TRIBBLE Maintenance and Release Notes - October 25, 2013

We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.35.20131023a.6

Features:

Solanae Dyson Sphere Adventure Zone:
  • Travel through the Tau Dewa Sector Block to a gate near the Jouret system.
    • Travel through the gate requires a level 50 character.
  • Sphere space is divided into two major zones:
    • Allied Zone
      • Joint Command Operations hold sway here and conduct scientific and military missions to defend their territory and shut down the sphere?s dangerous operations.
    • Contested Zone
      • Allies and Voth battle back and forth for control of strategically important towers which control the sphere's energy distribution network.
  • Each zone is made up of Neighborhoods
    • Each neighborhood has a dedicated mission giver that will grant the player a single thematically appropriate mission
      • These missions are randomly selected from a pool of available missions
    • Throughout the zone are small found missions that will randomly appear and give the player the opportunity to learn, fight, or explore the sphere.
    • Zones also contain a number of events that will randomly appear, prompting everyone in the map to coordinate for a given task
      • Rewards are based on scoreboard participation
  • You will be rewarded with Dyson Marks and Commendations to use with the Dyson Joint Command Reputation.
    • In addition to these rewards, you will also have the chance to find unique short missions, earn exploration accolades, and find rare or very rare duty officers that further tell the story of the sphere, its builders, and their mysterious disappearance.

The Breach:
  • This is a new five-man, 25-30 minute event that is available from the queue at any time. It is playable by mixed Starfleet, KDF and Romulan Republic teams. The Breach is designed for teams of level 50 characters and has both Normal and Elite Difficulties.
  • Captains will attack the Voth Fortress Ship, an enemy ship on a scale never before seen.
    • The attacks will focus on destroying Integrity nodes located around the hull.
    • Along the way, captains can destroy hull hard points to further increase the progress of the assault.
    • Once enough damage has been done to the Voth Fortress Ship players will be able to blow a hole in the side of the ship allowing them to enter it.
    • When the captains are inside they will face Voth ships and automated defense systems that will try to keep the captains from destroying the main power source.
  • This event rewards Dyson Sphere Marks or Fleet marks with bonuses for saving captured ships and escaping the fortress ship at the end.

General:
  • Foundry is back on!
    • Try out the Voth space and ground enemy groups!
    • Many UGC maps are white but there are 15 that work fine for Foundry testing.
  • The Big Dig rewards Dilithium once again.
  • Resolved an issue with clipping on the Romulan Republic Upper Uniform #1.
  • Resolved an issue where Omega sets were sometimes not appearing on certain Romulan characters.
  • Resolved an issue that that was causing the Diburnium Personal Armor to have no costume overlay for Federation characters.
  • Klingon Honor Guard (and Adapted MACO) Shield descriptions have been updated.
    • The Placate trigger on these shields has also been fixed to correctly only fire a max of once per 10 second period of time.
  • Resolved an issue with Dyson joint Command Commendations dropping after each play of Storming the Spire.
    • Commendations will now correctly drop once a day from the first play of either Storming the Spire, The Breach, the capture voth points battlezone daily, or the allied and contested zone dailies.

Content:
  • Dyson Sphere Battlezone:
    • Resolved an issue where the V-rex would sometimes not respawn and would stop the battlezone from resetting.
    • Made rollover coins purple.
    • Named roaming bosses now drop more Command Credits and Rollover Buffs when killed.
    • All Rollover Buffs now have the correct activation FX associated with them.
    • Resolved an issue with Shield Hardening on this map that was causing Voth shields to be more resilient than intended (80% instead of 20% extra resistance).
    • The Repel Field used by the Polyonax-class Exosuit no longer has a chance to Knock, but only Repels.
    • The leave battlezone interact should now send you to the Contested Zone.
    • Battlezone tutorial episodes are now available through the episode journal.
    • Reinforcement contacts will now have information regarding possible rewards for summoning reinforcements.
    • Resolved an issue where the swarmers would only attack captains and never the Voth or any allied NPC's.
    • Resolved an issue where the mini-bosses would spawn, kill themselves, then spew out buffs and Voth command credits.
    • Defeating a Viriosaurus Rex will only reward players that participate in defeating it
      • Defeating a Viriosaurus Rex will now reward at least one Voth Cybernetic Implant. 1 for 1 zonewide V-Rex kill, 3 for 2 zonewide V-Rex kills and 5 for all 3 zonewide V-Rex kills.
  • New Federation tutorial
    • Flores should reliably spawn on the ship bridge at the end of the tutorial.
    • More updates to the cutscenes.
      • These are still not in a final state.
    • Resolved more issues when logging out of the tutorial broke progression.
    • Resolved an issue where wounded bridge officers would sometimes not spawn.

Systems:
  • Dyson Joint Command Reputation
    • Moved Dyson Heavy Combat Armor Mk XII project from Tier 1 to Tier 5
    • Moved Dyson Reactive Personal Shield Mk XII project from Tier 5 to Tier 1
    • Dyson Regenerative Shield Array Mk XII: Replaced shield Proton resistance with shield Antiproton resistance.
    • Experimental Proton Weapon Mk XII: Resolved an issue that caused this weapon to deal far less damage than was intended.
    • Dyson Heavy Combat Armor: Slightly reduced this armor's crouched damage resistance.
    • Slightly decreased the armor's physical, kinetic and proton damage resistance.
    • Updated the power icon for the crouched damage resistance bonus.
    • Completing the Tier 1 Upgrade project in this reputation now unlocks a Transwarp to the Sphere Allied Zone.
    • Spire Fleet Holding Vulnerability Locator/Exploiter Tactical Consoles.
      • Slightly reduced the effectiveness of weapon type (+Beam, +Cannon, +Mine, +Torpedo) bonuses on these consoles (25.5% to 22.3%).
      • Added damage type versions of these consoles (+Phaser, +Disruptor, etc.) that add a 25.5% bonus.
      • There are versions of these consoles for each damage type.
    • Weapons and Consoles awarded through this reputation's Dilithium Stores and Dyson Equipment Requisition boxes no longer have any sell value.
  • Spire Fleet Holding
    • All Starfleet Fleet ships unlocked from this holding now consistently have (Starfleet) after their entries instead of (Fed).
    • Added some new icons for numerous projects.
  • Romulan Republic Reputation
    • Resolved an issue where the last item on the list in Tier IV's description was formatted incorrectly.
    • Fixed a typo in the Romulan Tier 5 Reputation power, Quantum Singularity Manipulation.
  • Task Force Omega Reputation
    • Completing the Tier 1 Upgrade project in this reputation now unlocks a Transwarp to Defera System Space.
  • Powers updates:
    • Diplomatic Immunity may now only be activated while in Sector Space.
      • Updated description for Diplomatic Immunity Buff which appears when you mouseover the buff icon.
    • Tuned Anti-Borg Device (from Defera) recharge reduced from 20s to 5s.
    • Resolved an issue where the +% Mine Weapon Damage enhancement from Variable Geometry Detonators would not increase Mine damage.
    • Gravimetric Torpedo Rifts
      • The initial Pull caused by Gravimetric Torpedo Rifts has been reduced.
      • Corrected the color of Gravimetric Rifts to match Photonic projectiles.
    • Torpedo Spreads using Gravimetric Photon Torpedo now only have a chance to create a Gravimetric Rift on the first hit.
    • High Yield Torpedoes using Gravimetric Photon Torpedo now only spawn a rift on the primary target they impact, instead of every target in the affected area
    • Unequipping any kit will now instantly expire any buffs or debuffs granted by any power in that kit.
    • Accolades: Syndicate Boss now properly rewards its bonus damage vs. Orion ground NPCs, and will appear in the Passives menu.
    • Subspace Jump now makes the user unselectable for .5 seconds when activated, causing the user to break all current target locks on them when activated.
  • Traits - Pirate
    • Resolved an issue where Bridge Officers with this power were not passing the power to their Captain.
    • The damage bonus of the Pirate trait stacks across multiple stationed Bridge Officers and a Captain, but the stealth bonus is limited to one copy and does not stack with any other trait-based Stealth bonus.
  • Voth Dreadnaught
    • The Depth Charges deployed by the Voth Dreadnaught have been improved in seeking ability and radius.
    • Dreadnaughts are now unstoppable due to their size and immune to crowd control.
  • Science Ships -Sensor Analysis: Tooltips for weapons and damage abilities now display the damage bonus from Sensor Analysis to your current target.

Known Issues:
  • Many in game maps and most UGC maps will appear white.
    • There are 15 UGC maps which are not white and can be used for testing.
  • Some people will experience framrate drops in the Battlezone.
  • Ships appear translucent on the Character Select screen.
  • Romulan captains cannot rearrange their HUD in system space.
  • There is an away team pick prompt each time you transfer from space to ground.
  • The boss in the final encounter for the Breach can only be attacked at certain angles.

    The priority one podcast addressed this. I would not expect silver access to tribble till a test weekend is announced. Geko was not 100% certain there would be a reward weekend though. Their reason for this was the high volume in testing and previewing caused a significant drop in holodeck usage and also in new content play.

    He did not expressly say that tribble access was a gold perk, but for now they are using gold status to limit the overall population in the server and keep interest high for the upcoming season release.

    So, in other words, I might as well delete the gigabytes of now-useless game files I have lying around, as I can't use them for testing anymore. :mad:

    The Dyson Heavy Combat Armor was moved to Tier 5? Darn, that was a really useful item to get at T1.

    Dyson armor was moved to T5 and made weaker.. Was it really that good?

    I figured that gold-only access = closed-beta testing. I'm ok with that :-). I've seen the previews from videos posted to youtube and am ready for this to go to the Holodeck. Even got two new slots for new characters just to try out the new tutorial

    Have I missed something or the Voth Rep system so far has only one Event for it? Will there be more? Will there be more "events" for Fleets, Romulan Rep, Nukara Rep??? Or have we moved on?

    I believe the event in this patch makes 2 queue events total so far plus the adventure zone.

    From notes:
    Commendations will now correctly drop once a day [every 20 hours] from the first play of either Storming the Spire, The Breach, the capture voth points battlezone daily, or the allied and contested zone dailies.

    EDIT: Also via the Dyson Mark to Commendation conversion project.

    2 queues + adventure zone + Battlezone, so there should be a number of ways to earn them just on currently shown stuff.

    • There are versions of these consoles for each damage type.
    Damage type specific consoles are certainly a step in the right direction to make more builds (mixed beam/cannon) viable, however, any chance to add energy+projectile hybrid consoles? Putting it into the most basic variants of +beam/+torpedo; +cannons/+torpedo; +beam/+mine; +cannons/+mine, we're talking about 4 more consoles to break the superiority of energy or projectile only builds and allows e.g. the typical canon setup of energy weapons + torpedoes to be a viable alternative.

    "The Breach"...

    Once inside, does the team split up, with one group trying to get some of those TIE F- Er, Voth ships to follow them, while the other group takes out the power regulator on the north tower? Do we get bonus marks if the main power source is taken out by a Tuffli?

    This might be a dig, but it's a friendly one, and an idle jest. I'm really looking forward to playing this. Season 8 seems to be the "shake things up" season: enemies and missions specifically designed to penalise FAW-spam and turretscorts, massive ground battles... It's fun!
