I don't want to play as a damn fridge wear'er! I want to play as a Cardassian. Ideally they would be in the 4th faction, though I wouldn't mind if they were just Cstore Fed Alien Race with unique clothing options. After all Cardassia is sadly a puppet of the Federation.

If Cardassians get placed into the game properly, with proper face types and necks.etc I would certainly make the Cardassian my main.

I don't think the Breen would be "user friendly" enough as the 'fridge' suits wouldn't be customisable enough.
I'm abit bias though towards Cardassians in case you couldn't tell.

Idk how the cardis can become a faction they have been pretty much written out by cryptic the only cardis military is the true way and i dont think cryptic is going to make a bad guy faction

The breen however is workable since any breen force wanting to break away from the confederacy would not be peacefull space hippies or spoon headed beggars.

They would be capable of defending themselves but would need strong allies to stay independent of the breen confederacy.

and as i mentioned the feds and the klinks would love a better look at breen technology maybe even more so then the roms.

Not true, there is still the Cardassian Defence Force. You intervene when they try to destroy one of their own ships because the True Way made it look like the captain was going to defect to them.

Would nice to see the Cardis come in as part of a mini-mini faction : that is 'monster play' like the original KDF was like :D

if they could find a way to put the cardis in the game and not do to them what they did to the romulans aka space farring bajorans then i would welcome them.

but the cardis deserve a better fate then being modeled after the bajorans but whatever they do i hope thier fate is better then how the roms are protrayed.

Yeah, how could they dare to develop the Romulans. Everyone knows that in the grim dark future of the 25th century there's only war.

The Cardassians deserve to finally join the Federation.

They developed them poorly. They didn't even have the sense to retcon that laughable Hobus incident into something more plausible and better capable of supporting a more interesting story.

You mean CBS probably didn't allow them to retcon onscreen canon? They at least tried to explain the nonsense from Abrams-TRIBBLE.

Really, I think that for most of us a buyable, unlockable Cardassian species from the C-Store would do the trick.

Since we have plenty of Fed Cardassian DOFFs I (am I the only collector who would try and have a crew of most Cardies, and already started saving them?) I guess it would be aligned with Starfleet...

Or can the KDF players get Cardie DOFFs too?

In any case - I'd be willing to pay 1000, even 1200 C-Points for it... but I would want it to come with Cardassian uniforms set and a few hairstyles too!

Then, I bet they could sell me a pack of Cardassian starships and off-duty clothing as seen used by Garak... so more C-Points to pay.

I will buy! I wanna pay! Just give me the Cardie goodies! xD

I've also done this , however you can collect them on both sides and now Romulan too I'm guessing.

Not sure I could just do with a pack now but if its play able Cardassian's with a pack of perks or nothing I would settle for that, though I don't think one of the main 4 factions should fully plunge into the Federation , think of the massive gain in territory they would get the power shift would be too great , I think that might be why it's not happened already.

Oh - don't take me wrong. I would LOVE to have a stand-alone Cardassian faction and I'd pay real money for that... just, rather than not having them in any shape, I'd prefer a buyable race unlock.

Right now I have set myself on having a level 50 toon of each faction... gotta admit I don't care much for upper-end content after I max the level, as I play the missions as I'd watch a TV series episode... but something tells me I would very likely make a Cardassian toon my main character and play it on a more consistent base, if I could have one.

The only reason I have not made an "alien" Cardie is that I don't want it to be just another random alien... and I wouldn't want to waste time leveling it within another faction, when there still may be the hope of having a proper Cardassian Cardie.

Imo, when i look at t he races i think that cardassians or uradine are the most merited
    4th race to the game.

After these i'd say Dominion, then Borg Due to the interaction with other races.

Cardassians have played a role with klingons, romulan and federation. So they are highest on the list, But Uradine are realitively untapped source, there is not much about them when it comes to the tv shows, so they have the most potential to grow.

2009 was very vague; I don't recall it ever even mentioning Hobus. They had the freedom to retcon it into something more workable; the only important elements were the destruction of the Romulan star system and the time traveling of Spock and Nero+crew.

I doubt CBS demanded they adhere to the non-canonical comics that brought us the Hobus mess in the first place.

They were never one of the main factions. Their prominence in DS9 is relative to their proximity to the station and their role on Bajor. They were primed for the path to Federation citizenship by the end of DS9.

This here is very similar to my relationship with STO :L though I do play PVE not even interested in PVP though. I Like the Feature episodes and the story content more. A Real Cardassian would be my main, even if it meant starting again.

I have an 'alien' Cardassian as my KDF (I'll get stick but its because I didn't fancy being a Klingon) I've even got my crew as all Cardassians and allot of Doffs as Cardassians and many Gamma quad doff pack races.

You say that however they had a war with the federation which was back storied, allot of work was put into fleshing out the race in DS9 , they came into TNG as random race then a series was built around them as the main bad then good the bad then good race and the occupation that had nothing to do with the federation.
Add to that the territory they hold on galaxy maps they are clearly the 4th main power. Breen Confed and Ferengi alliance don't come close in territory.

    Cardassians ... hmmm ... .

Well since we got the Maquis as "the Romulans" , I'm trying to think of the most off beat "Cardassians" Cryptic could drum up .

    - Half Cardassian , half Bajoran orphans on a 30 level rampage ?

    - Kira Neris turns out to be a Cardassian agent and she leads the invasion of Bajor with Tibble cannons ?

    - The Emissarry returns ... , but so does Gul Dukat (and ROM !!!)

The possibilities to TRIBBLE things up are endless . :o

How about creating a character that has no ties to any faction. Make an open framework for characters that can join any faction or go solo. That way mini factions can be made that these toons are free to join or leave.

    NO. NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO.

I'd rather not have Cardassians at all than have them stripped down and neutered, transformed into pale shells of their former selves.

One faction of new Bajorans is too much already.

That's what I would expect. More so that they need Gul Dukat to return as the cliched villain, and bringing the Emissary back is a logical next step.

Oh yes, we cannot possibly allow the Cardassians to follow their logical social evolution from their fate at the end of DS9.

For those that want to play the bad guy there is the KDF for that, But i wouldnt mind seeing Romulans with a new option to join the Tal Shiar along with the release of kardasians as a playable race with the option of joining KDF or Fed and the option to join True Way. Then PvP could be expanded to have 3 and 4 faction events which adds a whole new dynamic to PvP with temporary alliances, backstabbing and more dynamic battles with all new tactics involved that constantly changes. The 2 faction system becomes more static with both sides doing the same tactics over and over but a third and fourth changes that.

As for how can True way and Tal Shiar gain access to the reputation system is you gain access by pretending to be from either KDF or Fed, On new romulus there could be special missions for Tal Shiar agents to undermine the republic and for True way a way to have special mission to create discord between KDF and Feds.

As a Tal Shire agent you could have mission options that are aimed at trying to turn a right hand man of D'tan or something.

Apparently a 4 faction system is easier to implement than 3 someone I know who knows much much more about how games are out together than I.

I don't know where the hell people get this notion that the Romulan Republic are a group of pseudo-Bajorans.

The Republic are a group of people who had the balls to defy Sela and the Tal Shiar, and strike out on their own. And they are willing to get all the help that they can, and appreciate it.

The Bajorans, on the other hand, are ungrateful asses who want to play terrorist and run off friends when the going gets rough. One part of the population are fanatics, another part isolationists, and the rest jumba stick eating surrender monkeys. The reasonable Bajors have joined, or want to join, Starfleet and get away from the cry babies and bomb thrower wannabes.

The lack of cardassian ships could be worked around by having the cdu implement different modular designs for their current models...ie. Galor class configured to escort/cruiser/science specs.

As for races, I believe most people who are interested in playing cardassian faction actually want to play a cardassian..... there isn't a great need to implement other races.

Hate to quote myself but, (incase you didn't read before)
    galr25 wrote: »
As for ships its not much of an issue in KDF you have various BoP through the tiers , sure this could happen with the Hideki to quote meory alpha (http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Hideki_class)
"The class was used as an attack ship, a patrol ship, and a shuttlecraft."
So they could stretch that out about like have shuttle Hideki maybe the C-store shuttle for CDF and then a Hideki attack ship for commander level , then maybe even a retrofit for T5.
Galor class has had various incarnations the TNG one is Different to the DS9 one (size mainly) for example, maybe the lock box one can be said to be the mid range between the TNG Galor T-3 and the DS9 T-4, Then the T-5 retrofit or a Damar class (t-5 keldon refit or an escort of some sort) can be made and named after Damar for his actions in to reclaim Cardassia.

your ship opinion fits with mine, and would be further expansion on it xD.

Wow what destortion of the Bajorans. They were invaded by the Cardassians, mass murdered, enslaved, *****, tortured, and yes the Bajorans resorted to Terrorism against the Cardassians, they had no other weapons and they were suffering horribly. They did what they had to to take Bajor back. The Cardassians had no business on Bajor.

And if your talking about the Circle that was a blip and it was crushed by the Bajorans.

And the Bajoran Religion in its modern more evovled form is a lovely and wise religion once Kia Winn left it.

Kind of interesting, if lf/when they do a Cardassian Faction, I hope they use the proper ranks like they did for the Romulans. Gil is like a Lt. Commander, Giln is like a Commander, Gu is like Captain, and Legate is like an Admiral.

They have the correct ranks for the others, so I don't see why they wouldn't. I think gil is actually more like ensign though. For the many unnamed ranks they'll have to tap into non-canon sources/wing it.
