73 million hardly as expensive as our friend claims.
That's for the lobi cruiser. It looks like they wanted the destroyer. Which is bottoming out now at 115mil. Still significantly less than the 400 to 600 sited, although there is one listed at 498mill. It is still very important to remember that prices on the exchange do not reflect what they go for, they only reflect what sellers are trying to sell for [and haven't managed to sold], so it's always going to be a higher indicator than actual value.
Sold one for 122 mil yesterday (destroyer). They do sell for that much.
Some people have Billion - with a "B" in EC sitting across many toons
They want to be the very first to get any new ship - so if one hits the exchange at $300 million in the first few minutes they buy it.
I know someone that has $1.6 Billion EC and I have heard of some above $3B - 90% of the 3-4 hrs they spend every day on the game is buy and selling on the exchange - like it was a real stock market - for them - "the exchange" is the game.
Theoretically I am a EC billionare to because I have about 1000 unbound purple doffs - avg price is about $2 million - I have a few really hard to find aquatics/purples - some that go for $20millon+ each but it's not like I am going to get rid of them all I just max out doff space at 400 per toon - some never get used - just can't be bothered wasting time on the exchange.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
And yet every few minutes a new So and So got a ship thing goes across the screen.
OP, not everyone is you, a lot of people like things you don't. I know that is hard to fathom, but its true. And to that I say, thank the maker! Because, lets be honest, you have terrible taste :P
take a moment to consider that your personal opinion is not shared by everyone.
these are awesome looking ships that a lot of people are excited to fly. they also do share similarities with the narada which has been asked for, and considering this is one of hakeev's ships in the expansion it would soon have been asked for.
Thats why I had the part saying "nor have I heard anyone else say they wanted those ships". I really don't think this is what people wanted to see in this game aside from a few misguided JJ Trek fans who want this ship even though it doesn't really look like the Narada. I think its safe to say most of the STO community hates JJ Trek.
Those ships don't look awesome either, they are abolutley hideous, and I will always try to kill them first when I see them in PVP just to get that eyesore off of my screen.
We will see soon how much these ships are appreciated, I think the price on the Tal SHiar Destroyer will collapse to how low other unwanted lockbox ships get sometimes like the Orb Weaver and Jem HEC only commanding half the price as popular lockbox ships like Wells or Galor

So, they managed to create a means for a player to effectively main tank in PvP you say?
This is not as popular box going by the message fly-bys
Jem ships where really flying by from the Dominion and of course not a lock box but the Jem bug in a pack must have made many many millions - 1/100 chance on a 275 zen pack - they were flying by every few seconds for the first few days.
.
Good point, I haven't noticed nearly as much of these lockbox popups as there were previous ones like Temporal and Dominion lockboxes. Those were going like crazy on the first few days with constant spam messages saying people won. I think most do agree with me, this was a bad idea for a lockbox.
Really bad timing on it too, most of us are too busy playing our Romulans to even care about this.
I can forgive the Tal Shiar ships, even if they're not to my own tastes (as someone mentioned, great for players running Liberated Borg captains).
My ship-based problem with the box is that they just re-used ships from an older lockbox. That's a weak solution. I mean, I can understand it - lots of work on LoR and the TS Assimilated ships probably left little time for the KDF/Starfleet Mirror ships... But still, it still kind of seems weak. They could've introduced a Mirror Defiant (for all those fans of the DS9 Mirror Episodes) and a Mirror version of a Bird of Prey. (There's been KDF Mirror Cruisers and Raptors, after all, why not a Raider?)
Mirror ships have only been based on t5 free ships, the t5 Defiant is Z-store. All mirror ships only move a single boff seat over, there isn't much new combinations that could be done that are not already available. Mirror BOP would be pointless as all stations are universal. The only free t5 ship besides BOP that doesn't have a mirror variant is the Neghvar, and if you move its ensign to eng or tac it would have same layout as either mirror or prime Vorcha.
I don't think we will see new mirror ships based off of free t5 ships any more. If they made a mirror version of a z-store ship it would likely be also sold in the z-store, or if it dropped in a lockbox would be much more rare then the current ones, maybe even making it the grand prize.

You think the Adapted Battlecruiser won't be seen in pvp much because its a tank?
Well maybe not on premade arena teams, but I don't do premade arena much, I mostly hang out in Kerrat where I am sure I will see it, and do cap and holds, where you also see more variety of ships then in arena. And we will probably see the destroyer more since its easier to get then 800 lobi.

I was poking at your silly remark that you will attack the tal shiar adapted ships first in pvp. As such, you would enable the creation of a 'main tank' role in pvp, without having to use silly stuff like threat mechanics.
I like the ship and the in general box so there :P and after I have find myself a wells from the temporal box i'll probally move onto these (I only open a few a month from my monthly 500/dil/whatever spare cash i have)
But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet, Tread softly because you tread on my dreams
W.B. Yeats Lifer since beta its never been so good! So now can everyone chill this game is going in the right direction :P
I don't like the concept of lock boxes, but I do like look of the adapted cruiser. However, the adapted destroyer looks like a borg sled from a sled dog race, no joke.
Comments
No new pimp melee weapon, no costumes.
Weakest lockbox my time here. Nothing in there I'd use even if I got it for free.
Not that I mind though, if they ever release a ship I actually wanted I'd have to go out and earn for it.

Meet me in a 1 vs 1 with my Tal Shiar Advanced Destroyer.. we will see how stupid this ship will be my friend... !

600m was the price of a JHAS last time I checked.
Which was a few months ago.
I wasn't aware that any item could be listed for more than 500m on the exchange.
This thing you suggest with the miss and the remembering.... it is possible.
