowed more skin to be seen on the body model, the lack of updates to the torso models became more apparent, like skin tones not matching. Well this also applies to things like the spots which should be a selected continuous pattern, but isnt.
(if the rumored swimwear is truly true then perhaps this is a non point, but until we see it, we will only be speculating on our end, won't we? )
As someone who has absolutely nothing to do with Trills or their spots, or fixing them. . . what, pray tell, is broken about them?
The basic issue is the weird way they connect, or don't, with regards to a full body Trill.
As A result, some styles (in the TOS line, don't remember which off the top of my head) end the spots at weird places in the neck. While others, though they do go to the body, connect at an akward angle, rather then simply going from forehead straight down to their toes.
If I get a chance later, I will try to get screenshots to illustrate what it is. But I am sure the character art team is more then aware of the issue, and (Assuming that swimwear IS coming for the summer event) might even be working on a way to fix it.

The Head/Neck Spots do not connect with the Torso's spots, which wasn't an issue in the past, but now that there are SO many different Outfits that expose the upper chest it has become one. Just take a look a Trill is say, the Miner top, or the TOS Tunic and you'll see what were all saying.

Purchased the joined trill myself, and I was sorely disappointed when I put the command tunic on it.
I just put on a high collar and resigned myself to staying that way. Now there's gonna be the swimsuits, and it was the first thing I thought of when I heard it.
Here's hoping the character art team has already thought of it too.
Yes, please fix it! And while you're at it: Please make the skin patterns for the alien race available for the body, too. Not just the face. It's really annoying me, that my half-Trill characters spots suddenly stop at the neck.
And while you're at it, separate the spots (and other racial Overall Complexion options) from the makeup options so that Trills, Remans etc. can actually wear makeup.
Good point. Was just wondering yesterday if I was too stupid to find the makeup options. Turns out it's absent for Trills.
Thankfully, I didn't yet encounter the shoulder spot problem (guess my Trill's using too many winter coats), but sure, I support the plea for a fix in light of swimwear coming.

The liberated Borg skin pattern has this same problem -- it will apply to the face but not the rest of the body. Found this out the hard way last summer when I tried to wear Risian off-duty outfits.
Even with normal human skin I can see a line on my Fed captain that wears the Kirk TOS alternate tunic. I've also noticed that since the update there are a whole lot of costume pieces across the board that clip along the neckline, something I don't remember ever seeing before.
Sounds like we might need to make a new costume fix thread and actually get someone in the art department to see it and hopefully do something about it.
The same thing that has been broken pretty much since launch, or at least since the uniforms that show the neck/chest area more have come out.
Exactly what others have shown in the pics quoted: there is a glaring gap in the neck, like they didn't think they would have to connect it to the torso at all, ever. This issue was raised a few time over the years, and last I knew (this being something like 1-2 years ago), was that it was being looked into. Then it just dropped off, with no word until this thread.

I totally agree, for a "bought" species option, a little more effort should have been made ...
And the spots definitely should have a separate section (not just for Trill, but any "spotted" race) so that we can customise the appearance better.

Hopefully, considering body models are being worked on (assumingly) for the summer event, i hope they fix this.
Please fix this.

I hate that in anything but a full collar his spots are... umm... weird.

There's a big gap at the neck.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
