I tried the Mirror Dhelor Retrofit, but didn't have too much survivability, changed out for the Ha'apax Advanced Warbird and seem to do a little better with that...maybe I had the Dhelan set up wrong.
In your opinion what is your best bargain ship out there to buy? Whether it requires only 500 zen or just your time in the form of a fleet ship for 200,000 fleet credits. Try not to give just the cheapest ship but the ship that gives the most bang for your buck.
Most of the MU ships are super cheap on the Exchange. The new Nova sci ship from the Undine box is <100k EC.
From early in the game I'd say the Rhode Island refit - enjoyed that little ship so much that I used it right up to the end of Tier 4, when swapped for the T4 Intrepid.
And furthermore, enjoyed it so much that I purchased the Fleet Rhode Island (Nova) the moment it became available. And I continue to enjoy THAT ship to this day.
That one's a beaut. Best sci vessel in the game short of a tricked-out Vesta.
I found Mirror Qin to be one of the best KDF ships until I saved up for my Mogh. Regardless of the strange placement of the turn-pivot point, I never had a problem with it (PVE, mind you.)
Please reconsider ARC. Please make it optional, at the least. PLEASE.
It seems the vast majority of your most active players (forum regulars) hate the idea... and while that's a small subset of the playerbase, I think it's an important constituency.
THE PLAYERS DO NOT WANT THIS.
maybe, but they are far from ideal as everyone goes up a step towards other ships when they can, it writes up a tonne as far as t4.5 ships are concerned. a solid t5 is a better choice, except the likes of galaxy class types.
Maybe, but you don't need a T5. T4.5's will serve you well throughout endgame.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.
- Enjoy the strengths of a solid Cruiser with the flexibility of having a LtCdr SCI station.
- Of hilarious note, it is practically the equal of the Fleet Failaxy-X and has more firepower than the Fleet Failaxy. The TAC station makes the Failaxy look like a sinking tugboat while it also rivals the Failaxy-X "Dreadnought" (and I use the term "Dreadnought" loosely for the Failaxy-X). The only shortcoming for the Mirror Hvy Cruiser is -1 TAC station. But when you have the next point, it doesn't matter...
- Base Turn Rate 8. Good turn rate for a Beamboat with a Torp if you want. It changes direction in a prompt manner. The ship moves and turns very well to present its weapons quickly and at the proper place. Not like the Failaxys.
- Of hilarious note, it has more flexibility, comparatively equal firepower & survivability, and superior handling than any of the Failaxy variants
- If you can get alot of Subsystem Power on this puppy, this ship is simply amazing. Hell, give it Hyper-Impulse Engines and watcher her go! All while firing weapons of respectable Weapons Power and slinging SCI abilities with respectable Aux Power.
The Mirror Heavy Cruiser is very flexible in build and playstyle. It handles wonderfully. THIS is what the Fleet Heavy Cruiser should have been in BOFF setup. To top it off, last I saw it's dirt cheap. It helps fill a niche in the Fed Cruiser lineup, namely Cruiser-SCI aligned ships. Only the Odyssey fills the role, but the Mirror gives a very good roster spot for this kind of job.
The Mirror Heavy Cruiser is the complete, inexpensive package.
The Mirror Negh'Var is everything the Mirror Heavy Cruiser has but +1 turn rate and having standard cloak. However, it goes for millions on the exchange. Because of this, the Mirror Hvy Cruiser is a wonderful steal.
Pretty much any of the "Mirror" ships are a good investment, it just comes down to plays style, and adjusting your play to suit the ship ...
As an example, I got a Mirror Qin for a few hundred K EC, and my Tac KDF couldn't make it work, it just didn't seem to have any 'killing power'... Until I swapped one of the Neutronium Consoles, for an EPS console ... Suddenly BAM! Damage skyrocketed!
Mirror Patrol Escort
-Hard to go wrong with a Patrol Escort, and they come fairly cheap.
Mirror Negh'var
-It's a great all-purpose bridge layout in a classic Klingon wrapper, although these usually run about a million EC a pop on the exchange.
Avenger and/or Mogh
-No gimmicky 3-set items and despite their appearance, they are solid ships with a lot of flexibility and growing room.
Romulan ships are quite nice and all, but I don't really think I've found any so far that I consider a 'bargain'. The Haakona is probably the closest due to it's flexibility of letting you fly as a 'cruiser', 'escort' or 'science ship' at the press of a button.
I did not like Federation Escorts until I got this ship. It doesn't pack as much punch as the Defiant but since it's Tactical-Science. You can more then make up for it.
I got a mirror nova the other day for about 60,000 ec's. I have other better endgame c-store ships but so far I'm happy with it.
MU ships are a bargain when you consider the Prime versions you get from the vendor are 200k dilithium. (If I remember right.) 200k Dil is roughly 1500 Zen. You can almost buy a T5.5 C-store ship (good for multiple toons) for the price of one plain old T5 vendor ship.
MU ships are a bargain, indeed. They may not be on-par with C-Store ships or fleet ships, but any of them can bu used for what passes for an endgame in STO. And the last two rounds of Mirror ships have been especially interesting. Hoping for a Mirror Saber in the next lockbox.
Before I got my Adapted Battle Cruiser my Romulan engineer was flying a mirror Ha'pax and I loved it dearly. Great for a support role if You enjoy being a healer and able to take a hit
My next mirror wish... a mirror version of voyager.
The Mirror Ships are great, expically love the Mirror Heavy Cruiser Retrofit and Mirror Negh'var. If theres any issues with those two is that the Mirror Negh'var is around 3 Mil+ on the Exchange currently. But both those 2 have the BOFF layouts of the Ambassader Retrofit/Kamarag Retrofit and swap out an Engineering Console slot for a Science Console slot.
For me: Romulan Dyson Destroyer, the freebie we just got. Great ship.
KDF: Mogh and B'rel Refit
FED: Vesta, Avenger, Assault regent refit.
Granted some cost zen, but those ship are amazing.

I used to use the Mirror Ha'apax on my Romulan. It was great for tanking, but I really hated the turn rate. I recently switched to the Mirror Mogai (it can be found on the exchange for less than 1000000 EC) and I'm in love with it. A little squishy, but it's really nice.
Call me Yuka~
~Vice Admiral Saskia - U.S.S. Muenzuka (Dyson Science Destroyer)~
~Lieutenant General Kalinka - I.K.S. Kazami (Negh'Var Heavy Battlecruiser)~
~Vice Admiral Lorel - R.R.W. Aureus Aquila (Mirror Mogai Heavy Warbird)~
Best deal KDF side is the Hegh'ta Bird of Prey. FREE with the token, and great fun if you like BoPs. Maybe the absolute best lvl40 ship this side of the Hafeh warbird, and arguably better than the Hafeh (which is a one-trick ship).
Buy a Mirror ship for all the other limited choices if you need them. Voquv, Neghvar, Qin, Vorcha, Somraw. You must have the Hegh'ta.
For those that have weighed in here, I thought about really going off the deep end here and getting the Ody 3-pack. I made another post topic that leads into that here:
For me: Romulan Dyson Destroyer, the freebie we just got. Great ship.

With the price tag on some, no all of those i have a hard time regarding them as bargains.
Effective as they may be, a bargain they are not in my opinion.
Personally i like the Mirror ships, especially the mirror escorts and mirror nova.
As for the C-store, the Nova refit is certainty a best buy. Cheap and pack a punch.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Maybe, but you don't need a T5. T4.5's will serve you well throughout endgame.
not from what i have seen, t4.5s cant really survive for very long without some assistance with the step up in stuff that is around. its far better to spend your time going for a ship you can use, not some trash like a t4.5 ship if it can be helped. i know because i used a t4.5 assault cruiser for 3 years before i replaced it a few months ago, it was getting outperformed, left right and center.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

I do wish the refit versions of these were ever available again.
They're both excellent ships, but they've never been available since the player appreciation before last.
Mind you, fleet versions are available with a tier 3 shipyard......and they're both awesome sauce on a cracker.
KDF - Vandal Destroyer it has the Leach
FED - Logout create a KDF Romulan
So funny, you can run "effective" ESTFs with common equipment. And you dont need to waste a single EC. Still with the same song.. lol.
For me, the best bargain was the Breen warship, free and it only took me about 1 month. Just amazing. Its performance is, well, awesome.
I tried the Mirror Dhelor Retrofit, but didn't have too much survivability, changed out for the Ha'apax Advanced Warbird and seem to do a little better with that...maybe I had the Dhelan set up wrong.

It's also a POS...
Good mirror ships, like the MU Negh'var, are just over a million. Mirror Dhelan is good, sort of like a fast Mogai retrofit without the consoles.

For the Feds, easily, hands down, the Mirror Heavy Cruiser.
