Decisive Improvements to Lifetime Subscribers coming in Season 9?

I have seen/heard about some improvements that are being made to the Lifetime Subscribers perks, can anybody shed some light on this? Is it still on schedule to happen, or has Mr. D'Angelo "put it on the back burner"? :)

This is one source.

    Using the Wiki is not reliable since things change, and stuff happens.


    Now excuse me while I update the Wiki to say Season 10 will have Giant Chickens. :D

    ROFL, you just made my night!!! I see your point, but it was mentioned, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to bring it up!

    I think that's why the OP was asking here...to see if the info in the wiki was totally off and if anyone knew anything more.

    We have till the end of April till they reveal their plans for this.

    Considering the original source was a podcast from June last year, change might or might not be happening. What he said was "the biggest perk is coming in season 10." Something tied into existing rewards. Nothing really more specific than that.

    And the biggest perk is..... You don't have to wait to get your Rewards! ...Unlike some of us.

    personally speaking I am very happy with the rewards as they stand however if they do introduce new rewards they will be greatfully excepted by me what ever they are.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    Does new evidence strongly suggest that birds evolved from dinosaurs, which means we already have Giant Chickens in the game. With Lazors, even.

    (And we really need Spielberg to improve the SFX of the original Jurassic Park movies, to show the dinos with feathers...)

    I don't want to combat chickens...

    And no... Just because they EVOLVED into birds, dosen't make them birds... It makes them ancestors to the birds. They are Dinosaurs...

    As regards to JP, you seem to forget that said dinos were not actual dinos, but themepark mosters made from Pre-historic DNA and Modern reptile DNA, so theres no basis to assume that dinos in JP would look like the real thing.

    You need to ask the Devs that question. Not the op.
    And despite being asked many times, the Devs are not answering.
    So, it isn't an issue since it isn't going to happen

    While the wiki isn't an official source, they do link to their source for the information.

    It was a Priority One podcast from (Ep 131) June with Daniel Stahl.

    Daniel Stahl mentioned at about 42:45 in that "Well uh I think the biggest perk is coming in Season 10, I can't tell you what it is but it is specifically designed for lifetimers um and it is tied into some of their existing rewards. "

    I know its mentioned as Season 10, but I think what they were calling Season 10 at the time is now being referred to as Season 9, but don't quote me on that.

    I remember interviews where they said they talked about it... Never seen anything definitively saying "We will be changeing/adding/improving LTS" rewards...

    It's in peoples heads... not in writing.

    Based on DStahls interview, it sounded like it was more than just speculation.

    But Cryptic has always been rather.... Cryptic :cool:

    That was before Season 8 was released, remember that they had said that they were going to skip Season 8 altogether? They didn't do that, so Season 9 is the "Season 10" that was mentioned in the podcast. The real Season 10 probably will happen early next year.

    Just so you know, this was being planned/proposed already, according to Stahl in one of the podcasts after Legacy of Romulus was released. So, it should come, the question is when.

    I think they did it already by making a fleet upgrade of the Vet ship.

    I completely agree on the first part, but it sounded based on his phrasing as if it was already planned and considering how long it takes Cryptic to make things, for it to be put here it would need to have been in development already I would think.

    maybe a 4 year veteran perk,(or 1300 day vet,..?) but the old veteran perks are good as they are.

    I know I'm late to this one...

    But what exactly constitutes an "improvement?" The only thing I can think of is adding stuff. BUT...do we need more stuff? I guess if we actually had something unique that non-lifers don't have is okay. Despite the fact that we already have the LibBorg option.

    Is supporting the carrot-on-a-stick mentality (formerly every 100 days) so wonderful? If anything they should just leave it as-is and focus on creating better content (like USING planets). Given the option of a lifer incentive revamp and a better game experience, I'll take the latter.

    Yes, I admit some rewards are useful (like the account bank and EC upgrade). But we shouldn't be playing for the rewards--it should be because this is a good game overall. Forgive my Picardian preachifying, but if the game is incentive based, chances are it can't stand on its own without said incentives. That doesn't say much for the quality of this game, seeing how completely reward dependant it is.

    And I play because I like Star Trek...don't EVEN go there.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    as far as it being credible info, most of the time it is.. they have links to the actual statement, (usually forums/twitter/podcast ).

    its only unreliable info when there is no link to the original dev statement.. but you can read that site and get usefull data..

    now what makes it unreliable is the fact that the devs open their mouths a lot, say they are doing something, then we never see it lol.. so infact , you can say all info that comes from a dev, weather its on these forums, or on the wiki is "unreliable" info.

    its another example of the shining competence of the cryptic dev team..

    The last Lifetime content that was 'created' was the Combat EV suits, which used to be available to everybody via c-store. If they do decide to give you fellows more content, I just hope it doesn't follow that example.
