I'm so glad you all liked the mission! It was a blast creating it every step of the way.
I believe that Miller sir, and from the looks it was a lot of work, no half done VO work no they did from start to bottom every char had a voice and I loved it.

"Coffee: the finest organic suspension ever devised. It's got me through the worst of the last three years. I beat the Borg with it."
To the END I loved the story, fact there was no reading you could listen the whole thing true. Thats what I missed with the Dyson Sphere EP with Michael Dorn.
The story of the EP was great more then great even with the different choices.
In overall scale I felt I was part of something you know.
And with my Janeway char at the end next to Tuvok was a nice sight, and the choice she made to do the hard way without help from beams or bots was also Janeway true and true.
From that moment I felt I was in a new Voyager Episode but then again there was no Voyager...
Overall score for me is 9 for episode one

That moment where Cooper turned into an Undine and attacked Tuvok was amazing. I actually backed away from my screen, so shocked and terrified was I. If you guys (devs) can pull off more stuff like that in the future, I will be thoroughly impressed.

I found the same was useful in the summer event jet pack mission also.
Wow thanks for this, i was enjoying the mission till the spacewalk and trying to unlock the door, could not go where i wanted to, hope this helps for my next run.
Overall good mission that i rather enjoyed, and will probably enjoy even better now i know how to use EV suit

Same here. By the blood of Kahless, that part was awesome--the transformation, the malevolence, the EVIL, the evil voice, the line "The weak shall perish!"...
It was freaking awesome. I want more episodes like this.
Tim Russ did the best VO yet. All the other actors were pretty good, but weren't quite as convincing. But from the very start, he was Tuvok through and through.
I'm very pleased with how the story is turning out. It actually feels like movement in the main story line again instead of the several years of staying in the same place.
And Cooper...man Cooper. In a way he kind of stole the show for me. Right from the start I was trying to help the poor guy. Told Tuvok to stick with him during the first part. Talked to him nicely and encouraged him the rest of the time. At one point he mentioned that Tuvok had chosen him for the mission and he didn't know why. I thought "Oh! Tuvok must be a pal and was trying to help him out sort of like how the crew of the E-D helped Barclay out!" Only to have him be A DIRTY UNDINE SPY THE ENTIRE FREAKING TIME OMG. Cooper NOOOOOOOO FUUUUUUUUUUUUU! I will kill the Undine for that. I will kill them.
If the Omega particle generator isn't generating Omega particles, there would be none to detect. On the SDolane sphere the Voth got to it first and started the Omega particle generator.
ya, but it jumped. its established it takes a LOT of omega particals to do that. uss gold didnt even notice or get a single omega reading before, during, or after the jump.
It was never stated the Jump system would fail; only that if iut did, the release of Omega particles would destroy subspace. Obviously whomever built the Spheres had a good grasp on Omega particle tech, and doesn't fear it. As a corollary, small amounts of Anti-matter can destroy whole worlds (watch TOS: 'Obsession') -- a more primitive spacefaring race that had a bad experience with anti-matter along those lines might see the Federation as insane for using it -- but the Feds are comfortable with the level of control they have over Antiatter tech in Star Trek.
the solona sphere was in a state of disrepair after so long, so they thought it might blow a gasket if it tried to jump. but the jenolan seemed to be in perfect working order, to the point that there wasn't even an omega signature to detect during such an enormous expenditure of them. its supposed to be just as old, and just as abandoned as the solona. this is a plot hole, so is after 40 years apparently not learning a single thing about the jenolan, because everything the alliance knows is said to be figured out as they go along in the solona
Did you actually listen to the dialogue when you played the mission? The WHOLE thing was a SETUP by Species 8472 (aka the Undine). 'Dr. Cooper' (the Undine spy) was manipulating the whole situation (and Tuvok psychically) -- thus everything that occurred was part of an Undine plan
this is only believable if the unidine has some vast understanding how to control iconion gateways. theres nothing implying they do, infant they would have to have grave ignorance on the subject if they continue to harass the normal space empires at all. their infiltrations should have shown them that it wasn't the normal space powers that were intruding on fluidic space, since the borg. the 3 factions know enough about the iconion threat now, so that would mean the unidine do as well.
this is the problem with them knowing how to use the gateway, they could only know as much about it as those they infiltrate. its still just the iconions that control and really know anything about the gateway network, the unidine would have about a billion swarmers, the elatchi, and who knows what else to deal with if they intruded into their subspace relm.
it is not believable that cooper knew enough about iconian tech to pull off what ended up happening. they would have to know how to control gateways. that fail safe opening of the gate was likely programed to go exactly were he wanted it to go, inside the jenolan. but they clearly didn't have trouble finding it, or getting into it without the gate. how does it serve them for there to be a permanent connection between the 2 spheres, taken over and guarded by the alliance?
now heres one heck of a plot hole if thats the case. how the hell could the jenolan be were the unidine want it, when it auto jumped to 'somewhere in the delta quadrent' as soon as the player rebooted all those gateways in sphere of influence?
Basically, the Undine have control of the Jenolan Dyson Sphere transport gate - and the inference is they can use that to enter our space from Fluidic space. They also seem to know more about actual Sphere tech, and would be able (and maybe are) getting something set up in the Jenolan Sphere to use against the Alpha Quadrant (which makes all the Undine infiltration of the major Alpha Quadrant Star Nations in STO a bad thing :D)
how do they know anything about sphere tech? what gate, the one you went through to get to it? they had to blow a hole through the door to get in. i can only guess cooper TRIBBLE it after you went through so the unidine can access it, but you basically have to guess about stuff like this because it was NOT clear, and nothing implied. theres no indication that anything has gone in or out of the jenolan since it jumped, the uss gold has been alone and damaged since it jumped, like an in game month earlier or whatever its been.
they hang out in fluidic space, and have their own method of crossing over. they would never cross paths with the iconion network. you blow up the only person size gate there is in fluidic space. they have an EXTREME amount of back story they need to put in the game about the extent of iconion and unidine contact, before this mission makes a remote amount of sense.
You suppose the Jenolan sphere to be "just as old, and just as abandoned" as the Solonae sphere. That's never been mentioned - in fact, we know that forty-some years ago the Jenolan sphere's automated mechanisms were working well enough to activate the towing tractor beams and pull the Ent-D through the doors. It may well be that the builders of these spheres were able to do maintenance far more recently on the Jenolan sphere than the Solonae. Until we know for certain who built them (probably the Iconians, but that's not confirmed yet so far as I know) and, at least as importantly, where specifically those builders went, we have no data whatsoever on the relative ages of the spheres, nor how long it's been since each was abandoned. We do, however, know that the subspace facility in "Spheres of Influence" had been maintained relatively recently...
I'll say this because I'm not sure from previous posts people noticed it.
The Jenolan Sphere jumped to where it is now right when we discovered the Solanae Sphere. Which is a couple months back in game (or at least weeks, the Gold was depleting resources).
Apparently, the Jenolan sphere ended up close to Undine infested territory. When they realised it, they sent the 'NOT Doc Cooper' to study the Solanae sphere. He discovered he could make a connection between both spheres --> fast and easy travel for whole squadrons.
And here we are.
EDIT: As to how the Gold didn't find traces of Omega, I'm not sure. It might be because the Jenolan sphere is in a far better state and is smaller (requiring smaller amounts). Then it might be more difficult to detect them.

I have to say the devs outdid themselves with this one, the mission is the best FE in game by far. Tim Russ also nailed his Tuvok reprisal, he managed to sound just like Voyager Tuvok, while Dorn and Crosby didn't sound so much like their characters.
I hope that Cryptic maintain the quality of this FE going forward when they continue it.
The new ships were cool to.
Yeah, I feel as if though Nimoy also did a pretty good job narrating those sector stories. Past Imperfect was a bit off, but you can't blame a person for the fact that his voice changed. :P

Well, there is a slight plot hole with what they said happened to the Jenolan sphere. If I remember correctly, one of the story blogs before S8 specifically said that the sphere had vanished before they found and reset the Iconian network.
But yeah, it's probably easier to use Iconian technology to transfer large fleets and objects in one go to their destination than it is to emerge from fluidic space with said fleets/objects.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Well, as I really don't feel like re-reading all the blogs since pre-Sphere of Influence release, I'll take that as correct.
All that would change is the Undine had even more time planning and studying as I don't think it's been mentioned specifically thas us resetting the gateway network was the reason for the Jenolan disappearance (correct me if I'm wrong here). It simply must have been one of the presumed Iconian servitor races that deemed it 'useful' to remove the Jenolan sphere out of Alpha quadrant.

I thought Tim Russ did an amazing job with his voice over for the Feature Episode. To me it sounded just like Tuvok from Voyager straight out of the show! He hit the tone and inflections perfectly IMO. One of the better voice overs I have experienced. Thanks Cryptic for bringing him on board

You are wrong there.
It is mentioned in A Step Between Stars that the Jenolan Sphere disappeared when the network was reset to safe New Romulus.
As mentioned earlier, this contradicts a pre S8 blog.
I think Tim Russ did an amazing job. Better in fact then all the others. Its just to bad that it will be lost on so many because of the decision to kill the event with grinding for the reward. Amazing way to kill the fact that you stuck around for 4 years only to be treated this way. For me it really doesn't matter because i don't want a science ship with gimmicks. I'm not a science officer anyways. This ship is really for them. They have complained about not having a dps ship now they do. I do like the 3 piece set and put it on my advanced Obby. Its real nice on that ship with its other set bonuses. Some may not agree but i like it and that's all that matters.
Agreed. Mr. Russ did a stellar job with a pretty good story to boot.
These types of updates is great for the game as a Star Trek fan and Star Trek Online player. As much as I would love to see Mr. Shatner and Sir Patrick Stewart come aboard, I realise that probably just isn't possible financially.
Thank you, Tim Russ. For the fine job you did reprising one of the more interesting characters in all of Star Trek. Mr. Vulcan, I hope you enjoyed yourself while doing so. I certainly enjoyed your appearance in STO and look forward to another.

This was a great mission once i changed the vid settings that is i just wish there did more testing be4 putting it out live.
I wonted to kill Cooper from the start but that might be because i know someone called Cooper that ran off n left me to protect his girlfriend from her ex.
Any way some in some of the cowards voice over it buged out n his lips did not move
I wouldnt say he hit his tones and inflections PERFECTLY through the whole episode, but Id score him 9/10
There were a few moments here or there that could have used a tad more urgency in his voice. Urgency I know Tim conveyed even as a Vulcan when he was on screen in a tense situation. But he did have urgency in his Vulcan voice here and there, it just wasnt turned up full blast because he wasnt physically in the scene acting out the drama and a tad out of breath. You can hear that 10/10 level of voice acting in action from the Uncharted series. The noticeable difference between acting scenes physically in mo cap suits and standing still in a sound booth.
But BRAVO Tim, BRAVO. THIS is why I was so vocal against Crosby and Dorn's performance. They clearly dont get it. Tim does. Ive never heard even Patrick Stewart sound better in a game. Tim gave a Stewart level voice acting performance. Yeah theres tiny tiny little nitpicks you could point out, but Patrick's and Tim's shortcomings are so slight, they are hardly worth nitpicking about.
Look forward to any more of Tim's work in STO.

Hey Mods STOP IT! I was responding specifically JUST to Tim Russ' voice acting, not the mission as a whole. Those WERE two separate topics. Now my comments in this thread look out of place and my quote disappeared from my reply. Pull the stick out guys, you dont have to condense every thing.

Read the blogs on S8 and said, "Meh." Read the blogs on the Anniversary Ships and said, "Meh". Looked at the Space Set acquired by playing the Anniversary FE and thought, "Wonder if my KDF Sci char would benefit from this?" So this morning logged in and gave it a whirl.
Bravo. Well Done. Well done, indeed.
It has been a very long time since a story mission outside of the Foundry captured my attention so completely. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I am looking forward to playing the Anniversary FE again eagerly. It felt like a Star Trek episode. It sounded like a Star Trek episode. My char was faced with challenges and tasks which, for a change, did not require ninja like reflexes, a B.F.G., and an itchy trigger finger to solve. To hear Tim Russ as Tuvok one more time was the icing on the cake.
More like this please. Lots more.
I am aware of the time and effort and sweat which it takes to do something like this. However, quality content such as this should be the norm rather than a once in awhile thing around here.
One more thing. EP, about whoever worked on this? Y'all ain't payin' 'em nearly what they're worth.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
Despite the plot holes I've been complaining about in the other thread, I do have to agree with the chorus here. On balance, this was a well-executed FE, and as much as I like to bash Voyager and everything relating to it, Tuvok was always a great character and Tim Russ hasn't lost his touch.
