EPTA may nto be working as INTENDED, but I think a case can be made it's working as DEMANDED by certain loud groups who tend to get what they want-i.e. fed players who think Klingon ships are OP.
as in: I suspect if Cryptic DOES repair the math error that lets a Fed see you at 30k out and engage your cloaked TRIBBLE at 10k, there will be a ****storm of whining that will make the reaction to the math-correction on the T4 Rep shield passive look...well...passive.
I look forward to it.
And it isn't so much Fed players who think Klingon ships are OP, more that battle cloaking is OP, and getting vaped by a de-cloaking alpha is OP, etc.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
Worst people to ever play games, those goons. They exploit in PvE, use the cheesiest tactics in PvP, go out of their way to disrupt RP and make every MMO they sink their slimy tentacles into that much less fun overall.
Seriously, is there any playerbase they *haven't* pissed off, in *any* MMO they play?

A Sad Panda of Industrial calibre. 2010: This is Cryptic PvP. Please hold the line, your call is very important to us...
But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.
Oh hey, I have full respect for a group of players that use the warp jump console to get outside of a map and become invulnerable! Who wouldn't want to tempt the game higher up the map, warp jump outside and kill people with no chance of being shot at back.
Because that's totally above board...

There is only one Klingon ship that is OP. Well it has a exploit combo that is OP. The BOP/B'Rel damage bonus after decloak is way more that what it is suppost to be. Just as broken as the invisable Borg Tac cube/Gate plasma torp that crits for 300k plus damage. No attack should take out a 40K-ish hull cruiser/carrier with full health and shields and TSS and TT active in under 1 second. I play a Klingon and fly a Grumba, feels like cheating to use a broken ability just to get kills. Even when I hit APB, APA with a Tractor beam then the Grumba Lance it does not come close to the B'rel combo even when it crits.

The Norgh spikes much higher than the Brel. The only advantage the brel has is the enhanced cloak. I have enjoyed both but the Brel is more enjoyable as it enables me to taunt people before I vape'n'bake them.
That said, the Romulans have considerably more potential for spike (WAY MORE) they also have a lot of other TRIBBLE that is just durp.
Implying that a heavily specialized spike Brel is a exploit is just silly. To achieve such spike you have 0 resist other than defense and speed. Careful planning and execution goes into attacks. Small errors, missing a power, missing the power cycle window of an enemy, overshooting, ect ect make the attack lolzy.
As far as spike goes, my highest spike was on a bug /w BO2.
2nd was a Norgh /w BO2
3rd Brel /w BO2
And lastly, in zones like kerrat where 10 feds get a hard-on camping, well it's just lolz.
But I suspect you believe your cruiser should be invincible. I guess that's why zones are full of cruisers and cruisers complain about escorts. It's always been that way. 2+ years ago cruisers would complain about BO2/3 decloak attacks from a Heghta. The only difference is you have more power potential now but ships have higher shield mods and WAY more healing so it seems like a fair trade to me...
And it isn't so much Fed players who think Klingon ships are OP, more that battle cloaking is OP, and getting vaped by a de-cloaking alpha is OP, etc.
You could be in for a long wait, if it ever happens. There is like a million bugs before LoR, and it ain't getting better after LoR is launched, like Human Leadership trait being broken again. Typically, a feature like this is very low down the list of things they need to fix. They will more likely focus on things that impede people from playing like getting booted from the game or even Borg Red Alert not turning. Keep in mind that PvP is a small fraction of the STO users and the number of people complaining about this, even smaller. Case in point, the Deflector Doff ability on Energy Siphon has been broken for a very long time. Many people have notified Cryptic and several threads later, nothing happens, not even an acknowledgement. Someone in my fleet, a lifetime subscriber, has particularly severe stability issue with the servers and was told to wait 6 months to be able to speak to a customer service rep.
While to the Klignons, this may seem like a big deal - well judging by the various threads in the forums, I think some consider that it could put the Klinks on their way towards extinction - though, the right course of action for you is to adapt. Because waiting for Cryptic to come around and fix this is like - forget it.
As if you need more proof, the very rare (purple) Maintenance Engineer associated with EPtA has become the most expensive doff on the exchange by far. I was lucky to snatch one for only 25 million ec yesterday. Seconds later, the other one was bought by someone else and the supply completely dried out as there were only 2. Hours later, 1 more Fed doff remerged along with 2 for KDF - all 3 of them selling for 50 million EC. Not even the Cannons or Attack Pattern doffs sell as much as 50 million EC a piece. It is that ridiculous.
Conclusion : EPtA is here to stay. The only way KDF can deal with this is to adapt or die.
We also have a big bug fix update in the works to address many of the issues that you?ve been reporting such as in game mail, Romulan mission bugs, and much more. QA is checking all these updates and fixes now and we?ll roll them out as soon as we can.
I foresee a resurgence in the popularity of Raptors and BC's in the near future-along with the purchase of a lot of Goombas, lockbox ships, etc. that don't have paper for hulls dim flashlight bulbs for shielding.
I think...I'll finally break down and buy that ship with the Aceton assimilator console. Since I can't cloak, might as well put together the gnarliest drain/petspam build I can work out...
That's the right attitude to approach this. Bugs and non-functional features affect us all and there are lots of them. Human leadership trait not working is big deal too but I certainly don't see 10 threads complaining about it day in and day out. First, it's not going to make Cryptic react any faster at the moment, they are overloaded for the right and wrong reasons. One can only adapt. Though to be honest, I am not about to remove my only 2 human boff from the active roster just due to this bug. A Federation Starship without a single human boff on the active roster is just bizarre. I know people who have since installed 5 Romulan boff obtained from the Embassy on their Fed ship - those non-customizable boff - I just can't do it. I have three of them but put only 2 on the active roster and that's the max I am willing to do. Likewise, it's abusive to have 5 Romulan boff on a Federation Starship just because Human Leadership trait isn't working.

Do you even Science Bro?
I also agree with not minmax, EPTA is lame!!!!!!!!!!!
I look forward to it.

Why is roleplaying being brought up in a pvp thread anyway?
