You're being a hater, and racist, and being half Mexicans changes nothing.

Last I check Flores is not a Mexican only name, in comes from Spain, and many Latin American countries use it.

She does not even have an accent, so how the hell is she the Token Mexican, Picard is French and the guy speaks with an English accent.

and since you can make her look how you want later, she can be any nationality you want.

    IDIC fail.
I see what you did there...

I am not sure I like Tovan Khev. I am not sure he is a good Boff. I am not a new player but I still consider my self as someone that has to learn here.

But Tovan Khev does like me and my characters ar far from perfect. That is the way I see it. He stays around and wants to be part of my crew even with mediocre not very sociable captains. Please give the guy a break. He is not that bad.

Tovan Khev is the Chief Sanitation Officer aboard the I.R.W. Aehalla. His cabin is right next to the primary waste processing system, and his main duties involve cleaning out the ship's bathrooms with a toothbrush. Despite this, he keeps hacking into ship's communication channels while my away team is attempting to contact the bridge to try and give me orders. Only Cryptic Law prevents Admiral Movar from putting a disrupter to his head and pulling the trigger, before sending Tovan on an inspection tour of the outer hull without an EV suit.

Tovan Khev must die. In a plasma fire. :P

Very glad that Flores will follow in the KDF's footsteps and be dismissable if I choose to do so. One of my favourite parts of this game is putting together a unique crew of BOFFs, with names and backgrounds of my choosing. I can't believe that making Tovan dismissable after the Nimbus missions is proving so impossible for Cryptic. Getting stuck with him again is the biggest reason why I've not been levelling up my second Romulan character, a Reman.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

What some players seem to forget is that Tovan Khev is integral to the Romulan storyline. Although some would reply to this fact with the assertion that he should be dischargeable once the storyline has ended, this overlooks the very real possibility, as someone in the Romulan Gameplay subforum pointed out recently, that the Devs are not finished with him, but have something else planned for his story.

If that does turn out to be the case, wouldn't you all feel silly for being too impatient and freaked out to retain him and thereby becoming unable to do whatever mission(s) the Devs implemented involving him? I can almost already see some reply post in which one of our local geniuses retorts "No. 10chars" -- okay, Weisenheimer, and if the reward of that mission or missions is some Uber Rare Mk XIV death ray?

Haste in judgment often results in regret. Try to remember that; it will save you a lot of grief in life.

This is precisely why I hate him. My character is supposed to be integral to the Romulan storyline, but instead it feels like playing, 'Legacy of Romulus, Starring Tovan Khev! With Special Guest Star, the Player Character!'

I'm just gonna make this point because most people seem to constantly ignore it: FLORES CAN BE DISMISSED.

Do we get a free BOFF slot to house this force fed BO?

I kinda like how they did Tovan and the others you added on the Romulan crew. It gave you a more back ground story as you progressed. Unlike the others when I did the Fed or KDF. You just saw one wanted to join. Nothing special about them. However some likes it that way so they can create their own crew. So I'm glad they offer an option as you go play. Its a shame they didn't give the option to the Romulan anyways. At least after the Romulan story line ended. Since he wasn't used again.

As for the new Federation person. I might make room for her/him. After I see what they are all about come next week. Even the Klingon guy you picked up from the new KDF story stayed with my crew. Thought he could prove helpful.

You won't participate in the Fed tutorial? 'Cause that's where you pick up Elisa Flores - she's your very first officer.

And she's not exactly Tovan - she's not an essential part of the storyline beyond the tutorial itself, and she's dischargeable. You can't edit her info, more's the pity, but that's about it. And she does give you Heavy Torpedo to use both in the Klingon ambush and in the new version of the Battle of Vega.

I played through the new fed tutorial on tribble. I honestly liked the issued crew they give you, and the woman is a pretty good tac officer, the soldier trait on her is pretty good.

Flores is adjustable in the tailor on tribble, so there is that at least. but keeping the name locked out and having access to the biography would obviously be helpful in establishing a background between the characters, just for future reference.

Just another reason I'll have to stick to a single KDF toon if I ever start playing STO again :)

Remember those days when we got to pick the first BO we got? It was a Vulcan science, Andorian Tac, or whatever engineer (never picked the engineer because the Amazon Borg BO was engineer).

The devs don't like us having choice. But as they try to add voice work, it's kind of why I see why they are doing it. But at least keep it real. I had a Klingon male warrior sounding like a girl in one mission. Michael Dorn didn't teach them anything that Klingon males don't sound like teenage girls?

May be Cryptic should leave to VO work to those who know how to do it properly.

i wouldn't be too harsh with the VO, even Dorn and Crosby had some wooden VO moments and these are active actors still. anyone can voice act, i could make a reasonable Klingon with the right software. the problem with the VO actors on the game with Klingons except the ones playing B'Vat and K'Valk is the lack of pretend teeth and outright confidence in the voice so they make dreadful Klingon voice overs. there is one woman who has done about 10 different ingame npc characters and most notable is the computer voice for the feds and notifications as well as Commander Nadel and that distinctive accent is hard to mask. i would be more happier with a more varied line up, i doubt Cryptic would do it but casting for roles for a lot of the characters in trek to voice over from the community would be nice to do and it would add a sense of unity to the various members in the game community and Cryptic wouldn't need to hire people, it would be done for free. heck even add some actual staff to have some voice work on the side if you want, hearing Branflakes voicing someone like Admiral Quinn, the man in charge and why not? :D

    True. :D

Honestly I think the reason the devs took out the choice of boff in the tutorial was that it was largely an empty choice. I always, or almost always picked the tac. The other two had skills that were useful, but the tac was just more useful.

The new Fed tutorial takes a page from the Romulan/Klingon tutorials and gives you a full set of 4 officers that you naturally pick up over the course of the mission. The fourth seems odd because during your graduation you meet basically your full crew and one of them could have been the fourth instead of the one you get, but all of your officers do have a little backstory to them.

Elisa cannot be renamed but can be dismissed.
The other 3 can be renamed/tailored/dismissed as usual.

Federation values to offer a good discharge must be made universal! Alternatively let us put Khev in a very dark place, not taking up space. For a universe so filled with emptiness, he sure makes you doubt sometimes, how endless can it all really be! ;)

Maybe in the future there will be technological advances, enabling us to kick someone out of the airlock. With all proper respect and ceremony!
