I'd be onboard with a liberated Donatra as well. It would be quite a refreshing break from all that Undine panic to have a quick side mission, where you rehabilitate Donatra from her experiences with the Collective.
This^^^^^
And I'd pay Cryptic 5000 ZEN for the permission to play an episode where Obisek is assimilated but liberates himself by sheer badassdom.
Also, to the guy who said that Morn would be kicked out of the Borg Collective after 24 hours: Dude. You underestimate Morn's awesomeness. They'd run screaming from him after 20 minutes.

-ahem-
I said no such thing as "after 24 hours," I clearly said:
I think Morn would be the first being ever assmilated by the Borg, only to be "liberated" within 12 hours- by the Borg. Morn's too much for the Collective by far.
"...within 12 hours." Within. As in at the absolute most, they might be able to take it for 12 hours but he'd more likely be run off before then- like in 5 or 10 minutes flat. But those Borg tend to be a bit stubborn, so I allowed for some leeway.
I keep seeing "the Borg have been done to death", but in reality we only get to see them in a few missions at the beginning, a few as Admirals, and STFs.
Could it be that people are Borg-weary because of having to endlessly repeat STFs to grind for reputation?
Well Picard is still alive, he's an ambassador I believe now, I think he should be re-assimilated into the collective. Makes perfect sense to me
Actually no, he's retired and living in France at this point. Spent a few years as the ambassador to Vulcan, but the poor guy's like a hundred and four by now. His asskicking days are done, sorry.

Not to mention kicking back a check to Mr. Stewart.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!
(paraphrased from "The Newsroom)
As long as it's just an easter egg. The assimilated NPC could just be a random drone you take out in a new mission or something. Pulling another Picard or Donatra would be too much IMO. Just because a drone was important before assimilated doesn't mean the Borg will give them a high designation.
Send her out in a blaze of glory, breaking the Borg connection just long enough to let us wipe out the cube that's about to launch an assimilation probe at a key point.

Kinda like what Data said about Picard in First Contact: "He will make an excellent drone."

If there's anyone who I WANT to see being more badass than my character, it's Obisek.
Guy's like Rambo, the Terminator, and...some badass freedom fighter all rolled into one.
That's why I named my Reman after him.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Liberated Donatra would be very interesting, Especially given her significance in the Path to 2409, her character has an existing depth we just don;t see in game.
Also I wonder, if she were to join the Republic, how she would feel about an alliance with Remans after her experinces with Shinzon and his reman shock troops , could we see some bad blood between her and Obisek?
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......

Bah some new nanoprobes will fix that old age of his in a jiffy.
On topic, Voyager shows up once and everybody is all hot for Borg once more. You guys know Jeri Ryan won't come back for 9.5, right? We may just get Tom Paris or Harry Kim.

Dude, who gives a sh*t about Jeri Ryan? I just wanna see Obisek get assimilated and liberate himself with pure badassness.
I agree with the no more Borg crowd, save for the instance that we somehow manage to retcon away FC/VOY Borg and get real Borg into the game (which means a Borg encounter consists of one cube that has to be fought by an entire fleet). Other than that, Borg have been ridiculed to no end. They became boring zombies, liberating people seems to be business-as-usual in STOs 25th century and generally I'd wish to see a more interesting enemy with some kind of motivation.
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^

"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
I agree that Sulu would be the best Starfleet candidate. He'd need to be brought into a story mission though(for those who join the game after he disappears to know who he is). It'd be cool if he got his own ship or something just before getting assimilated.
But alas, the Borg should be done with by now. I really am kind of sick of them. They're pretty much the perfect example of "villain decay". I want an enemy that isn't either an unstoppable force or an enemy hidden in shadows. I think a "Captain Ahab" storyline could be cool, considering it's a story that comes up a lot in Star Trek. A missed opportunity was the new tutorial not leading to a new first episode where we hunt for the guy who killed the Captain.

When Starfleet first encountered the Borg, one cube vs and entire fleet was rational. They were a new and more advanced enemy with different motivations from the usual enemies. Over time, though, it was the Federation/Klingons/Romulans who adapted to them, and the Borg were not able to adapt to that reality. The Borg are yesterday's villain. They are not the threat they once were, not so much because they changed, but because we did.

It would be interesting to see what kind of a role Captain Ogen, Rebecca Simmons, Armek, Donatra, Tosk, etc. would have in STO had they not been assimilated.

I think you can still find some of the NPC you mentioned when you visit the Captains Table.

Of course they'd notice him. Morn is EXTREMLY chatty and never shuts up. He just never does that on screen. (which is the actual gag about him)
