Tried to log in about 20 minutes ago and I'm 6807 in the queue of now 13,003. The queue keeps going up, but my position has been 6807 the entire time. This is basically one of the many reasons you guys at Cryptic won't be getting money from me for a lifetime subscription.
.
yeah when I saw lifetime subscription sale I thought "hmm..." and that has quickly changed to "not bloody likely"... think I'll go play SWTOR for awhile..
Heh. Reading the entitled bickering from the LTSs and the Non-US players blaming the Americans for having the audacity to log in at all is actually a lot more fun than playing STO. Anyway, I cancelled my log in attempt. Hope that increases the chances you all will actually get to play tonight. I'll wait a few days.
What really sucks is that I was in game playing, having a good old time and got booted for some reason. Now I'm stuck in queue at 4323. Oh well anybody that expects a launch day from cryptic to go smoothly is completely naive.
On a side note I'm willing to be that a lot of the f2p players end up spending more money on this game in the store than most (not all but most) of the lifetime subscribers. LTS spent a one time cost and now get zen handed to them every month. Silver have to pretty much buy anything they want and the nickel and dime stuff adds up over time.
fixed that for ya

My theory is that no one is actually playing right now. The queue gets you to the loading screen, which times out and kicks you back to login because the maximum number of people allowed in the game are all trying to load in at the same time.
And the instant you time out or abort, a new victim from the queue takes your place, so that no strain is ever removed from the server loading, and everyone is hung up on it at the same time.
I can accept this theory, #163 in the queue for 55 minutes now, since I had the bright idea of changing from my Fed' toon after the server came back up...

I was at 134 out of 14k but now at 2234 out of 14.4k WTF ? , so much for having over 2million captains . how on earth do you have 2 mil playing when the servers are full at 14k ?
There should not be a que for anyone, other mmo usually do not have a que this needs to be looked at and fixed seriously. A lot of people want to play this game, gold mermbers, silver, etc none should have a que. Been playing since beta and havian a que just discourages me so much from wanting to log on with Romulans now playable you should be able to handle everyone wanting on.
OK we're obviously trapped in some kind of spatial distortion. The closer I move the further away target gets. Now 13000+ deep but haven't moved a fraction.
Actually, if you're slot number has stayed the same as the queue has increased, simple math says that you're X% closer to the front of the line than you were when you first logged on. Not that it will get any of us out of queue any faster.
I have been in queue now for 32 minutes sitting at 2823. So far the only number that has moved is the number of people waiting in queue now ranging up at 14608. 30 Minutes and I have not moved up at all. 14K people trying to get in?!?

To all those who say people are just QQing and have a sense of entitlement:
You are what is called a 'customer.' When customers are not happy with the 'service' they have 'purchased,' they tend to look to the competition to fulfill their needs. Cryptic (read: PWE) can only push so far with this kind of stuff until they lose a huge portion of their paying player base. Remember it's the players that pay that keep the game alive, keep the devs fed, and line the pockets of the execs at PWE.
The fact that you are willing to pay more for less (worst product, worse service, less game time, whatever), makes me wonder less why cell phone companies, ISPs, and media companies can price gouge and stick us with terribad adhesion contracts. I guess the masses of consumers just take it like sheep and don't care.

Played LOTRO f2p for months, never any downtime outside server maintenence, and NEVER any login queues. Always saw a lot more players running around, too, even with multiple servers (novel idea). Too bad for me I'd rather be flying starships than thwacking goblins.
so i have to pay 200 dolars lifestime suscription for get 1k queue? that sounds like a good deal /ironic
You really didn't think you were the only person to buy that right? Most the players I know bought that... probably a few thousand people in that club. And the Founder packs get this paid for the man hours to make it, I sure as heck didn't pay a penny for romulan, I love the rest of it, but there was no KDF pack, just silly Romulan ones so I passed. And if you watch how bad they are pushing lock boxes, and lifetimes right now, you might realize they may actually still be in the red. So please don't assume because you paid 200 bucks, and that paid a full team of engineer salaries for over a year while they made this lol.
I got in pretty fast and landed 1489 it has yet to move down, so my bet is your 200 bucks bought the next opening in front of me, so when you get in an hour or so and I am still at 1489 keeping my cool have fun. Its just a game and if you ever ever played one in the last decade you should have seen no amount of money would have saved you from this line lol. Oh and next time you spend 200 bucks read what its for you paid it for a heck of a package deal I would have done it if I had the cash even if this silly patch wasn't today, you reading it as 200 bucks for instant service, well that's just a wee bit crazy; its like buying a cstore ship and getting mad it didn't come with mk XIV gear.
But I suppose you have to get mad at someone for getting your hopes so high today, on what even a sticky warns as an awful day if you got no patience lol.

Almost in... Only 20 min wait time so far... seems strange...
I hope I'm not just gonna see a network loss screen. Or get one as soon as I beam in anywhere. X(
