    No way that they're going to give away that level of stuff.

    I highly doubt that they are ever going to give away the refit Steamrunner class. The way Brandon said it, it will probably be a ship that is fairly expensive, but I don't think it is one that is exclusive to Steam.

    Well the only speculation I have is more a 'worry' than anything else. Namely that if there are any tier 5 ships in that 'free stuff' they will give out, I worry that it wouldn't count for a fleet ship discount.

    Depends on what the ship is of course.

    I'm expecting stuff that otherwise doesn't sell especially well, so ships probably T3 at most (if even that far) and the less-popular ones at that, or maybe shuttles. Stuff that people actually pay money for, like the Goomba or Karfi, are right out.

    Heh knowing my luck, every release will be something I bought at the last ship sale anyways (went a little nuts for consoles and costumes for fleet refits).

    Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...

    What little we know:

    1. Starts with a costume, ends with a ship.
    2. Every day most likely will be "worth more" than the previous day. Therefore, no T1 ships as they cost 500 zen, and monday's costume = 550 zen...

    Therefore, here goes:

    Monday - Costume. Thinking Fed TNG Admiral's set, decent set from KDF, not sure of all theirs...

    Tuesday - Race. I'm seeing Fed Klingon / KDF human, or Joined Trill that boosts science and is available to both Fed and KDF...

    Wednesday - Ship. T2 grade, guessing Excalibur (cruiser) Fed, Orion T2 if one even exists, otherwise I'm anticipating the Gorn Science or the BoP.

    Thursday - Bundle. Fed only, as I don't think KDF has a costume/ship theme pack. I can definitely see it being the Enterprise set, though there's a slim chance that they'll drop the ToS set since many people already have the uniforms from that pack from last year's giveaways.

    Friday - ship. T5, old "veterans token" ship. Gal-R for Feds, Gorn Sci for KDF (give another sci option to the KDF that's not the carrier)...
    Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

    Nah we don't know that. What was said was the value would increase costume to ship was an example.

    Did not read the thread did you? Everything that is in the giveaway is an acount wide unlock. Ships, outfits, race.. Items you can claim on all toons over and over that meet the requirements.

    Brandon did not mention anything about account unlocks, Maybe one will be account bank or extra character slots. i can see extra slots to get people to grind those and buy stuff later for those characters but then again this shouts get new stuff thats useable with lower level characters so BUY extra slots..

    Stuff that I would not be able to get since I already have it and maybe one or two items that I can actually claim, but have no desire to use it.

    My guess is that old TOS outfits will make an appearance as they've been in previous giveaways on various sites.

    Shipwise, I'm not really sure. Possibly starter ships(NX, T'varo, etc.), maybe small craft(I doubt it, as KDF and Rom only have a single C-Store option). It might be neat if they throw up the second anniversary ships(non-bundle Oddy/Bortas), but I doubt it as they're available through fleets now.

    A tribble or a non-combat pet is probably a safe bet.

    Not really sure about bridge officers(they're not account unlocks - one per purchase), and Racial unlocks are extremely unlikely.

    branflakes already stated it won't be tokens or boost so what u put is pretty much not gonna happen he alreasdy stated a few days well be ships

    Day 3: Academy Uniforms

    Day 4: Joined Trill species

    Day 5: D'kyr/Varanus

    Starts with a ship... ends with a ship. Progressively increases in value.

    probably stuff that was in collectors edition like the red matter thing, the projectile weapon, doff starter pack, ...stuff like that.

    or maybe even the TOS enterprise and the klingon equivalent when that was promotional when f2p went live.

    I doubt the team is going to give a way stuff that was purchased with the Collector's Edition. Because they still have agreements in place. And giving away species unlocks like Joined Trill would be a slap in the face or those people who originally bought the Digital Deluxe (before F2P).


    Knowing the company, the freebies will likely be items that aren't popular sells. For instance C-store Tribbles, certain costumes, and of course unpopular ships.

    So I could easily see:

    Monday: Tribble

    Tuesday: Costume (Betting on either the T'Pol, Counselor, or Bajoran Outfits).

    Wednesday: T3 Ship Fed = Nebula or Excelsior , Klingon = SoQob Raptor (they gave it out for free during F2P, won't be surprised if offered again). Other possibilities is the Orion Dacoit Carrier or the Gorn Phalanx.


    Thurday: Melee Weapon Pack

    Friday: Galaxy Refit / Orion Maruader Cruiser

    Most of this stuff makes them money (maybe not all the time), so if anything it would probably revolve around a free tribble if at all, or simply 1-5 lobi per week!!! Either way it's highly doubtful that any free goodies will arise until they have tons of plentiful stuff available from their store.

    Masterkey makes sense. Some casino give away free chip for new customer, so they start, enjoy the feeling of gambling, and want to continue. Considering the box are more or less the same than gambling, it makes sense.
    If I was Cryptic, and I wanted to make money from it, I'd give keys, single ship from less sold pack (odyssey, bortas...), and maybe ending with a big seller single ship (vesta comes to mind). So people have 1/3 ship, and they may want to have the console set, others skin, whatever, and buy the rest of the pack. If they do so, they'll pay the same price as someone who paid the full pack right away (2500 zen, one ship is "free" if you buy a pack), which mean no matter what, they earn the same amount of money from the sale.

    Im not too fussed what it is: I think it is a very nice notion from Cryptic and I shall enjoy whatever freebies I get.

    I would however, be delighted if the: NX & Federation Klingon was included, however, as I was going to buy both. :D

    I want to know how they will handle players who already paid for it, will they see fit to give us something else or even the Zen Value?

    I seriously doubt it. It will just be a case of 'tough luck' I suspect. Cant complain though, free is free.

    Even worse, I just bought all the low-lvl Orion FDCs and Gorn ships last weekend, so that about completes my collection FED/KDF side... I don't mind having had paid for the ships I bought during the sale, but if any of them turn out to be the up for grabs in the give-away, it's going to be one bitter pill to swallow. :D

    Anyway, if I had a penny for every time I heard people saying they just bought thousands of zen or got an LTS just a day (or in some cases just hours!) before a sale was announced... so don't expect any compensation I guess.

    Let's just wait and see, but it's highly unlikely they'll give free ships.
    Bank slots, costumes, tribbles and perhaps a doff pack.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Why? they already did once...
    and i'm sure they will exclude items that can be claimed multiple times (like keys, doffslots, shipslots, doff packs...), and i'm absolutely sure that they will exclude "cash cows" (like keys, most ships younger than 1 year plus kar'fi, guramba, defiant retrofit, excelsior....).

    Well what ever they give out, being a player from beta, I most probably already own them.
