While interesting, don't see it happening for a while. The Borg's arc is pretty much done.
There's still the possibility that it could happen in season 9.5 when we delve deeper into the Delta Quadrant which is pretty much the Borg's back yard
I doubt anything like this would happen for a while. People have dealt with the Borg for years and are just flipping tired of them. More likely we'll see *shudder* Kazon before we revisit the Borg again...
When we get to the Delta Quadrant, I vote we see Neelix having been assimilated by the Borg.

We already lost Egg to the Undine. Do we need to lose someone to the Borg too?
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

I vote for Obisek. :P
Kazon? Cryptic should give us Vidiian. The Leaper Colony Carrier, launches 3 Organ Harvesters, 20% chance of stealing your liver.
I vote for Shon, getting his blue tentacles harvested.
Given the direction the STO storyline is going, we're more likely to have a main character* turn out to have been an Undine sleeper agent all this time than to have one get assimilated.
I was thinking the same thing. The real Cooper gets assimilated and then replaced by the Undine.

No thanks. I'm sick and tired of the Borg. They've been overused and need to all die in a fire.

Depends. Do you think we can maintain the impact of a long-trusted and known character being turned against us?
I think for new players, something like this can now happen - they first play that mission where Rebecca Simmons (was that her name?) decides to analyze the Borg subspace technology and gets lost, and then they'll see her again when she's assimilated. That could work for new players. (And on new players, Egg is lost - they don't know the old Starbase and his position there.)
It might have more impact if she was brought up more often in earlier missions? Say, integrate her in the first mission around the Devidian Comet as part of the Starfleet task force?

I'm sorry, was I supposed to care about Egg getting replaced? Because I didn't even remember that the guy existed.
EDIT: And that, I think, is a bad thing. If Cryptic expects us to care that so-and-so gets assimilated or replaced, they need to actually develop the character before killing them off.

Captain Rebecca Simmons of the USS Venture.
Commander Donatra of the IRW Valdore.
Almost; Ja'rod son of Lursa of the IKS Kang.
these are pretty big fish, but if you are asking for the likes of Tuvok being assimilated during a mission, the answer is most probably no. i dont think CBS would approve or Tim Russ himself, to see his on screen character turn into a mindless drone, again.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

e'genn was in the middle of the previous esd near the respec trainer, from e'genns prospective the respec trainer was on the left of this large circular console. when you first get the mission to goto memory alpha, your contact is e'genn. its been such a long time ago, im surprised anyone remembers such an interaction.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I keep hoping they'll actually go somewhere with this one day. I really doubt it'll happen, though.

Have Quinn assimilated , and we go save him.
--Admiral T'nae and Ambassador Suighara should be assimilated because the one is a Romulan-hating racist moron and the other is a long-winded bore.
--Neelix should be assimilated, and we have to kill him. Over and over again.
