Hakeev (Mirror Universe) - Disapointed

humblesheephumblesheep Member Posts: 423 Arc User
Gotta say after 14 (x2) Mirror Universe Invasion missions, I am rather disappointed with Hakeev.

Rather than giving you an extra copy of Hazard Emitters (which I would have loved), he just boosts your current version to also apply to anyone within 3K and below 50% health.

Don't think I would have bothered with it all if I'd known beforehand.

It was listed what he does in the dev blog.

They even gave a nice picture with the description on it.

i noticed before i even did it, but the mirror hakeev is not my concern, missing out on the rest of the reward would be criminal.

Tool tip seemed pretty clear to me, and no Doff gives you a fresh new ability - that's what Boffs are for.

Gotta learn to read those things.

Have to say I preferred this event to ANR and TVE for Romulan marks, my new Rommie (created at the experience bonus weekend) is only a few days off T5 now.

Thought it could have been a first. But then I didn't read the dev blog did I.

My only real gripe is, that since we who come on this forum are quite a small minority of the player base, it would be nice if things were a little clearer within the game itself.

Some doffs are so OP - it's almost like they give extra boff abilities - but they cost $$$$

in pwe's own defense the launcher and the website have these things put on them so people are kept aware.

I suppose one could argue those technician Doffs give you the means to have extra abilities with A2B too.

^ this, 1000X this!. 50k dil on 5 characters? that's enough dil to get about 2k zen along with all the dil I've been converting just doing the daily, put me at 2500 zen or so. I think there is a vesta in my future when this is all said and done.

I'm disappointed too. I hoped mirror Harkeef would be quiet usefull keeping my pets (kumari wing cannons, romulan drones ect) alive.

But since he is here all he does is researching tagged epohhs on new romulus, constantly claiming "that is the work I was really born to do." with his "Epohh friends"
But when ask him to at least tag them himself.... noooo... "thats Vice Admiral work" and stuff...
Really disappointed... Even Thovan doesn't want to be his friend. And Thovan has no friends...

Seriously though, the Harkeef doff was just a bonus, not more. The event was about the marks and dillithium.
And he might be actually usefull if he had a wider range or that silly 50% limitation removed/reduced.

I don't really care about his ability. The 3 km range make it near useless. Just like cruisers commands and many auras, they are not for your team, but for yourself.

However, it's Hakeev. Having him alive, in my brig, and ready for my daily "interrogation" is
priceless. Now, where is my pain stick ?

You mean like purple technician would do when using a2b ?
You're right however, technically they don't give you a new ability. They just cut the cooldown of every BOFF abilities in half.

Yes, as if a2b doffs don't give you an extra ability for... everything. Hakeev giving an extra hazard emitter suddenly seems less op.

Do you realize it is non-refined dilithium, right?? or is it not?? o_O

It will cost you probably the same ammount of time, gathering it from the event or the regular play.. i think the reward is only focused on people that are having bad times gathering dilithium. The "best" reward is those 500 fleet marks + 250 and the doff. I really dont see the dilithium useful unless you dont have , of course..

My greed (for more power) knows no bounds.

Maybe that's why I keep playing. Power creep keeps me playing the game, otherwise I'd get bored. For example, I bought a 2nd bug ship so I could give it to a Romulan to fly and consigned my existing (Fed) bug ship to being pets on a JHDC - Just like Cryptic want me/us to (except that I personally didn't spend any RL money).

I like to max out my builds and enjoy flying them; but soon I get bored and start looking for the next challenge. I doubt that I am the only one.

So yes, I would have liked an extra copy of Hazard Emitters, even with a 3min cool down, it would have been nice.

4000+ dil per run, 50k total isn't enough then? At the current 130 dil/1 zen that is 436 zen, per lvl 50 character.

even having an extra 50k on top of what you got, thats several extra days you dont need to grind out.

    50k dil

    250 marks

That was my reward goal, Hakeev was just a side note for me.

Looking at it from a dilithium conversion to zen rate, a character @15 minutes a run and 14 runs netted me a little over 124zen per hour. Or, $1.25 an hour. That's what I made as a theater ticket taker when I was 11 years old. If it was just for the zen or dilithium, I think I would just buy it outright with a lot less of my time required to earn money for it, and spend my game time doing things I enjoy better. I did the whole thing for a mix of all the rewards. And only with 1 character to keep it from becoming stale.

Yeah, if you're just after the 50k dilithium you're wasting time. Its not even a full week's worth of dilithium to refine, that you need to grind two weeks to get.

Yup, just doing it for the doff on my main.

I earn more in two days than this entire event, the problem is refining the stuff lol

It seems like they really screwed you over at that theater-ticket-selling-job....

But you are right... but farming dilithium for conversion was never something I even thought of. Even outside the event the "Money"value relation to time invested is a sad joke.

I know. Just don't tell anyone, I'm having fun with my new prisoner :)
In which case, rather than trying to murder everyone, he'll be caring for his pet Epohh and have a strange obsession with terraforming. Instead of allying himself with the Iconians, he'll be sendng them letters requesting that they be nice and reflect on their behaviour. And instead of flying around in a Borgified Romulan warship, he'd be flying around in the love boat. And his goal in life is to convince the Borg to ASK (nicely) if races want to be assimilated, and to leave them alone if they don't.
Not so sure. It seems about everyone in the MU is ruthless and cunning.

I can't help but wonder if this Doff will be used at all. 3 km is too short a distance, when 5km might be a tad more reasonable. The proc will just end up as never really being used, except on players that have that 6th Doff slot to waste. (If you're keen on being that way.) From there, it'll be the occasional power, for someone that decidedly hawks other players in some wingman formation.

I'm... not seeing this ever being used. Just really don't.

Probably would have to be searched for, in Doff missions, of the appropriate type, to even be 'seen', from there, thereafter.

And 50k Dil, times 5 toons, 250K to go primarily to my grinding Rommy for gear... meh, better used there. The Doff, not so much.

TBH, it was 40 years ago.
