Feel the weight lag.

mattdoodymattdoody Member Posts: 23 Arc User
Its being noticed that when 2 or more players using feel the weight of our presence with enough stacks the map lags to a pretty much unplayable state. Its like the game just cant handle that amount of stress.
so many different entities debuffing multiple targets on the map at the same time within a certain range but ignoring some of those stacks if an entity is outside of a certain distance from the player/user/entity and constantly adjusting for distance appears to be throttling the hampsters that power the server.
anyone else experiencing this?

No lag for me with using feel the weight of our presence. What I do see is graphical lag when the mouse moves over the UI more so when its over power activation like Torpedo spread and the little popup happens. Or pressing P for the powers menu. The UI cuts FPS from 60fps+ down to 20fps or sometimes even 10fps.

I can verify - extreme lag when multiple players are using Feel the Weight. It is *not* limited to 25 stacks and each group of stacks has a severe and noticeable affect on server performance, causing ships to rubberband and misfire abilities frequently. It's been going on as far as I can tell since at least the Stormfall drop - perhaps even since the introduction of the trait.

I have a video of this from months ago. Here - start at 34:18

^ That's an old video, I have clips somewhere on my hard drive with over 90 stacks of feel the weight on my buff bar and lag worse than that.

And to be clear, it's not just a pvp problem, it also causes issues with spawn times for enemies in pve if you have more than one person running it and hangar pets are on the map. For example, the borg spheres that warp in after two transformer gens are destroyed in Infected The Conduit space sometimes warp in 5+ seconds late, it's very easy to see this happening if you record video clips with and without the trait equipped in teams of 5 carriers, if you need a testing methodology to prove it.

this may be the case in PvE but PvP maps have more players and using feel the weight causes immense lag. its noticeable to the point wher you know if a certain few players are on the map even if they use /hide because of the issues

It will happen in PvE too, it's just not a common situation to have multiple carriers all running the trait in the same TFO or battlezone there. If you ever wanted absolute proof of it, a team of 5 FtW carriers could go into the Undine BZ for example and it would be quite obvious to everyone in that instance that there's a server issue
