I'd look into that Brandon, just in case those weren't just chat-trolls.

EDIT: After investigating myself, the chat trolls were false :) if you find evidence otherwise, please send me a forum PM. -Brandon

So whats with the double standards cryptic?

Some of the sites linked by the promotion page are dodgy-TRIBBLE-grey-area serial resellers : the VERY FIRST website listed sells gold/accounts/items for pretty much every major MMO.

Yet Cryptic are currently auto-banning people for typing the names of spammers and they send us to a gold farmer to buy zen? wtf idd

Nicer offer. But i have canceled my financial support for this game, until you fix the bugs and reduce the maintenance time.

After that, i will support this game again, because generally it is a good game with capability. With or without 15%. ;)

    I totally agree with you.
They money they get each month should be more than enough to keep the servers online, fix the bugs some of which are still here from Beta.

It's like giving someone $$$ to kick you in the junk, thanking them, and then paying them to do it again.

although I realy like STO, I must agree with stepenc, darthpetersen and many others about spending money on this game when there's so many problems.

Even before LOR we experienced so many lag, DC and of course bugs (like HE+eject warp plasma, shuttels messing up with ships stuff stats etc) that havent been fixed or explained.

I'm computer tech but I used to be a programmer many years ago, so usualy I tend to support them completely...

    but sometimes enough is enough....

Honestly I'm begining to regret my lifetime subscription.

I would normally spend $40 on 2 perfect world game cards for a total of 4000 Zen every month, but this fiasco has me scared to do even that. If this payment method is screwed up imagine the nightmare of using some other way. Best bet, in my opinion, is to wait till there are NO specials in effect, and to actually get what I am expecting. I expect to pay 1 penny for each Zen.

I'm having a different issue. The Promo bonus shows up in the charge Zen checkout when I select the $20 card I bought, but when I hit checkout and it sends me to where I put the card Pin in, the balance is 21.77, so the $20 card I bought isn't enough to cover the purchase of 2300 zen. Basically it's charging me for the 300 extra Zen from the promo, which would negate the point of it being a promo. I haven't checked out yet, please let us know when this other bug is addressed.

It depends entirely on what the exchange rate was when the card was bought by the retailer. The last time they had this bonus going, I could buy a card from Wal-Mart, switch country to US, and it would treat it as a $20 card just fine. Future Shop cards on the other hand, would still want to charge extra.

Since then, even Wal-Mart cards bought in Canada want to charge extra because the exchange rate must have been different that day.

At least PWE cards bought in Canada work without issue.

    Hi Captains,

The grants have been given if you were missing your 15% bonus -- thanks for your patience as we worked to complete it. :) Please check your PWE ZEN wallet for your bonus.

    Regarding this statement I made:
Also, please note that if you happen to have an eligible $25 card, there is no redeem option for $25. Please redeem the card for $20, and then a complete a separate transaction for $5 dollars. While you won't automatically gain the 15% bonus on the second transaction, we will be manually crediting you the bonus -- please allow up to 48 hours for this.

After re-reading it, I see that I forgot to mention that you will still need to file a billing ticket once you redeem the $5 so we can manually credit you. Feel free to send me a forum PM with your ticket number and I will make sure that it is in the right queue -- please allow up to 48 hours for this. (NOTE! Anyone who redeemed the $5 portion between the start of this promotion and yesterday were included in the grant mentioned above, so you shouldn't need to ticket in -- you can check your PWE ZEN wallet for your bonus).

As always, if you have any additional questions or concerns, please reach out to our billing team at http://support.perfectworld.com ('Contact Us' tab, 'Billing' for the category drop down). If you are not able to reach the support site, please email directly to customerservice@perfectworld.com and put "billing" in the subject line and as many details in the message as possible. Filing a ticket is always the preferred method to contact us as you can ensure your ticket is in the right queue via the category dropdown.

    Cheers,

I put in a ticket as I did not receive the 15% bonus on a 30$, $10 and $5 Ultimate game card payment.

    I received an email stating:

    Hello

We apologize for the delay in receiving your 15% bonus Zen. The appropriate amount of Zen has been credited to your account and should be available to you at this time.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us here at Perfect World Entertainment!

    Thank you for playing!
    Perfect World Support

And the ticket was marked as solved, but I still have not received the bonus Zen into my wallet.

All fixed and Zen received thanks to pwebranflakes:)

We just totally got scammed out of more than $5 with this. My wife bought a $30 card for $31.03 and when she went to claim it UltimatePay was billing her for $32.58 and said she still owed $1.55. So instead she claimed $20 and got the bonus 300 zen, then claimed $5 and got no bonus zen. To top things off she has 355 points sitting there being useless. So we got 2800 zen for $31.05, instead of 3450 for $30. A complete scam.

Ultimatepay is PaySpan; it has nothing to do with Ultimate Game Card. Totally different companies. The offer is only for Ultimate Game Card.

So why'd it it send me to PaySpan when I selected Ultimate Game Card from the billing options, hmmm? And not once, but 5 times as I tried to make sure I was doing it right.

Thanks for your patience, Captains! We've just confirmed that the bonus is now working. If you redeemed an eligible prepaid card between the original start time listed and now, and did not get the bonus, you will automatically be credited the bonus to your PWE ZEN wallet -- we are working as fast as possible to grant these bonuses and I will post again once they have been.

Also, please note that if you happen to have an eligible $25 card, there is no redeem option for $25. Please redeem the card for $20, and then a complete a separate transaction for $5 dollars. All attempts to make a ticket result in a redirect error on IE, Chrome, Firefox; cookies allowed, popups allowed, everything allowed for perfectworld.com. I'll try the email address, but you have to know this is pretty stupid.

I seem to have tracked down the "scam" to being Canadian. I find it very odd as PlaySpan wants me to pay more than the value of the card. It even KNOWS how much I paid for it.

    Example:

The cost of a $50 time card is $51.04 CAD at PCGameSupply.com

When I go to claim the card, the Amount Due is $53.82. Notice that in the top right it says "Canada".

However, if I click on "Canada" and change it to "United States" the amount due changes to $50.00

When I input the card number, it actually states $51.04 with $2.78 still to pay.

So not only am I paying the exchange rate when I buy the card, I'm getting charged an extra exchange rate on the inflated value of the card by PlaySpan. Still quite the ripoff. The only way to pay off the $2.78 is by buying a $5 time card (for $5.10) at which point I will have paid $56.14 instead of $50.

I'm wondering if I can go through the entire transaction pretending to be American...

the whole system is messed up. and my 5 dollars left over on my 25 dollar card got auto transfered to some kind of playpoints or some TRIBBLE and i had to use that to redeem my other 5 dollars. the card kept saying already been redeemed. got my bonus on the 20 but not the 5. put in a ticket but this will be the very last time i use this card its annoying as hell

As for pretending to be American there was a time in the past i needed to do just that to get the thing to work from the area i purchased the card from. Thankfully i did not need to jump through hoops this time.

My husband bought me a ultimate game card for our anniversary, but I cant use it because it is charging me an extra $2.77 AUD. What the heck is up with that? Why am I being charged extra for what was suppose to be paid for? I have read every post on this forum. And Brandon has answered all of the other questions except for this one. Why have you not answered this question Brandon? Why are some counties being charged extra? This card is suppose to be PREPAID, that means the zen is already purchased. I should be able to put in the code and it gives me the zen that was already purchased. NOT be charged to redeem the card. I have redeemed Ultimate game cards here in Australia before and I did not run into this issue. When I am given a gift and I cant use it makes me upset. I just want to be able to redeem my $20.00 in zen please. I don't care about the bonus. I just want the zen that is paid for on my card. :(

Could you please add a *Only works for those in the US*

Since after going through the card redemption process to see if it would be worth while to buy these cards for the offer (being in the UK) since the cards only come in US $ variants.
Due to the cards not actually being redeemable straight for points, but having to cash them out into credit and then spend them on points.. taking into consideration that the redeemed credits do not match up at all with the zen prices in the EU.

Long story short if your in the EU and i presume Australia and most other places you would either end up not redeeming the full value of the cards and/or pay more than you would if buying the points straight from PW...

I got a $20 UGC prepaid card and when I select the $20 >> 2,000 + 300 zen option, its asking me to pay for $21.50. Its not accepting the transaction coz its asking for $1.50 more on top of the $20 for the card PIN. It's like I am buying 2,300 zen. What do I need to do?

Hi, I just got 2 Ultimate Game Cards? and they are twenty dollars each. I went to redeem them and I can see that if I had a $50 Ultimate Game Card? I could get my 15% bonus, but no other amounts seem to apply it. I read in another post that if I had a $25 card, I could redeem it for 20, then for 5, and then get a help ticket for my additional ZEN, but would this require any dollar mount other than 50? I'd like to know before I redeem them and could still get a refund at the store if they don't work.

EDIT: I am going to redeem the cards. I trust this company to fix the error. They have been true to their word in the past and I have no reason to think they would be otherwise now. I assume I will just need to create a support ticket (in game?).

EDIT2: you're probably going to laugh at this but the support link on your website in broken. I tried using it with Chrome, Firefox, and IE on my PC and then tried Chrome and Firefox on my Mac. As of now, I have no way of creating a support ticket. You guys in tech support and customer service must be having one hell of a day.

EDIT3: I emailed them on friday with my request for help. Still no reply. I am sure it is because of the weekend. Still, fairly disappointing since the sales end Monday.
