Scimitar vs Typhoon

The brand new romulan Faction get a Scimitar before the Federation gets access to a Typhoon?

    what Typhoon

    and why not the Fed Side has already 3x3er Sets and more then enough Ships (we dont need more) we need Missions and i mean not Fountry Missions and a Explore Part and Memory Alpha Crating need rework...
    The Kling have 1 and Rom 1x3er set now too.
    18 Cpt on the way to 60: 14 of them are already 50 or over 50, one is 60 and 3 almost 43

    The Federation lineup of ships is very well stacked in every category. Escorts, Cruisers, and Sci Vessels. Not to mention a bewildering array of styles within the 3 ship types. The KDF is still way behind despite being around at release, and the Romulans are lacking in ship options.

    Sorry, the Federation has had it good for so long. Others need more work now in ships.

    feds have a lot of ship: cruisers, escorts and sci vessels... single ships and bundle (andorian escorts, vesta and odissey). romulan have a few ships at the moment and klingons do not see any new ship since a long long time.

    I think feds can wait at the moment...

    Not counting ships from the fleetstore or from lockboxes or the Vet Destroyer or the Anniverserry Cruiser, Feds have 27 RA and VA ships, KDF has 13, Romulans have 11 (including the Scimitar 3-pack).
    Yes, even with the Scimitar 3-pack, the Feds have MORE ships than the other two factions TOGETHER.

    The Scimitar is the equivalent of the vesta (not for his stats, but as a faction ship). Someday in the future, the Romulan will also have the Bortasqu'/Odyssey equivalent, and the timeship. I suppose the KDF will also have the equivalent of the vesta, I think it will be an engineer oriented ship, my guess on a battlecruiser.

    Feds got a lot of ship, KDF got some, Rom got nothing untill now :-x
    CO LT, STO LT, played NWN and NWN2 before and another DnD games

    Because the Typhoon's a somewhat ugly kit-bashish low poly ship that should be scrapped :P



    Nah seriously though, I see the Oddysey as the Typhoon's successor/replacement.

    Answer: Because the Federation already have a Carrier and the Romulans didn't.

    I'm not sure about the Typhoon per se, but I think a ship with the paired nacelles on each side would be cool.

    Romulan Vet ship first, however. :)

    Because dstahl said this in December's Ask Cryptic.

    "The Typhoon Class is a dreadnaught that will most likely not appear as a playable ship until we increase the skill point cap to full Admiral. Even then, we haven?t yet decided if this will be a player ship, but we can be convinced to make it so if there is enough support for it."

    So if it becomes playable, then it would be a Tier 6 ship not a Tier 5.5 ship. Since we have no Tier 6 ships, then no Typhoon.

    Sure it is. It comes with a permanent cloak and no communication array. The only players that have access to it are the ones who already knew where it was.;)

    I admit it. I WANT a real Federation dreadnought be it a Typhoon or a Jupiter with a new model to play rather than being stuck with an engineering heal bot that has a console cloak and a gimmicky lance in a game that's really a DPS race more than anything...

    I understand the need for ships for all factions. I understand that the Federation has the largest player base and therefore gets the most C-Store attention. It is what it is. I am not going to object to any of the factions getting ships right now while the others wait. I trust that the team knows what it can do and when it should do without me needing to scream no X should be taken care of first.

    When you want me to drop some more cash, make me a real Federation Dreadnought. Enough said. :)

    The Jupiter and Typhoon are already in the game, and some people want them. I don't see what harm is done by just letting people have them...

    If the Jupiter was made playable... it would probably fill the "Dedicated Carrier" role like the KDF Vo'Quv. Although ugly as hell, the Jupiter does look like it would make a good carrier. The Typhoon might make a decent playable dread, but for now... our best dread is probably either a well set up Vesta or Odyssey. Galaxy-X doesn't exactly work right now. She needs some work to make her viable in the current ship climate. And the Bortasqu's kinda in the same boat as the Galaxy-X from what I've heard.

    The Typhoon is an Ugly POS, and it needs to be burned, and thrown into a black hole, and our minds Pulaskied so we forget that abomination ever existed.

    Because the Typhoon is an original design, they're not confident that they can milk money out of it the way they can cramming ships that have been seen in Trek before into the game regardless of whether they make any sense at all.

    I expect the next C-Store ship will be a Voth city ship with Genesis Torpedoes. :rolleyes:

    typhoon and Jupiter were kitbashed together to fill the void for npc ships that were needed at the time , it isnt just a case of ' making them available '

    the meshes are basic in the extreme , and would need completely redoing before being made available to players

    Dear god no the Veta is 100 times better looking then the Typhoon, hell even Cryptic hates how the typhoon looks like that's how bad the ship looks.

    well being a bore I like the cheap 5 minute version one they made.... it has the battleship feel to it...

    where as the vesta looks like a toaster squashed onto an ironing board.

    These two posts are exactly right. Romulans and KDF need to get more attention both for ships, uniforms, bug fixes etc. This isn't a one faction game and Cryptic needs to start showing some more attention to the other faction for the next year or two.
    Support the Game by Supporting the KDF, equality and uniqueness for all factions!
