This is the new STO. See above. That is a 2 hour wait to get on the server. As mentioned before most of the world is asleep, at school or work. If it's true all the members are logging on at once then this is a huge oversight and servers should already have been added before the update. And stop with the "Do u realize" and "Be patient" and stand in line TRIBBLE. I don't come from a socialist country. Just stop making excuses for them and voice an opinion that will get them to fix the problem!
So. All these brand new Romulans against the Star Empire are born. They all dredge themselves up from some little rinky-dink colony in the sticks t obegind their laborious journey to become hereos and help bring down the Star Empire.
Suddenly, these fresh born Romulans cannot escape the womb of character select, as they have a magical barrier saying, a series of impossibly long numbers. These numbers count down, slowly, ever so slowly.
Gradually, more and more romulans die in this womb thats called Character Select, wilting away and becoming forgotten until they vanish entirely by the dreaded Delete Character button.
What really gets me is why having the game open and logged into the queue still sends my GPU's temperature so high. It's not displaying anything except a window with text, but my GPU's going from 130 to 160-165~ish.
heck it took me 2 hours to log in today then was logged in for less than an hour total and they kicked me out to login screen. now im stuck behind 24,477 players so itll be 2 more hours till i can play or more.. this login queue is ridiculous. 2 hours to wait for 1 hour of play at a time? how is this worth my time??
damn in 4 hours the que has doubled and all cryptic have done is said they are working on reducing the que... another day the english folk dont get to play there game and they have cheek to ask us to pay money hahahaha

Wow 17500 out of 25326.. was looking at lifetime membership. If I get to jump in front of the line then maybe but, really rather crazy to have a queue.
I'm not complaining as much as I would like because I feel there are people in worse situations. I'm not a subscriber, I'm a F2Per. Even so, I've already spent 20 dollars or so with this game buying master keys and I plan to spend some more, but I would really like to play it.
Cant wait to get my hands on the new stuff and mess with the trait system. This launch reminds me of Diablo III, except for the fact that we could play Diablo III for a decent amount of time at Day 2 (aka one or two hours before the servers went down again) with no queue. That's life I guess.
If this helps you guys gage the speed of access, I logged in at 1:30 local, and was in the 14000 of 16000 range. It is now 3:30 local, and I'm 2200 of 25500. So it looks like 2 hours down and only 15 to 30 minutes to go, barring a disconnect or kick

GAH, spent 2 hours in the queue this afternoon, slowly getting down frm 17,000-some-odd in the line to 1100-some-odd, and my internet connection had the audacity to hiccup. Back of the line I go, #24,658 out of 25,354. *sighs heavily* At least I still have 2 out of 3 books in this trilogy I started in last night's queue wait, and a follow-up #4 book to it.
I was at 25k now i am at 23k and that took 30 minutes so this should take around 5 hours. That is simply unacceptable. I'm goona go back to playing EVE

Pfft... Front of the queue... Means you're still in queue. Even as a Lifer for SOE/DCUO it's 1 second. I've spent an equal amount of money on this game as I did on DCUO and the worst I have to wait if 1 minute. This? Heh... this is like watching the hamster spinning in its wheel.
Holy Deja Vu Batman... this reminds me of the dilithium sink they introduced for season 7. I wonder if this is going to bite them in the TRIBBLE as well. I hope so. I'll pop the popcorn and chill the beers and watch this place go up like Rome did with Nero playing the fiddle.

As the queue is currently at 25230, that's a three hour wait if you're logging in right now.
