You know, I'm sort of okay with the restriction of swimwear to Risa.

Why would you want to wear swimwear anywhere other than Risa? It isn't appropriate on ESD, it's too cold on Andoria, and you'd probably get mistaken for a prostitude on Drozana or K7.

Leave the swimwear for the beach ... just significantly reduce the price.

how is that less appropriate than wearing pijamas like tholian robes or having fluorscent pets.

My Caitian uses 'swimwear' (Off Duty Robes: Robe Basic and Off Duty Pants: Risian Explorer Outfit (the ankle long pants, not the short shorts)) as her main outfit as it allows her to run around barefoot.

If I could get that foot option in any other outfit, I'd use that instead. But Cryptic won't allow it (at least based on Live right now).

So yes, I'm all for allowing players to wear 'swimwear' no matter where they are in the galaxy.

So am I. I don't really get all this fuss around this, I swear STO forum people will complain about the siliest things while ignoring much bigger things.

People complain about not being able to wear swimware outside of Risa...

But there is thunderous applause when Cryptic nerfs the rep system.

I am going to be sick.

Everyone have their pet peeves or wants. Mine was the Be'Ves KHG armor option, waiting for the Constellation-class to get here (here's hoping for Captain Picard Day on June 16th!), and a 'Cinematic Reenactment' mode. Oh and the mis-aligned Phaser Lance but that will probably be fixed in season 9.5.

It's stupid to wear a winter coat in the middle of a desert and that's not stopping anyone.

The winter coats aren't restricted, and now the armor and kit options aren't restricted anymore. Why would they put so much effort into these items and expect us to grind for them if we cant use them 90% of the year?

I agree. But let people to decide that, ok? lol.

People knows that a swinswuit in nimbus III is a bad idea, but they need to have the choice to use it or not.

Limiting a costume to a zone is a terrible idea, it doesnt matter if it is a swimsuit or a t. well, i will stop right there.

Because for many, it's actually a good thing that we have to strategically choose what we use in combat, rather than have everyone who's grinded them all be OP, and those who haven't the time to do so be at a big disadvantage

It levels the playing ground, to a degree. But agreed a little on the swimwear aspect

P.S. And if you think a few people not paying (or whatever) over that is gonna change their overall profit, then... well, good luck imo

I hope they give us an extra costume slot made specifically for use on Risa. We set up a costume in that slot and when we beam down, we are automatically changed to that slot and vice versa when you beam out. If you don't want to wear that outfit, you can change to one of your normal slots.

Why would you want to run around in swimwear anyways? I don't get it. Just want to see an avatar in skimpy type clothes? This is a Star Trek MMO where you fly around complete missions, do PvPs and blow things up, if you want to see skimpky clothes or nudity go watch pron?

teenage boys not getting their ultimate fantasy, this one(OP) is clearly tossed his dummy out the pram. ignore the OP otherwise it will turn into a trollfest if it keeps up. keep the restrictions in place, move it along now.

I can understand it not being usable in a Uniform slot, but it should be like any other Off Duty outfit.

That explanation makes absolutely zero sense, nor does the restriction.

I mean what do we have an OFF DUTY categroy for???

Its no more ridiculous running around on missions in bikini/speedo's than it is running around doing them in formal wear.

Ah yes the old TRIBBLE argument. How quickly those with short vocabularies fall back on insulting each others penises. Has it ever occurred to you ever thought I might want to see a pair of glistening glistening pecks? Glorious steel abs flexing in the sun? Some nice manly oiled buns?

How quickly you jump to conclusions. Shame on you. Shame on you. :(

Yeah, I'm not sure why I would grind for an outfit that I can only wear for an event that requires that I grind for an outfit and other stuff. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

I guess Starfleet/Klingon/Romulan captains running around in swimwear made less sense than Starfleet/Klingon/Romulan captains flying around in Undine ships. :P

Seriously though, if you're going to make a game where you throw sense out the window for the sake of giving players options... don't then turn around and restrict our options because of what makes sense.

I mean, that just makes no sense!
