FLEET ESTABLISHED COLONIES
Allow fleets to establish a colony on planets and moons. Unlike fleet starbases, colonies would be open to other players of the same faction. Fleet benefits by people visiting your colony and engaging in commerce and leisure.
I *hate* *hate* *hate* this idea. It really goes against the crux of what made Star Trek - one ship (or station), one Captain, one crew.
Plus, I don't want to play an Admiral. I want to play - and I think most players agree here - a Captain.
Right on, I totally agree with, Star Trek needs and hopefully stays Star Trek!
But as far LOR right around the corner, i dont except any much more after that. But i could see a little more end game content, like more PVP, PVE, and STF's. Besides that i can not wait untill i can create my own Romulan toon:D
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] "This is Fleet Commander BumBle!..

Other:
- Customizable Jem Hadar, Breen and (unique) Reman Bridge Officers
- Customizable Ship Interiors w/ Uniform Selection for NPC Crew
- Rework the Rank Structure (level 50 should be Captain, not Admiral)
Complete Crafting revamp
"Talarian" Ship (even if it's a lockbox ship).
Interior overhaul (especially the federation and klingon floors, and by far the *worst* looking interior: the D'Kora Marauder)
A avian Species.
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
LoR should to be about rebuilding Romulan Star Empire, liberating Donatra from borg collective ,confronting Sela & madness of Tal Shiar, claiming Vulcan as new romulan homeworld...
- lots of FE series at a much faster pace than before.
- more revamped Federation + KDF Missions to bring them to the same level of quality as Romulans. (slowly over time, but persistent progress please, 1 revamped mission per month maybe.)
- ICONIANS... 3 years of teasing and not one step closer to knowing what the hell is going on in this game.
- Elite versions of all PvE queues that are more than the STF snooze maps. (seriously, the only challening ones are Into the Hive and No Win, everything else is too damn easy).
- Difficulty Mode: INSANE = one above Elite
- visual revamp of ALL ability FX to make it look STAR TREK and not HELLO KITTY anymore. (all those random rings and glows and neon signs are so BLEH).
other than that i'm happy with the continued progression of the game.
PvP and DOff System expansions somewhere in the next seasons wouldn't hurt either.
Crafting can just be shoehorned into DOffing no need for more than that. It is not like there would be many things in STO that are worth crafting to begin with.
oh and bug fixes, bug fixes, bug fixes, bug fixes and more bug fixes
First priority has to be bug fixes, and not the couple weeks until they start the next season usual go, they need to fix the stuff thats been left to rot and die for months and months.. years.
After that though?
I'm torn between better PvP, exploration, crafting, interiors and end game.
The end game is stale, there is so little challenging content it is mind blowing, 4 elite STF sets and thats pretty much it, other than NWS. People are bored in the game, Romulans aren't going to fix that for long. There needs to be a reason to keep playing end game missions, there isn't now. Normal difficult is just too easy. I think this needs to be high up on the list.
Crafting has been smashed to bits, it needs a complete overhaul. I imagine this is going to be in S9, its a big project. I'd like to see interiors combined into a crafting system. Make crafting useful so we can build stuff we want.
PvP, other than balancing shouldn't be a big thing to upgrade, not sure why it needs a whole season dedicated. Why not start on it slowly and add in some diversity. New maps aren't a big deal.
Exploration never really died because it was never alive, so it is probably on the to be put off to S10 list. It is too much to do a crafting and exploration overhaul, and crafting could be more benefical.
While I like featured episodes, time invested vs. content produced is terribly poor. They need to finish off the stories, one series per season should be achievable.
If S9 can be as large as S8, then I'd expect a new end game system, crafting overhaul and a new FE series at the minimum. Pretty sure PvP will work its way in there if crafting isn't as eloborate as I hope for.
Several things, many of them focused around one goal; making your ship feel like part of your story. Yes yes, that's difficult when the game dispenses ships like a broken vending machine, but it's not impossible.
1. Interior revamp. This is a necessary first step in order to make your starship an attractive and interesting place to visit. First, a refinement-pass needs to be made on the existing bridges and interiors, to bring them into scale with the newer and better c-store interior packs - the default interior should only be slightly larger than the Belfast corridors and rooms; the existing tileset can be kept for use as Starbase interiors. The bridges, particularly the bizarrely named Intrepid variants, also need to be rescaled, but also just generally tidied up and bugfixed to stop boffs sinking into floors, or sitting down six feet above the chairs. One change which I would love to see is a different method for getting to the bridge - it's patently absurd for the captain to "beam in" to their own bridge, particularly if the transition is from a space map where you were presumably already on the bridge; perhaps a "mini cutscene"? A special loading screen for the transition between bridge and space which consists of an image of the captain's terminal screen in the ready room, followed by the camera pulling back from that terminal screen to show the captain sitting at his desk - when you want to transition back, you sit back down in the chair and activate the screen again, the camera zooms in on the screen and begins the load sequence.
2. Interior customisation. Once the interiors have been brought up to spec, the next step is to make them customisable by the player - ideally the groundwork necessary for this would be laid down during step one. Aside from just selecting the bridge/corridor theme and plonking down a couple of trophies, the player should be able to select a custom uniform for their crew which ALL the NPCs will wear, and this system should provide enough customisation for the player to, at the very least, also select the division colours(for example, I favour the TNG Movie/late-DS9 choice to have all the Sciences in teal, while some might prefer teal only for Medical and the rest in blue, or even all in blue). Further to that, each position on each bridge should be defined(Conn, Ops, Tactical, Mission Ops 1 & 2, Science etc etc), and player should be able to choose which boffs should occupy which position - it's so tiresome to go aboard my bridge and see the terminals manned by my fully-armoured Tactical away-team, with none of my actual Bridge Officers in sight. A functional shuttlebay with the ability to select up to three(depending on the size of the bay) small craft of any type available to the faction, in any combination - so for example on an Armitage you could have two Peregrine fighters and a shuttle, on a smaller ship you might just have a pair of shuttles, on the Vesta you would have a runabout, and so on. EDIT: As in how many shuttles and what types would be displayed in the bay, functionally it should just be a way to switch to your small craft.
3. Story content set aboard your own ship. Individual missions, even a whole FE series, all based around your own ship and crew. Episodes like "Parallels", "Lower Decks", Eye of the Beholder", and "Shattered" were some of the most interesting, because they involved the viewer in the world, rather than just spewing technobabble at them capped off with a couple of minutes of pew-pew. Macroviral infestations, shapeshifter infiltrations, temporal anomalies, technical malfunctions, unexplained phenomena, gaseous lifeforms, mysteriously dead crewmen; there are dozens-if-not-hundreds of hooks for ship-based stories, and just like with TV production, being able to reuse existing "sets" and assets means such missions will either take less time and money to produce, or leave additional time and money to really jazz up with interesting new game mechanics.
More generally:
4. I wish Cryptic/PWE would really commit to the 2409 aesthetic. With the advent of the Type-6 Material, the Odyssey-era ship refits, and the Odyssey uniform, they finally have a coherent theme for the Starfleet of this era, IMO a match for any other era of Trek design. So use it. Do a pass on the basic random/placed NPC spawns and put them in division-appropriate Odyssey uniforms(ideally with a return to mustard-yellow for Security officers - having them use red makes that colour too dominant). Give the Fleets a more ostentatious version of the Odyssey outfit, and make the basic one the default for new players. Put an Odyssey Variants pack in the c-store with an Odyssey Dress Uniform, a version of the uniform with a short labcoat over the top(ala Crusher), a version with an Engineer Jacket over the top(ala Torres), an Admiral variation on the Dress Uniform, etc etc. Give the same treatment to space NPCs; almost all the NPC ships of the main factions should be of the latest designs; Ventures rather than Galaxies, Sao Paolos rather than Defiants, Thunderchilds rather than Akiras - obviously there would be some exceptions, not every ship would have had its refit yet, some would have been pulled out of mothballs due to the war and so on, but as it stands it's pretty difficult to tell that we're not playing a TNG-era game. Not to mention that it would essentially turn the game's NPCs into a continual c-store advert - appeal often grows with familiarity, expose players to the 2409 aesthetic constantly, and you might find even some of the "haters" forking over their zen.
Some players enjoy having their own little private recreation of their favourite Trek show, and that's fine, different strokes and all that, but with the advent of JJ-Trek, this game carries the last banner for the Prime universe; you could choose to squander that opportunity by creating endless nostalgia trips that result in an incoherent mishmash, or you can be the new Star Trek. I hope that the LoR expansion is a sign that you find the latter more appealing.
5. Exploration revamp. There's not much I can add to this, there are so many good ideas floating around on the forums on this subject, you only have to look for them.
6. PvP revamp. Another topic I'll steer clear of, mainly because I don't find PvP that appealing most of the time, but it is necessary - they may be a vocal minority, but it's better they be loudly commenting on how awesome the game's PvP is than loudly badmouthing the game on every forum they can find.
We are PWE. Your forums and game accounts will be added to our own. Your community will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
dont know if anyone said it but maybe level cap increase somehow to be able to add the new missions to actually be able to obtain some ships without buying them.
dont know if anyone said it but maybe level cap increase somehow to be able to add the new missions to actually be able to obtain some ships without buying them.
You can already grind Dilithium and Exchange it for Zen. I haven't used my own money to buy a C-Store ship since the game went FTP.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
More ship variants that are not battlecruisers, we have enough of these now and not enough of the other ship classes at T5
Uniform and equipment options, things like the Klingon Dahar Master coat , mek'leths ect. This wouldn't be hard as the NPCs get to use them just not the players.
More sectors , where are the homeworlds and space of the other KDF races like the Gorn. Its supposed to be an empire. Two sectors does not constitute this.
More social zones, all we have is First City, the Federation has DS9 and SB 39 alpha. The only other place we have is Ganalda station which is too close to Qo'nos and lacks critical things like BO trainers to make it viable. (K7 could use a upgrade to as both of them were the PvP vendor stations back in the day) There are some good suggestions for new zones like Ty'gokor , they could even use the old great hall as a model for it which still exists in the foundry files.
A FE series focusing on the whole reason the KDF and the Federation are at war to begin with - the Undine and the infiltration of the high levels of other species government. It should work for all factions to just make it have a actual KDF perspective for once and not just a copy+paste of the Federation version which makes no sense to the empire.
More end game content - and some STFs that are factional like a Undine based one for the KDF a Ta shiar one for the Romulans and an iconian one for the Federation
Take some money and hire extra QA staff. They're unbelievably weak on that end of things. Nothing else on the table is even remotely close to as urgent a priority.
Also, if we could get out of this design mindset of pumping out more lame story missions that really boil down to "go here, press F" and got into designing some more actual video game content for endgame, that would be good. I think the adventure zones like Nimbus give a template for a more interesting method of telling stories going forward and I hope we see more zones like it in coming seasons, and less linear straight line "read my block o' text" story telling. Nimbus expands the story without being nearly as linear feeling. Much better. They've really got a good template there to use as a base for a new method of in-game story now, so there's no excuse for not using it.

1) More STFs. We need more endgame raids, and I'd like them to be something other than the Borg. Plus, we need some content that provides better marks for the other reputations.
2) More Feature Episodes. With the Romulan expansion, Cryptic shows again that they are very good when they deliver story content, which unfortunately has been too few and far between in the past couple years. Plus, we need to start moving some storylines forward.
3) Interiors. The Federation default ones are just terrible, and the starship interiors are the most "Trek"-y place IMO, since most of the series spent instead them. I want my ship to feel like my ship, and it would probably be easy to monetize assets/functionality, as an incentive for Cyrptic to head that way. I'd love to customize them with a Foundry-esque map.
More ship variants that are not battlecruisers, we have enough of these now and not enough of the other ship classes at T5
Indeed.
I'd like to see them release some more Destroyers (along the stat lines of the Chimera) only it would be nice if we could get more 2-nacelle ships. The ships in the Escort line are all either a) jet fighter looking -or- b) 4-nacelle ships. Howabout some regular looking Starfleet ships for the tactical branch?
Oh, and Science could use some love. The Vesta was a nice start, but they need much more before the Science line becomes viable again.
"You shoot him, I shoot you, I leave both your bodies here and go out for a late night snack.
I'm thinking maybe pancakes." ~ John Casey
For KDF: More ship, more sector, more mission, more costume.... more everything
For Federation: More viable carriers. Having just the cat boat is actually the reason I ended up being KDF (the other is the DoFF missions is better on KDF)
3) Interiors. The Federation Default Ones Are Just Terrible, And The Starship Interiors Are The Most "trek"-y Place Imo, Since Most Of The Series Spent Instead Them. I Want My Ship To Feel Like My Ship, And It Would Probably Be Easy To Monetize Assets/functionality.
Yesss Please
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.
It has been asked for many times, I don't know if it will ever happen but.....
I want the walls removed in sector space, what ever the ship limit per-instance is now.... keep it so rather than say 50 ships per sector block..... keep it as 50 ships for the entire sector space map. It would make space feel huge.

I'd like to see a few devs sent over to work on the CO side of the house for a while. Gods know it needs it...
Being able to set standard uniforms for rest of the crew
More endgame...lots more. For PvE and PvP
Some more KDF love, some new ships would be nice...perhaps something Ferasan.
Female Nausicaan and maybe Lethean as well
A nice RR carrier. (Doesn't have to be a Scimitar)
New bridges for all factions
Science powers returned to Exotic damage
Playable Cardassian faction
More uniforms/costumes for all factions
Fleet versions of the Kar'fi and Guramba (:D)
Bout all I can think of off the top of my head for the moment.

It must be limited somehow - maybe you have to start another char for that.
Just one ship, you are on your own. Voyager-style.
Limited transfer of goods from the Account Bank or not at all till you FINISH the story arc and link up to the main fleet in the Alpha Quadrant.
