If so, you seriously deserve a hefty salary hike and a nice promotion. And two months in Tahiti with pretty topless waiters/waitresses (depending on your preference) with Mai Tais at your beck and call.

    Less seriously, MARRY ME!!!!! ;)

(That's starting to become my new catchphrase for when I really like something in this game. Huh.)

This episode caused some Mass Effect 2 flashbacks (in a good way, of course). In particular I was reminded of the destruction of the first Normandy and the lair of the Shadow Broker.

Well, maybe BranFlakes a bit more because he has an awesome Evil Menacing Dude voice (seriously, you could make a fortune narrating audiobooks), and because he's just that awesome.

In fact, I named Three's new escort ship the USS BranFlakes Rocks. Because it's true.

You deserve a promotion; this episode was really above and beyond. Tim Russ was on fire in the later half of the episode; the first half has some...well, stilted moments, but once you're in your suit, he's in top form. And there is that priceless Vulcan moment where he does the typical Vulcan Captain Obvious thing to Cooper while Cooper's hacking the security. Brilliant.

Cooper is a great stealth villain; most players will hate his guts by the time he shows his true colors, and the rest will be shocked by the betrayal. If you're going to deliver episodes like this--or even better than this--wow, people are going to come in DROVES.

Yes, I've been a jerk to Cooper as a Romulan. Thanks for that, by the way; "Do'eth" is NOT a stereotypical, Federation-style Republic Romulan. It was so easy to imagine her saying those exact words.

It's the little things like that that really make the episode special. You rock. Tonight, I will pray to the FSM (my deity of the week) for your promotion. You deserve it.

Oh man I loved that line too! When he said it the first time I just grinned. Tuvok is awesome and Tim Russ will always be one of my favourite trek actors. It was just such a badass line.

I haven't played it as a romulan, but I did like his dialogue when you act all 'drill sergeant nasty' with him as a fed. Perhaps slightly funnier in my case since my character is a short, skinny blonde lass.

was i the only one who thought the story had more plot holes then a JJ Abrams movie?

-the jenolan dyson sphere jumped to somewhere in the delta quadrant, that means its an omega factory too, and basically the same as the one we are fighting over. after 40 years, how did the federation not know about this, when they could detect omega through the portal to the other one immediately?

-why did it not critically fail and destroy most of subspace when it jumped as it was feared the other spheres would?

-what was 8472 doing just outside the sphere exactly the time you went through the portal and had no idea were it would lead? did cooper somehow know? how would he know?

-were exactly is the jenolan dyson sphere now, anywhere close to the unidine/voth war zone? if it is just guarding the portal near the sun wont protect it from the voth. are we about to have a 2 dysone sphere territory war next?

-how did all this make it easier for the 8472 to access the galaxy? it did put the alliance at odds, and we know they like that, but its not like the sphere transported to fluidic space or anything, giveing them especially easy access to it.

thats not to say it wasn't fun or anything, i loved it, but these story points i just had to not think to much about to really enjoy it

Okay I have to say congrats on cryptic over the past 4 years I have been playing since day 1 launch and the mission quality just gets better and better. This game has definitely had its ups and down changing of management and Atari going bankrupt and the acquisition of cryptic by perfect world put a huge content gap. I remember watching STOKed back during beta and seeing all the flaws in the game and listing to Priority One not too long after launch. I remember spending 4-5 hours a day for weeks to get my original characters to get to rear admiral. I also remember grinding to get the [Borg] weapons from battle group omega those used to be considered the best endgame gear. The old mark system while it had its benefits for shorter work to get endgame gear was replaced by the much better dilithium system that combined all those different level exploration currency and pvp currency. The sector space revamp was another nice addition allowing high level starships to turn easier (I think this by far has made sector space travel a lot less annoying). The original Featured Series once a week episodes were amazing high quality missions that kept me coming back each week to play. Also the rewards from them were nice because it made me play the missions one to three times throughout the week until the next to get the other bonuses. Another big step in the game was the mission reply system and that use to be only offered in the Captains ready room. The UI has always evolved with most major updates and constantly gotten better most recently with the Legacy of Romulus. Way back with season 3 the ground combat changed STO forever most people never wanted to play the ground part of missions because of how long fighting a single enemy squad would take. In the end I think the transfer to a F2P model was the best direction this game took bringing in a huge new player base. Here?s too many more years!

I have to say the devs outdid themselves with this one, the mission is the best FE in game by far. Tim Russ also nailed his Tuvok reprisal, he managed to sound just like Voyager Tuvok, while Dorn and Crosby didn't sound so much like their characters.

I hope that Cryptic maintain the quality of this FE going forward when they continue it.

The new ships were cool to.

indeed it was a good story only spoiled by the frequent server problems.
tip for space suit push the b on your keyboard to bring up your targeting crosshair tool for shooter mode and just point the crosshair tool in the direction you wish to go.

I found the same was useful in the summer event jet pack mission also.

Thank you sir, I certanly will try

So, the current Fed vs KDF war started over the feds not admitting that the undine were an issue and the kdf decided to face the problem head on. Now suddenly the feds are saying the undine are an issue that everyone needs to work together to defeat? Where is the apology to the Empire on this one? Instead we are presented with the Klingons being the bad guys at the end of the FE, this just doesn't make sense to me.

The only way the devs outdid themselves in that mission are in designing bugs.

Space suit sequence? You mean a pitch black screen right! That one part took over an hour of trial and error where the only thing I had to navigate by was the mini-map, and I couldn't even abandon the mission!

Fly the new vessel? You mean my current vessel! The new vessel never loaded, but my current vessel is really good at fighting Voth a few km above a star, not to mention Undine in normal space.

400 Qmendations? Nope, nada, nothing. Screen goes black after the last cut scene and then I'm back in normal space with no option to hand in and no rewards, in fact, it's as if i'd never even had the mission!

All this on top of grind central? I'm furious! I've just wasted two and a half hours on a single mission that I'm not receiving bugger all for! If it wasn't for the hours I've devoted to my characters in this game I'd be hitting un-install on it right now!

    To hell with it!

I too will offer my appreciation and liking of this FE. If this is a ".5" season FE, then I can't wait for season 9. The "to be continued" brings me back to days before the instant gratification of netflix, when we really experienced the cliffhanger.

If we are to get more delta quadrant, bring Ethan Phillips (Neelix) on. He should totally be a bit of a cameo, call Tuvok "Mr. Vulcan". That's probably asking too much lol.

    Anyways, great job and thanks.

If the Omega particle generator isn't generating Omega particles, there would be none to detect. On the SDolane sphere the Voth got to it first and started the Omega particle generator.
-why did it not critically fail and destroy most of subspace when it jumped as it was feared the other spheres would?

It was never stated the Jump system would fail; only that if iut did, the release of Omega particles would destroy subspace. Obviously whomever built the Spheres had a good grasp on Omega particle tech, and doesn't fear it. As a corollary, small amounts of Anti-matter can destroy whole worlds (watch TOS: 'Obsession') -- a more primitive spacefaring race that had a bad experience with anti-matter along those lines might see the Federation as insane for using it -- but the Feds are comfortable with the level of control they have over Antiatter tech in Star Trek.
-what was 8472 doing just outside the sphere exactly the time you went through the portal and had no idea were it would lead? did cooper somehow know? how would he know?

Did you actually listen to the dialogue when you played the mission? The WHOLE thing was a SETUP by Species 8472 (aka the Undine). 'Dr. Cooper' (the Undine spy) was manipulating the whole situation (and Tuvok psychically) -- thus everything that occurred was part of an Undine plan
-were exactly is the jenolan dyson sphere now, anywhere close to the unidine/voth war zone? if it is just guarding the portal near the sun wont protect it from the voth. are we about to have a 2 dysone sphere territory war next?

It's obviously where the Undine want it to be.
-how did all this make it easier for the 8472 to access the galaxy? it did put the alliance at odds, and we know they like that, but its not like the sphere transported to fluidic space or anything, giveing them especially easy access to it.

Basically, the Undine have control of the Jenolan Dyson Sphere transport gate - and the inference is they can use that to enter our space from Fluidic space. They also seem to know more about actual Sphere tech, and would be able (and maybe are) getting something set up in the Jenolan Sphere to use against the Alpha Quadrant (which makes all the Undine infiltration of the major Alpha Quadrant Star Nations in STO a bad thing :D)
thats not to say it wasn't fun or anything, i loved it, but these story points i just had to not think to much about to really enjoy it

IDK - overall, it had less plot holes then your average Star Trek episode (from any series); and it was a fun experience. Hell, if you analyze what is considered one of the BEST Star Trek feature films "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" <--- There's an example of a story with MAJOR plot holes and gaps in the first 10 minutes; (which if they did exist, we wouldn't get the story presented in the film) - yet these gaping plot holes don't (such as the U.S.S. Reliant's sensors being unable to detect the asteroid field left behind after the destruction of Ceti Alpha Six, nor the fact a planet is missing from the system, nor the fact that Ceti Alpha Five's orbit shifted, etc.) detract from people's enjoyment of said film. ;)

Now Cryptic needs to get Robert Picardo and Jeri Ryan to come in has the Doctor and Seven to help create a way to detect Undine infiltrators in the next FE.

The climax could be that once their detection method is finished that it's revealed that J'mpok or at the very least one of his top advisors was in fact an Undine infiltrator.

The above could help the Feds save a bit of face and show the Klingons that even they were not completely safe from the Undine.

The road for peace between the KDF and the Federation will begin to be paved.

No not that turn son, then it would be like DS9 where they think it's the Chancellor and they discover Martok was the shape shifter that would not be good...
