    You Guys like the Sig?
(im still gonna tweak it a little :P )
None of us use voice chat to my knowledge. The centaur isn't as close to the angle as te other 3... But I can't change the angle. Maybe ill put a diff ship there.

    Captains 07

Wow that is an AWESOME sig!

Thank you for trying to get STB out there.

If I may suggest, maybe in place of the Centaur use the Saber class? I think it's the nacelles throwing it off but other than that it's AWESOME!

We do have access to TS to those who would rather talk than type. If you want the info LMK and I can give that to anyone who may want it.

    - Parsers CAN in fact be used as a tool to adjust builds as required. DPS CAN range from anywhere from 3k - 7k but that is STILL subject to change and that will mostly be up to the individual but I think 5k - 6k is the sweet spot for now.

I was wondering when the thread came up, and still am. If I use a captain ship with MK X weapons, torp front and aft, and do more than those 7k, I have to... adjust my build even more so I do less than 7k? Only for the purpose of not throwing other ppl off with my dps?
I mean doing dps and bragging about it are two different things, and doing them in sub-optimal builds are even a challenge so to say. With given rules even more. So I am really curios atm.

I've seen the defiant destroying numerous Dominionships in short sequence and doubt that was due to lucky hits or the Enterprise disabling a galor with little effort...

    Greetings Captain 07

Well I sometimes even find that 7K is a bit much at times say in ISE for example. The purpose of downing the DPS is so that we enjoy the mission but also encourage teamwork and maybe a little challenge. There's nothing like trying to kill a cube and all of your heals are used up and now all you have to rely on is your team mates to keep you alive.

Regarding some of the scenes from DS9, yes you see a lot of one shot kills in DS9 and but translating that into the game... well you get those 2 mins ISE that we are NOT trying to do. We really want to feel like her earned those marks in the end.

Not sure if I answered your question or created more... but either way I'd be more than happy to discuss them with you here or in game.

Look forward to hearing from you.

One thing I am curious about is if it is acceptable to run a canon D'deridex Warbird in the STB chanel as I understand there is some controversy about the Romulans being too powerful.

The D'deridex is one of my favorite ships from the next generation you see and I would like to run it the way it was in the show.

    Thank you for your question.

There is NO problem running a DD in STB. I have a Rom and he don't do well but he's not tricked out as much as my older characters.... which is perfect as it's a challenge for him to stay alive.

All one needs to do is just fly what they want to fly and have fun. As mentioned in the guidelines.. ANY ship can be flown as long as race specific weapons are used and your not melting the poor NPC's.

If you want an invite to the channel just let me know here or contact me in game @trizeo1

Finally players that have sense! and see this is a Star Trek game! (and actually have some skill and can play without ridiculous DPS)

    My character handle is @Dailas

Erm, the @handle was already provided, 6 days ago. At least I think it is 6 days. American timing and dating system on the forum really confuses me.

    I see Thank you

So it would be acceptable to even fly my Nicor if I use Fluidic Antiproton Weapons?
I would think not since it doesn't seem "canon" enough.

Going to interject here. I have a couple "enemy ships" that I fly with STB, just for the fun. Our number one goal is having fun with each other, and sometimes that means it can be crazy/free for all.

However, sometimes there will be "themed" runs, like Enterprise or Voyager, or all cruisers/escorts, or a wide variety of other things.

My suggestion is to keep a few ships in your shipyard that you deem "canon" (Federation shipyard, phasers ect. ect.) and if you feel like using something else or testing a different build, ask.

Obviously Trizeo may have a different opinion on this then I do, but these are just my observations from being a part of the channel for a few weeks.

    Fly well, Captains.

We already have a captain that flies a Nicor, it's fine. All ships are allowed. As duskstrider101 said, sometimes we do themed runs and obviously you want to try to match the theme there, but for the majority of our runs, you can just fly whatever you want to.

Actually, one thing I've wanted to see since they first revealed the Nicor is an all Nicor run of the Borg STFs. Don't have a bioship myself, so I couldn't participate, but I'd love to see screenshots/video from one.

Yes you can fly the Nicor and use the fluidic AP weapons. As mentioned there is are some who fly Undine ships and are able to have low DPS still. In terms of "canon", Im not quite sure what they used but you don't have to research the heck out of it. A good guide is to use the weapons the ship came with.

Also leave your in game handle or contact me in game to talk about joining in on the fun 07

Yes we do try to have themed runs which encourages some to use ships they have but would never think of flying in an ISE... 5 man Connie run anyone? hahahaha

The goal again is to keep the DPS down while trying to emulate the screen battles in ST.

As for your ship choice Captain... I heard te Recluse is a beast of a ship but he also a Rom so would he not fly the Tal Shiar Cruiser?

In the end it's your choice as long as you fly what YOU want to fly.

Although the playable Romulan ships in the game come with Plasma weaponry and originally they used disruptors.
I'm planning on using disruptors for my canon D'deridex if that's alright.

I though if I joined I would have to refrain from using my Nicor; luckily I see I don't have to do so.

The great thing about STB is that you can call out whatever run you want. Personally I hate non-faction ships. I can always call out a "Canon Ship - Run" or, as, I love flying my T2 Exeter a "T1-2 Run"

Trizeo was pretty non-restrictive when he started this, as it's primarily about having fun together and feeling like you are a captain in the Star Trek Universe. Our official Cap is what? 5-7k in ISE?
Most Captains try to get much lower than that just because it's more fun to finish an STF with a build that it is inferior, or relies on crosshealing.
We have done T1 runs, T1-2 runs, TOS-TMP runs. (full ENT run is still missing!)

Personally I think you should have at least one Canon Federation Ship. There's nothing like storming in with a UFP Task Force all sporting Phasers, Photons and Quantums.
We do however all have Alts on the Klingon side, and I think most have Roms as well. We actually had a lot of fun with a team full of D7s and B'Rels.

I'm planning on using disruptors for my canon D'deridex if that's alright.

Well if it were up to me, which it's not, I'd say no to plasma on Romulan ships. Romulans firing cyan beams/pulses is just wrong! Haha! But Disruptors (all flavors), plasma, and Romulan plasma are all acceptable weapons for STB builds, since they're all game canon. I prefer the look of disruptors personally, but occasionally bring out my Romulan plasma since...well, I paid for it back when I cared about DPS, so why not?

Good priorities, unlike some of us, hehe. Looking forward to flying with you in the future. :)

I was just concerned about being able to use my Nicor from time to time since I did spend a fortune for it but I can assure you I'm planning on having a collection of quite a few canon federation vessels such as the Prometheus, Akira, Sovereign, Galaxy, Nova.
Along with other non canon Federation ships like the new patrol escort.

I agree, plasma doesn't seem to fit the Romulan colour scheme.
I also plan on building a moderate Scimitar build based around how it was in Nemesis without having ridiculous DPS.
