I'd accept that it happened, but I wouldn't like it. I'd like to not have to go to Disney for all my entertainment needs.Besides, they'd just butcher it doing crossovers with their Disney Channel shows. Did you see Phineas & Ferb: Mission Marvel episode? SO MUCH LORE BREAKING! They're doing the same thing later with a Star Wars special, so expect to see two normal kids become Jedi in a minute and a half musical montage.
"A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP"
Id probably groan and ***** about it. Scream Monopoly, cry a bit... pray for the future. And buy all my DvDs before they "George Lucas" the originals...
By "George Lucas" I mean, hide any and all THX Edition (NO ADDED SCENES) Versions of Episode 4/5/6
I hate the ReVamps so much (almost as much as the prequels), and its literally impossible to buy the THX Edition Episode 4,5,6 nowdays...unless you look for used copies.
Lando: [greeting "old friend" George Lucas] "Why, you slimy, double-crossing, no-good swindler !"
What, you guys don't want to see Sora fighting along side Goofy and Donald next to Wolverine and Darth Vader against Sephiroth on board the Enterprise commanded by Kirk while the Coliseum theme plays in the background in the next riveting installment of Kingdom Hearts?

This made me spit coffee out of my nose.
Thank you for the laugh...and the corresponding nasal inflamation.
I'm withholding judgement until I see what disney does with star wars. I've seen both renderings of the clone wars series, and niether was all that great imo. I'll wait and see what episode 7 is like, but I honestly can't say I expect good things.
I would not be bothered. they are a studio and one is much like the other. its still the writers, directors that shape the films. as long as its falls under the family adventure which i think trek has always done, then you would not even notice who owns it.
JJ being a prime example. The last 2 films feel like JJ films and not paramount films. im sure star wars VII will feel like a JJ film and not disney film as well.
So I dont care who owns it as long as they keep making them.

Inb4 Sora and Picard taking turns talking Ansem to death.
disney gets trek, the next thing we would be seeing is a sci-fi nerds wet dream beyond TRIBBLE, trek vs wars. imperials vs feds, republic vs kdf. hutts vs romulans.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I can see it now--Animal at the helm of a KDF tac ship. He'd fit right in.:D
As would Crazy Harry, the Muppets' bomber.
Well, I'm of a mixed opinion. On the one hand, the House of Mouse gave us the original Pirates of the Caribbean, and (way back in the day) the excellent 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (which, with its tales of slavery, imperialism, and revenge practically fits TOS storytelling). On the other hand, they just set the Lone Ranger franchise back yet another 30 years.
So with JJ Abrams working Star Wars, does that mean Jerry Bruckheimer gets to do Trek?

More or less this.
Disney might be best known for the mouse, but in reality they're an extremely ambitious and open-minded corporation who devotes a good portion of their money to expanding their portfolio.
The only people who automatically think "LOL Marvel is owned by Disney we'll see Mickey join the Avengers" or "LOL Star Wars is owned by Disney we'll see Princess Leia become a Disney Princess" are those who have no grasp of how intensive or diverse Disney's portfolio is.
It would be me like saying, "LOL Kill Bill is owned by Disney, I guess we'll see Mickey Mouse start dismembering and decapitating the Crazy 88 at Disneyland."
But I wouldn't say that. Because it's ludicrous to imagine an extremely violent and mature film like Kill Bill being in the same company as Donald Duck and Goofy. But when Miramax films was owned by Disney from 1993 to 2010 -- you understand that Disney financed and took part in many non-kids movies.
Shakespeare in Love? Miramax Films. Owned by Disney.
Gangs of New York? Miramax Films. Owned by Disney.
So if Star Trek was ever acquired by Disney? It wouldn't matter. We'd have a company with a big budget and a proven track record of success putting Star Trek into popular culture.
I will never say it CAN'T happen, but what if it DID happen.
How would you feel about such a big move, and how would you see Trek moving forward after that?
When I mean buy it, I am talking about taking over ownership of both TV and Movie rights.
So lets hear your thoughts on this topic.
Hmm, basically you would have the same joke i've done with James T cat and the USS Kittyprize, only with a ship full of Goofy's. Something like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfgTMg5Zsvc
I think it would be a good thing. For better or worse, tonally, I think the films would be very similar to what we got from Abrams, but Disney would be willing to invest much more money in branching out the franchise.

yes, Marketing genius you are, Mirrorchaos, yes.
Great things I see for you.

Perhaps if disney purchased star trek, we could finally get some trek back on TV. better than paramout and cbs sitting on the franchise. As a comic book fan im very pleased with what disney has done with marvel studios. Disney buying the rights to Star Trek would be a positive thing. How could they do any worse?
Maybe the celebration of Disney owning Cryptic will bring a Mickey Mouse BOFF to STO, that oughta be fun.
...I can just see it now, using Goofy to recalibrate something in Engineering for a DoFF assignment, when it comes back a failure, it plays the sound of malfunctioning equipment and explosions followed by his classic yell.

-Leonard Nimoy, RIP
That would probably FINALLY let us have Mouse-species, Dog-species and Cow species.
I mean, after all.. Cats... who wants that?
I mean really ... plagiarising most epic Kirk-Spock scene ever!!!!!
Totally not cool!! I mean WTH!!. Get your own!! Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!
And then ... if Khan was such a uber Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then how come he dies like a screaming little prep-schooler with a rage quit?!
Now .... I'm picturing this. Really. It could work.

Then they cancelled clone wars when it had hit it's stride, cancelled some cool looking star wars games and shut down Lucusarts altogether.
Thanks but no thanks.

No worries. They most likely cycle it off to BuenaVista and let themproduce it
BV is the adult side of disney when they need it

Your franchise, as you have known it, is over.
Your stories will adapt to service us.
Your technological and mythological distinctiveness will be added to the Disney Collection.
Resistance is futile.
