Hey is this going to fix my mouse not being able to scroll the lower quarter of my screen as I know this is an sto issues and not computer as its only doing this in game. Thank.
" Now the gate has been unlatched headstones pushed aside; corpses shift and offer room ,a fate you must abide."
I just want to add that I was very pleasantly surprised with my 2.5 hours of game play this evening.
I didn't crash once!
I do find the Space aspect of the new Dyson Sphere to be a bit baffling yet (so much going on at once), but I suppose I'll figure it out eventually.
I really like the hidden DOff missions, they were a complete surprise.
I only did a little testing on Tribble for this season, I didn't want to over do it like I did for LoR.
All-in-all, I am very happy with this new release, I just have to keep telling myself it's Star Trek, every time I kill a dinosaur.

Thank you... So much thank you for the quick maintenance - which I'm hoping fixes the 75%-Crashing problem - I want to play Season 8, not wait a week for it.
I t has a lot to do with it. As usual they ignored the tribble feed back and made it live anyway.
Thanks! Also, I think you can manually resolve that by using this command in your chat bar: /renderscale 1
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=
You're welcome
Also, I tried that command and it worked perfectly Literally, the moment I entered it (exactly as you posted: /renderscale 1), the half-resolution changed immediately to full resolution, though apparently with the side-effect of upping all settings to their highest lol.
I changed characters a bunch, and while the 'Material files reloading' thing stayed in the bottom left for a few secs each time, it never reverted back to half-resolution.
I won't know if it's permanent or not until I log back in, but either way, it worked like a charm
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
Oh, isht! Here we go again with the crashes. Didn't we JUST go through this 2 months ago?
Welcome to the club we already have a thread going all of us are experiencing different crashes in several part but most of us seem to not get past either the Cryptic loading Screen or the Character loading Screen. And yes this has been on going for about a month now on tribble.

Just wanted to say, make wine from the sour grapes as I am... Give them a day or 2 to fix the problem and while you are locked out, check out other online games... explore your options if you are not satified with the current situation...
I have been solely playing STO since first coming onto Internet in March 2012...and depending on how long I'm locked out, I may find greener pastures and may only ever be logging back on again to say goodbye to all my fleeties and friends in game and let them know where I've moved to... remember... we ARE easily replaced by the millions of ST fans on the planet whom haven't been here yet... lol

One thing I DO hafta say... glad I don't have Bran Flakes job atm... or that of the poor sots having to read ALL THOSE TICKETS...!! ROLF
Oh... and thx for the link to that post about tonites shutdown, Bran... better to find out now our problem won't be solved than to come back at 2 am [my time] only to find I still can't get on after waiting all nite... think for now I will browse and come back here tomorrow to see if situation has improved... [HOPE, HOPE...am crossing things I can't even mention on here]

What a shock, less then 24hrs after the launch the servers are going down. Once again you have learned NOTHING from the last 3 seasons and LoR release. You push out a release without doing a proper amount of bug fixing and testing and you get the same BS every time. Maybe by season 12 you will get the idea...
Devs you need to go back to how it was PRE SEASON 4. We had far less issues with season releases back then because things were done properly and not rushed...

Wow... just wow...
Report card time. For the development team.
Good note, the new fed start is beautiful,
Bad note, you removed the the KA story completely.
Good note, the new adventure zone is fun,
Bad note, you broke the mail system... again.
Grade... B-
Was actually surprised to not have the server crash for once, especially when I was in a full sphere instance, and only noticed a bit of lag.
Still have the problem of not being able to find objectives that easy in the sphere maps.
You really need better waypoints on the actual hud, and not the 2dmap....
This was also part of tribble feedback that was ignored!
For some reason, I want to make a joke about "While you're at it, run a Level One diagnostic on all key systems"...
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross; but it's not for the timid." -- Q, TNG: "Q-Who?"
^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...
Such a bummer.... I wasn't scheduled to go to bed for another hour... Now I have to do something actually productive like catch up on bugging facebook friends.. hehe
So.. PWEFLAKES AKA BRANDON... are they going to fix the loading screen? It still says Legacy of Romulus while logging in. Kinda funky

I was thinking the same thing.
The true reason most likely was either they put a lot of effort into it not being the usual can't login/lag/crashing etc... or...
The pure lack of wanting to play some Dinosaur hunt with Trek ships/away team weapons lol.
I have noticed a lot of the people who have been with the game for years didn't even bother to stop and ask what is going on with season 8 or even to login to look. I guess that is how bad the turn out is for this.
Working: Most of season 8 content. (Most, not all, and certainly not without bugs)
Not working: Most of the basic functions of the rest of the game. Oh and all the stuff that was broken before.
"I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos."-Walter
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

I was actually surprised that I was able to log in after a new season patch LOL.
Its a first for Cryptic
The downtime is good though gives me a chance to catch up on some TV.
As for the whole dinosaur thing I just pretend they are feds with a permanent halloween costume.
We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tonight, Tuesday, November 12th, at 11:45PM PST (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.
Thanks for your patience and understanding,
- The Star Trek Online Team
As for me You can just DELETE S8.No more my money for STO.
New reputation... pathetic.
IT IS NOT A STAR TREK ANYMORE!!!!
Yeah, I wouldn't go as far as caling a failure on S8.
Firstly, because it is the first time, after a huge 'patch', I have been able to boot into STO more or less without issues. -High Five on that.
Secondly. No freaky stuff has happened yet. I.e. -I dare not test out any but the new stuff as of yet. Well knowing that everything aren't Pearls and Honey.
To avoid depression: DO NOT check email, Exchange, banking. Do NOT change spaceships, uniforms nor boffs. Be very careful about zoning.
- Crashes are occasionally occurring in the Allied and Contested zones. We are continuing to work on a resolution and will note it in patch notes once one is available.
- Some players are experiencing a crash during the loading screen. We are continuing to work on a resolution and will note it in patch notes once one is available.
- Mail cannot be deleted.
- The Romulan EV suit light is in the wrong spot.
- There is some clipping with female legs and skirts.
I downloaded yesterday a patch and I had problems. It came to the screen where to pick a toon and then game crashed. Later I could go in, but there is one more problem when I am in the game other toons are blured, and they are little close to my toon.

I would say that considering problems we all had with LOR release, this update works just fine. The problem is content!
It is so stupid!
If we could just buy reputation with ZEN, i wouldn't never ever visited SPHERE!

half of the good foundry missions, and all but one spotlight mission, have vanished from the list

To err is Human, to forgive, Divine. To TRIBBLE with you incessantly is Q. Or Orion... I have't quite decided, though the meaning differs somewhat.
Good luck getting that little diagonal line out of the 0's in the coding guys.
