How about giving subscribers an extra rep trait slot?!? . . . what, too soon?
That's not the best way to monetize it.

I fully expect to see the next fleet holding with a +1 passive/+1active rep traits slot. Or a Cstore option.

What needs to improved for LTS? Like specifically what are the problems with the sub that need improving?

Nothing "needs" to be improved. But by adding new stuff they might motivate additional players to subscribe or to become a LTS. A discount on services would be nice for example, or something like a 20% boost on fleet marks. That being said I expect nothing but will be thankful for everything ;)

I am still on the fence when it comes to LTS, have been tempted but not sure its worth the cost, the ships dont seem that great, would love the lib borg, but tbh is a single character type worth 200 quid.

I always thought STOWiki was kinda done by them so was kinda accurate :-s

Nope... Wiki's by definition is community based content.
I completely agree on the first part, but it sounded based on his phrasing as if it was already planned and considering how long it takes Cryptic to make things, for it to be put here it would need to have been in development already I would think.

Problem is, that DStahls "plans" have always been too grandiose... "One galaxy to rule them all" springs to mind?

as far as it being credible info, most of the time it is.. they have links to the actual statement, (usually forums/twitter/podcast ).

its only unreliable info when there is no link to the original dev statement.. but you can read that site and get usefull data..

now what makes it unreliable is the fact that the devs open their mouths a lot, say they are doing something, then we never see it lol.. so infact , you can say all info that comes from a dev, weather its on these forums, or on the wiki is "unreliable" info.

its another example of the shining competence of the cryptic dev team..

Linking to a twitter feeds dosen't make it reliable. It just makes it seem more creditable.

As long as it dosen't really link to some kind of document, image or something else that proves the existence of an ongoing development process, it's not accurate data.

Many MANY important pages out there are lacking info... Take for example the Season lists on season pages... Please point me to Season 1.5?

And again... The wiki is made by players... not Cryptic.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Not great? The heavy destroyers are awesome. Five BOFF-seats, two of which are universal, make them very versatile. They have the same hull strength as the JHAS which makes them tanky escorts and the lotus ability is like forward BFAW on steroids. The Peghqu' heavy destroyer is my favourite Klingon ship. Battle cloak FTW!

Now that the game is no longer sub based I'd strongly advise taking time and thinking carefully about getting an LTS.

Do your own research. Don't let other people confuse your decision with their opinions. There are people around here that will mislead you because the facts don't support their opinions.

Now if the only thing you like about the LTS is the Lib Borg, don't get it.

However if you decide to get it, WAIT until it goes on sale again.

Ironically, your post is heavily tainted by what seems to be distaste for subs?

However, I am in agreement with sopwithsnipe:

IF your only interest is the gimmicks, you're better off getting the items in the C-Store... Trust me, you can do without the Chimera/KDF/Rom equivalents.

If you want to make a generous donation, and get some shines for it in the process, believing that it will benefit the game, then yes, wait for a sale, and get the LTS.

I wouldnt say no to the ships and I would love the borg officer option, but I have heard others are not getting their stipends and I am not sure of the beneifts ats level 50 of any of the other rewards.

I would love for someone to give me reasons for and against the purchase of LTS (when its on sale)

If you ask Cryptic then every Gold member has always gotten their stipends on time and are happy and flower-power..

If you ask me, I am still 2000 Zen short, but granted, it's been a while since they've missed it last.
And sending in support tickets basically only gives you a finger and a shutup from them.

Interestingly they CLAIM that no record of transfers and purchases exist, yet they can say with ABSOLUTE certainty that you get your stipend.

    As for the Pro-and-con:

Pro: And and all characters will now and in the future have all the extra services (increased BO slots, Respec tolkens, vet rewards, alt slots yada yada)... That IS worth considering.

Con: It's alot of money to dish out on a, realistically speaking, free game, There is no guarantee that the game exists tomorrow, so basically you risk paying 200 Zen today, and tomorrow the game shuts down.

    For:

You get Vet Rewards, some cosmetic options and the borg race option.

    Against:

The rewards are kinda meh for the price you pay. Most of the bonuses are only "worth it" with multiple alts. But in an alt-unfriendly game, its hardly worth it.

I'd recommend sticking F2P, with maybe 3 characters (1 for each faction) and just making a la carte purchases on the store with dilithium to zen.

Why do lifers need improvements? They told you want you were getting when you bought it. If you agreed to buy it that's your problem, not cryptic's. It's like buying a 30 taco monthly coupon at Del Taco and then telling them they need to give you 35 tacos per month after you bought it.

Thats pretty much what I do now, i have 8 toons and have managed to create my own psuedo Liberated borg using the 7 of 9 set and a female alien, its not perfect but cost me around a tenner, I spend quiet a bit on zen, i could probably have bought lts by now lol, and thast one of the reasons i am considering making a final purchase of LTs in the sale and call it quits with buying zen.

Consider you only get 500 zen per month (if its workin properly).

Its up to you but I wouldn't do it again. I've been an LTSer since launch and If i could do it over again, I wouldn't.

Well if you're here since Early 2010, it's good because you would've have to pay more money for 2 years of "regular" Subscription ... + anything beyond = Bonus (like myself)

Question is ... is it worth to buy in 2014 ... imho "not really"

Using the Wiki is not reliable since things change, and stuff happens.

Now excuse me while I update the Wiki to say Season 10 will have Giant Chickens. :D

I'm offended! Sto totally needs some Avians!

never had any problem getting my stipend, from a personal point of view I would wholeheartedly recommend lifetime sub, I consider it to be well worth the price but defiantly wait till they have a sale.

as for the alleged improvements for lifetime subscribers I would not hold your breath on that one, I will believe it when I see it.
its always great to get a freebee and I am always grateful for anything that they give us but I don't expect anything more then we have already and I am more then happy with that.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Is i said, there is no real reason to buy a LFT unless a) the year is 2010 b) you want badly the borg veteran reward or any other veteran reward c) you have money and you want to spend it.

Anything else, its an useless reward. Not even 500 dilithium stipend, that is actually almost nothing. For anything else, you are already buying the stuff when you buy the lfs, so. Its like, yea we are giving you those gifts because you are buying a lfs.. lol NO, they are giving those gifts because you are buying them lol. Same way if you buy em without a lfs, just using real money / zen.

The way is the game now, so screwed up, its not precisely the best time to buy a lfs as well. I will wait to see if things get better and the game improves, not the opposite, like is happening now.

Question. What is the Romulan equivalent to the Chimera? I thought they just had to use whatever side they picked ship. Does Romulans get something else?

My one capped Rom is flying one of the lockbox ships I got off the exchange so I didn't look. So I guess there's a free ship I need to claim next time. lol

Yep. That's why I advise people to do their own research, and not listen to others opinions. Even tho I try to be objective on this topic, I also have my biases.

Does new evidence strongly suggest that birds evolved from dinosaurs, which means we already have Giant Chickens in the game. With Lazors, even.

(And we really need Spielberg to improve the SFX of the original Jurassic Park movies, to show the dinos with feathers...)

WAIT, Dinos haz lazors and feathers?!

I think LTS is a great system if A) You really, really, really like this game and B) Plan on a bunch of alts.

Its really personal preference. I regret it because had I not done it, i would've saved loads of money and anger, but the past is the past and without the Tardis or and temporal rift, it is what it is.
