Hey guys. I joined the channel today and to be honest it was a breath of fresh air
The members there are friendly and courteous and the games we had were great fun. It was so refreshing to feel like part of "trek" again rather than rolfstomping everything in a couple of minutes and having to apologise for dieing.
The conversation was light-hearted, stimulating,friendly and clean, with a light RP element. A far cry from the "conversation" on esd for example.
My only sore point was being given fleet command on SB24 and dropping so many frames I could barely command nmy camera lol! Apologies for that.
I'm still finding my way with sto rp and the members there were patient, and helpful in that regard.
You have my complete support (such as it is). And any spare moment spent not tending to fleet matters will be spent in that channel.
I'm totally up for your dominion pvp idea, would breen ships be acceptable in this engagement also? As they were pretty involved in the dominion war. I would happily lend either of my breen ships or my jem dread for this, (I'm a big dominion fan).
I will endeavour to create a more balanced build to fit in with the guys there more, and try and dig out at least a tier 3 ship to run with when I have 5mins.

Just curious, why is the B'rel being excluded from the KDF? It's the only canon Bird-of-Prey design, even if they were scaling them up on screen by then.
I'm definitely interested in this, I'll sign up as Fed-Romulan but I can also be KDF if needed.

I guess I should clarify, the B'Rel Retrofit (the one with the Enhanced Cloaking Device) is not being allowed as the only one ever built was in ST:VI Undiscovered Country. And well, we all know what happened to that one.

I guess I should clarify, the B'Rel Retrofit (the one with the Enhanced Cloaking Device) is not being allowed as the only one ever built was in ST:VI Undiscovered Country. And well, we all know what happened to that one.
And I knew I was forgetting a ship. The Excelsior is allowed for Federation.
How about using the B'Rel without using that cloak? Also, the Centaur should be allowed too should it not?
I'll put myself down for being in the Klingon faction if I can use my B'Rel retrofit minus cloak, and if not, I'll go on the Fed.

Greetings, fellow Captains and Generals.
First, I would like to welcome all the new members to the STB Channel and wish you Good Luck as you make our fights worthy of Praises (or songs, depending on your faction).
Second, I have seen the numerous posts here in the forums expressing interest in recreating some of the battles of the Dominion War. The only way I really see this happening is by creating a scheduled PvP match for around 1 month from today (May 22nd, 2014). Would like to see it happen on June 19th, 2014, Time of Day to Be Determined.
It will either be 5v5, or if possible, 10v10. And, there will be very specific rules (see below), not guidelines, put in place as well. Ships will also be limited to what was available during that time.
As it is easier to fill the Federation side (KDF and RR will have to be separate matches), Applications for the Jem'Hadar/Cardassian/Breen Alliance will be taken first. Please let me know which Faction you have either a Jem'Hadar/Cardassian/Breen ship on so I can set the matches up. Also, I need to know which ship you'll be flying.

- For BOFF abilities, I suggest we just go Ensign across the board? OR if we do LT. don't use TT and make the torpedo abilities as the LT slot and beam abilities Ensign. My belief is this will just make it more even.
- Terms of the abilities as well make them single target ones and NO AOE
- Can we limit how many wins it takes to finish the match? Just thinking of time restraints
That's all I can think of ATM but if I may add 1 more thing... let's keep it clean and fun and do it with a high level of respect. If you win you win if you lose you lose.... this should again just be about enjoying ST THAT'S IT.

Depends on the size of the match. 5v5 = 5 losses, 10v10 = 10 losses. Other than that, I think the standard set up is 15 losses before match ends.

Depending on how many sign up, we may be able to run multiple times, changing toons/factions as we go. Hardest part I think will be filling the Jem'Hadar. I don't want too many Dreadnaughts in a single match (too much firepower to match).
Time and date are yet to be finalized, but I am aiming for sometime between the 19 to 21st of June.

Just curious why the MVAE is allowed yet the Soveriegn is not. The Sovereign was developed earlier than the Prometheus, in fact the Enterprise-E was launched before the Prometheus was. Neither was seen in any of the Dominion battles, though.
Edit: can we use the Escort (Saber and variants)? It was seen onscreen in the war. I have the t5 non fleet version on one of my alts and use it regularly, not many people use it, though.

We could further limit the B'Rel Retrofit to just a single Torpedo Launcher fore and aft. Then no one could use the EBC anyway without severely gimping himself.
Just some thoughts, in the end it's up to you of course!

Also wanted to throw this out to you Captain Emira regarding the set PvP. Depending on how the first go if being OP is a concerns we can also consider limiting how many fore and aft weapons are used, maybe going 3/3?
I also wanted to throw out for more screen accuracy using the 1 beam fore and aft configuration. I know I have been trying to preach it but it really looks good IMO.
Anyways... hopefully there will be a time/times where it can work for everybody so that all interested can attend.
I was worried about how to set up my jem dread specifically so as not to make it too OP. I have one hangar of elite jem fighters and one of advanced. Would it be acceptable to only launch the advanced? Or should I go out and buy some regulars? Ill probably chat to you more ingame about balancing my builds more suitably as although my dps was parsed as acceptable I did feel a little too well kitted to fit the team. If there is a firepower concern with jem dreads in there perhaps limiting the number of those ships or limiting weapoms numbers would help balance things.
I hope I am available for this as it sounds great. If there are other dread captains that would like to participate perhaps we could take it in turns if we run more than one event? I'd happily switch out to a chell grett for a game too let another captain have his dread in the fight.

For those who already signed up, your handles were added to the list under the areas you stated. Most were General interest.
Also, found out that it won't matter what faction you're apart of as they did change the PvP arenas to have mixed factions, so it doesn't matter what faction you have the cross-faction ships on. Cross Faction Ships are the JHAS, JHEC, JHDC, Galor, and Chel Grett Cruiser.

I postponed this long enough, till today that is, when i went to borg incursion using dw reenactment specced ship. I dont have to tell you how fun it was, so naturally i want in. This could easily bring me back to game (didnt play much since s9 went live, basically login, logout).

I can offer the Chel Grett on the Breen side. (I propose to allow the Energy Dissipator as it was prominently featured in DS9.)
If you need ships on the Fed/KDF/Rom side I have several, so really open to any position that needs to be filled!
list looks great, dont forget about the excelsior class as well, was lots of those in the various cgi scenes in the episodes.
