why do YOU like the Schimitar line?

personally i like the tactical version because of the following reasons:
5/3 weapon slots
5 tac
3 sci
2 engiee
almost perfect cloak (seriously, i compared it to my T'varo against a fleetie, and in my T'varo, he could see me at roughly 2km distance, but in the schimitar, he couldn't see untill 0.2km)
the set consoles and set bonuses are not useless! (i know many people think the thalaron pulse is useless, and for PvP it is, but for PvE it is really a ton of fun to use
)
and of course, the ever so epic romulan drone ships
so why do YOU like the schimitar? DISCUSS!

that very much depends. i've destroyer a few Scimitars while fleet pvping, and i am as far from a pvp player you'll probably ever see
I like the mogai/valdore from Nemesis. The D'deridex is pretty. My preferred ships are torpedo boats. Nothing about the Scimitar in terms of looks or playstyle is me, but i like seeing them on my side.
Maybe the Scimitar should have been a lockbox ship or something, but the genie is out of the bottle.
Probably another reason to avoid pvp though.

All that means is that the person flying it was bad. The Scimitar is very much a god ship. That doesn't mean that everyone who has one can fly it well.

Though there should have been a free version with only the scimitar hull with vastly reduced stats as a counterpoint to the free Oddy and Bortas in the fleet store.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.

Hey now, I'm a Romulan and I love my fleet mogai more then any other ship
I usually prefer 10,000,000 DPS over-crit PWNscorts, but the Scimmy is just a beautiful ship with lots of OP.
And as hard as it is to pilot, it is worth every penny of those 5000 ZEN. I regularly get 1st in ISE and other Borg STFS with it, even when using the thalaron gun.
Dyson 4-piece set plus thalaron gun = win.
You set off the advanced metaphasic shields, activate the supergun, and wait for the tac cube to go pow. Set up secondary shields as soon as the metaphasics drop, activate tac team next and heal shields, use reverse shield polarity when it comes up, using torp scatter volley 3 and cannon rapid fire 3 (front 4 DHCs and a torp, back 3 turrets)...

Now if they made a KDF version, I think cruiser commands balance against singularity powers... I would certainly part with some of my income. Until then I am content with what I have.
I like OP, what can I say? A challenge is all well and good, but there's something fun about nuking the Borg.
I fly mine with an Engi and use the above config, I may not have APA3, but I can stop all forms of power drain with combo power boost to go with it
4 DHC, 1 Torp and 3 turrets with no power drain and rapid fire is a sight to behold !
It's obvious I don't own one, but I've had "blow things up faster races" with it and I've always lost. I've done an entire side of the vortex by myself and the Scimitar did it's side by itself. Guess what,...they were done first and came over to help me out.
That ship is death itself. What's not to like? Because I like Engineering ships (and having a Gravity Well), I would prefer the Falchion Dreadnought Warbird.
I only wish the Odyssey and Bortasqu' were brought up to par with it. Tweak their console abilities. Give them a hangar bay or something.
Both the Federation and the Klingon Empire strongly disapprove/discourage the use of such things, and the Republic needs to play nice with them.
But they (the Scimitar variants) are there, and it's awfully tempting to get for my Rommies.

well maybe they should at least have a hangar. while they could do maybe with a tiny tweak it's the scimitar that needs tweaking. if only the oddy and bort was brought up to par with the scimitar then all other ships would get left behind. it would be easier for the developers to slap hangars on the oddy and bort and tweak the scimitar to be slightly less op. other wise you will have a massive ship rebalancing problem.

well, someone sure likes to get off-topic :P nah, im just kidding, everyone is entitled to their own opinions
1) She's a visually sexy beast. I thought the Scimitar looked AMAZING in Nemesis. Then I saw the Scimis in STO and cried because they looked so bad... Then they released the player Scimitar (along with a MASSIVE visual overhaul), and gave you the ability to put the Reman skin on it. And then you can kit-bash the pieces from all 3 models together. Now I have a very sexy ship at my disposal.
2) You can do so bloody much with that ship. With the LtCmdr Uni, you can run three distince playstyles on it. You can run it as a CC machine of destruction (GW1 and CSV with an APB3/APO3), you can run it as a tanky machine of destruction (EPtS1, Aux2SIF1, RSP2), or you can run it as a purely dakka oriented tactical monstrosity from hell.
3) SHE NEVER DIES. EVER. I honestly cannot remember the last time my Scimitar kersploded. She's so naturally tanky it's obscene. Base hull of 40k, 1.1 shield mod, each model has at least 2 engi consoles? What more could you ask for? Add skills, and you can very VERY easily get her hull up to 55k, and her shield mod up to 1.4. Add in equipment, and it just goes nuts. Regardless of what your BOff layout is, it's very difficult for a competent player to go wrong in that ship. It's almost as if you have to TRY in order to fail. SHE'S A MONSTER.
4) There is no other ship in game that can match her damage output. The forward firepower on a Scimitar is insane. And I mean INSANE. Yeah, the bug and Andorian escorts are powerful, but the Scimitar puts them to shame. Even the Fleet Ha'feh can't hold a candle to this ship. I've clocked decloaking alphas on a tac scimitar exceeding 200k DPS. It was almost funny watching the tac cube just melt in under 10 seconds. From one ship. Granted it took a lot of APBs and two FOMM3s, but still... You won't find another ship that can hit as hard as she can, while still tanking as well as she can. Hell, half the time, I just LOOK at an NPC and it blows itself up just so I won't. I named my ship the Voidreaver. And she lives up to it in every fight.
5) Romulan Drone Ships. The EC ones are great. The Advanced ones are amazing. And the Elite Drones? Those things are just... well tbh, I actually have destroyed a few of my friends using JUST my drones. The pair of drones is actually stronger than most mobs on Elite. And like someone was complaining earlier, they have constant scramble sensor spam, which makes those vaunted BFAW boats as much of a danger to their allies as they are to their enemies. I've had my fair share of PvP rounds where my team was getting BFAW'd like nuts, and then my drones fired off their SS. Suddenly beams are hitting EVERYTHING (friend, foe, random asteroids, the chipmunk across the street, you name it, it was getting shot). It was hilarious. And awesome.
Long story short, to answer your question, I don't like my Scimitar. I LOVE my Scimitar. Yes, she power-slides everywhere. Yes, she can't really turn that well decloaked. Yes, she takes forever and a day to come to a stop. But you know what? She's still a sexy, versatile, durable, sneaky weapon of mass destruction that has pets that are just as evil. Apparently she's also a source of lots of Q.Q. But that just adds to the appeal.
I named my Mistborn trilogy-themed alt's Tulwar-class RRW Ruin (after the god of destruction from Mistborn).
My Rommie tac's tac scimitar is such a DPS monster...I mean, the thing powerslides all over the place and it STILL wipes the FLOOR with all Borg STFs.
No fleet gear at all, no drone ships. Just the 3 consoles and the Dyson set.
I annihilated a tac cube in 30 seconds with torp spread 3, cannon rapid fire 3, advanced metaphasic shields, and the supergun. PWN.
Scimitars are beautiful, lethal monsters. Yes, they are OP. But damn it, that's part of the fun.
Plus, it's canon.

Ran CEE with my alt's Tulwar (RRW Ruin) in factory condition with a couple basic consoles, and got 3rd. Only died once, when the entity charged for the 1st time and I hit the wrong button.
