I thought it stopped but when I logged on today going from ESD to my Ody all tables were messed up in a new way. Its like its capturing an image of what my trays look like at a particular moment, like its on a cycle. If you miss that window it rewrites what you just did.

This is all a conjecture, I will experiment with this by letting my ship sit in space with what I would like my bars to look like and see if that does anything.

Edit: Nope definitely did not work. C'MON CRYPTIC!!!!

I was being bug free for a long time, unfortunatly it began to happen to me. Here are the step that resulted in the bug.

Equipped Fleet Patrol escort refit to see how it goes. retrained a couple boffs along the way to optimize setup for cannons (my previous ship was Fleet Assault Cruiser refit). Played with it for a 2 days trying out different loadouts and play style. Like it and decided to wait until I had it equiped with bio phaser to play with it again later. Switch back to my Fleet ACR and retrained same boffs for cruiser duty and also put a new Romulan engine on it. Redid tray like it happens often when retraining boffs. Signed in for a private CSE, warp in, oups boffs powers that I just reput at the right place no longer there, lucky its only 3 skills but..... Go into Kase samething happens. Being in space around New Romulus decide to warp out to sector space, behold, same 3 boff skills missing.

After playing for a while It doesn't always happens, sometimes I can do lot of map change without any problems, other times its one after the other. It seems like if I redid tray in a particular map, it will keep it, for instance didn't have to redo it in subsequent CSE and Kase. But its not always the case, Undine battlezone is one such place, every warp in needs a little fixing to the tray. Luckily out of 6 alt its the only one doing it.

By the way.I train all my boffs at our fleet starbase. I don't use loadout, haven't bothered yet with it.

Hope that helps some poor programmer fix what is becoming a frequent conversation subject in most chat channel I'm subscribed to and not a nice subject from comments.

interessting that some players/ships seem to be more hit with that.
One of my toons, my Nausicaan engineer is experiencing that every other time with his Guremba destroyer - but not so in other ships. So I am not playing the Guremba with this toon anymore.

I have thought about dropping and reclaiming that ship to stop that problem...but haven't done so yet.

My other toons don't have a problem with the Guremba. But occasionly all toons suffer from mixed power trays and BOffs being on strike or going awol.
I have had this problem MUCH more often before S9. There were days, when I played a lot that this would happen an estimated 20 times a day. Now it's 1 a day average (not counting the cursed Guremba).

Just did this yesterday. This always happened on my Odyssey. I discharged the ship and then reclaimed it. This seems to have fixed the issue for now but for those people with this issue on a ship that cannot be reclaimed I don't know what they will do.

    WARNING!!!

-If you decide to discharge your ship make sure you remove all of it's gear before you do this!!
-Also, make sure the ship you are discharging is able to be reclaimed, check the C-store and make sure the ship is "Available."

I wonder when we will hear anything from Cryptic on the status of this issue?

All my ships do the same thing, it affected my trait tree and my active ground/space doff.

Almost every three map changed require me to completely reset my doffs and skill trays.

Traits seem to be ok now.

This happened to me as well. I noticed the traits all turned off once, go figure it was during a mission when I noticed. I don't believe it has happened since the one time but its not something I check at all. If it has happened again they were re-applied but still another issue that needs sorted.

I've been dealing with this for a while, but I have a sort of work-around for this. Set it all up in space (doffs, boffs, powers, etc.), save the loadout, then exit the game (that means close the program). Start it back up and you should be able to go between ground and space with no problems.

This worked for me, thank you so much man, I was about to lose my sh*t.

Workaround that I've had work for me and a few other people with this issue is the following.

Reset your tray to exactly how you want it, BOFF powers, DOFFs, everything.
Save it as a load out, either a new one or over an existing one
Remove one item from your ship, doesn't matter, just pick one
Reload the new loadout you just saved
    Transfer maps
Return to space and check your tray

You should only have to do this once, but so far since I've done this my tray's remained fixed. I hope this helps people dealing with this bug, as this really is game breaking when it occurs.

Thank you, this worked for me. But I'd like to make an amendment (that hopefully adds to the problem solving, on the Dev side).

Try removing an item from your ship that isn't linked to an ability you have on your tray. I removed my Borg Shields for the process mentioned above, and when I completed the process, my Tray was saved. I took note that some of the abilities flickered before actually appearing, save for 1 ability (Assimilated Tractor Beam). All of my other abilities remained as I had configured them, so I took it a step further and tried the process again, but removed an item unrelated to Assimilated Tractor Beam (FOREF, Assimilated Tractor Beam is part of an ability granted by the 3/3 set bonus of the Borg space set). I choose one of my Tactical consoles, and now my tray is completely fixed.

I've changed maps, beamed down and back up, and am about to continue playing as normal. Let's hope this holds. And I sincerely hope this works for others, and also adds to a solution.

    -Xin

even if i missed a post by a dev (i AM NOT reading through the whole thread)

can we get an ETA on the tray bugs (losing trays after going to ground or changing loadouts....or even loadouts TRIBBLE UP in such a way that they arent even close to what was made the loadout)

I just spent the last 10 mins getting my trays all good and in line with keybinds i have specifically for the trays......go to customize my ship and BAM no more great tray....even saved a loadout for it and it just #$@! it up even more lol

Yep I have the same problem too. I tried using the loadout system for the first time to fix it as recommended. Wish I would have read otherwise sooner. However, I've made a new discovery this morning. The hot tray only scrambles with one ship. All my other ships, when I load them, the trays are exactly as want them. Be it my MVA escort, my Galaxy glass, or my Solonae ship, they're all fine. I pull out my assault cruiser refit, and it cannot be described without the word cluster. It seems to be just the one. I haven't looked at my other toons to see if the problem extends there, but from what I've read, it's all across the board. But, as mentioned, it only happens on the one ship. I'll see if I can get rid of the loadout save, see if that fixes anything. Either way, I hope it gets fixed with the next patch.

or not bothering to read previous posts before engaging on a diatribe?

    :

    Arrange the tray as desired

    Save Loadout.

    Switch Starship

    THen Switch back.

You'll have to do this every time you make a change to the actionbar.

I'll tell you what's moronic? Coming back with condescending replies, slapping others around and expecting people to care for what you have to say. Excuse me, your holiness, for not sorting through 1,000,000+ posts. I RARELY use the forums and it's usually because of asinine people like you. I come looking for a fix, I find insults. And if my post gets deleted, it only means that I said something true that somebody else can't handle. Or it just wasn't relevant to the topic at hand and I can respect that. I'll figure it out my damn self, as I usually do in every aspect of my life.

Oh, and by the way, your "solution" didn't work. Upon further investigation, I have found it to be highly NOT recommended. Wish I had found that sooner. Perhaps you can take you own advice and read up on the previous posts regarding that. Cheers mate.

I got a fix for you guys. :)

Everytime you save a loadout for your ship, do the same thing for your shuttle.
It's the shuttle iterfering with the new loadout, by rearanging the icons back to the old one.

    And again, another one.. sigh.

That solution that worked for you didnt work for A LOT of players. And their problems got bigger after that. Please guys stop telling people to do things that ARE ALREADY advised to have catastrophic results on some people or they didnt work at all.

There is not a solution. Period, not until cryptic fixes it.

Its not. The best solution is TO DO NOTHING, until cryptic fixes it. If you prefer to do something random to "try" to fix something that its probably will cause even more problems, go ahead.

Do not get me wrong. For sure, cryptic should take up the matter. But what is better at the moment? manual adjustment icon and doff, each time when we change locations? My temporary solution works. Works on my account and it works also on account of my brother. I'm sure that can temporarily help other players.

I'm experiencing this issue on ALL of my characters. They are Vulcar Telar Ko'Lar and Sekko. It's not as bad on Vulcar's tray as it seems to just be 1 or 2 devices, but on Sekko his entire power bars get scrambled...all 10 bars. Ko'Lar is so bad i have removed everything from all his bars so they are all empty and as soon as i land on Qo'Nos and back to sector space they are all rescrambled so i don't even bother to play on that character only assignments. Not worth spending time every single map sector/orbit/station/ground to remap them.

IMHO this is the biggest bug. But the needs of the one, may outweigh the needs of the many or the few. :P

Has any dev bothered to reply at all? Haven't seen any reply or reply quoted in the many pages I read.

This is the Official Thread for Feedback/Discussion of the current known issue for: Power Tray Slotting Bug

Please reply to this thread if you are experiencing the same issue/bug and want to report the problem to our team. Please keep your posts constructive, and avoid personal violations of our TOS concerning Flamming/Trolling/Harassing other Forum Users, or the staff of Cryptic/PWE. Violations of these rules will result in moderation of your posts/accounts.

    Description of issue/bug:
Power Trays are resetting or going blank after map change. Loadouts are also affected.

We will alert this thread upon Resolution of this problem.

You can find the Master Index of current known issues at this link.

    Thanks for your response CaptainSmirk!

I am having the same issue on my characters. Everything on the power tray that was saved to my loadouts before the bug surfaced stays there when I change maps, but anything that I changed since the bug happened keeps getting overwritten by when I had saved before, even when I save the new configuration to my loadouts. I am really enjoying the loadouts feature and I am confident that Cryptic will have this fixed in no time!
Thanks in advance for your prompt resolution.

It is like this issue is getting worst.

Never had more problems that a few skills dissapearing from my skill try, but now, the last 2 characters i made the past month are unusable because everytime i switch between space / ground, all my skill bar get messed up. Since there is no way im going to re locate all my skills every time i switch zones, those characters are useless and i tried all the ways described in this post. No result ( i didnt care to TRIBBLE it even more since i cant play with those chars anyways).

So, basically we cant even create new characters. Im not going to waste time to see the same problem happens again and again. And basically i am not playing until this gets fixed, since i was focusing my little time in those last characters. And because honestly, my willing to play has decreased soooo much..

    Any news?

I haven't used the Loadout System either, and yet, starting a couple days ago, my Weapons Battery (just the regular old common device) occasionally will leave my Power Tray. If I open my Power List, it's not there. When I open my ship's "character sheet" the Batts are there, but they're greyed out with a little message that says something like "loaded on another ship" (or similar). If I remove it and replace it with another stack of Weapon Batts I can go to my Power List and drag it back to the Power Tray.

I'll try to get a picture/exact text of what happens when it bugs and post it here.
    So this happened:

I was at Starfleet Academy, and I started a DOff assignment when I got this message:

[12:49] [System] [LoadoutItemsMissing] Unable to equip some items from the loadout.

While still on the ground, I opened my ship character sheet and I see my Aux batteries are greyed out and say they are equipped on a different ship. Picture showing text and batts:

    http://i.imgur.com/eRwtIiN.jpg

I've never used the loadout system. I've only got this ship and this equipment set up on this ship. Apparently starting a DOff mission can mess up a non-existant loadout? Strange.

I dragged my stack of batts from my inventory back to my character sheet and the batts ungreyed.

You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

For god sake, STOP USING THE LOADOUT SYSTEM. You guys will never learn.. seriously. In the moment you SAVE anything using the loadout system for the first time, the try is broken forever. There are thousands of posts about this... z.

I have never used the load system, and still I have this trouble on some alts, but not on others.
Actually I only have it on klingon sided alts only when I come to think of it.

I guess Cryptic just hate KDF. :P

I actually mad another KDF sided alt to see if same thing happened, and supprise it did..... along with a lot of other bugs like that I did not get access to armor in tailor until level 30-ish, KDF combat environment suit is always visible, seduce race power not available until somewhere between level 20 to 30 for the the new orion alt and probably a few more that did not bug me that much.

It is only the space power tray that is bugged, and it changes when moving between ground and space, but not when in same scenario (mission) and not always. Wish it was more constant so one could say it always happen when doing x or y, but it does not seam to do that.
Edit: In Night of the comet tray scrambled when I when from ground to space. :o

what have you done to the KDF side?

A note though, the power tray bug seam to have stopped on my level 50 KDF alt for some reason... well at least since patch last week. Did not appear during entire weekend.

that is due to the fact the loadout system is also connected to the Doff system ,
the systems that the loadout system connects too are Ship equipment,Boff powers and Doff system.
you change anything in those areas also effects the loadout system , whether you set up active loadouts or not .

Not sure if this is quite the same but it's similar...

I started a shuttle event after just finishing one, and it said some of my equipment was 'equipped on another ship'. I tried to get them back but they weren't available. So I switched new equipment into the shuttle and carried on. At the end I go back to my default ship and the equipment says 'Equipped on another ship'. Except it isn't. So I click 'Loadout' and then my equipment goes completely blank. It's not in my bank/account bank or anything. 2xcritd x3 weapons, plasmonic leech, lobi console, reputation equipment... all gone... the little box that comes up when you click a slot no longer has the item in it.

Please fix or roll back character.

Was working okay for me for a long time until latest patch and shuttle event. Probably due to things I have done. This game needs a rollback to previous settings :D I deleted a shuttle and added it back in with another.... much worst then the old glitches by deleting ships.

Just on JHDC and nothing wants to stick. Hmm, created a second loadout.. might test some more since I have only ever used one loadout on a ship. Done some ground missions again which I haven't done for a long time with boffs and the skills keep being put in the tray even though i move them to another row and save. Also, beamed down to mining station and got an extra [Subspace Field Modulator]

Also, almost all of my traits were removed?? Patch or because I deleted ships?

How can assigned doffs be sent on missions?? Just had a popup in game (on ground) well after assigning the doffs and was in my ship at the time. Warped to ds9 in ship, went to bank, beamed up to space and assigned boffs to mission then exited to sector, went to mining station, started this post and 5 min after there was a popup telling me the doffs hadn't been assigned.

EDIT: Forgot to say that my ground tray gets items removed as well. Devices.
