So, would not hacking become an exploit?
Ah ha! That explains it! That explains why everyone rage whispers me after matches saying I cheat and hack, but can't tell me how I was doing it when asked.

Because I'm the only one NOT hacking! It's so clear now!

How dare pvpers use effective techniques go gain an advantage over their opponents! No skill! Real PvPers don't study the game to find the combination of abilities, equipment, and techniques to defeat their opponents. You're PVPing wrong because what you do works too well! God damn you all. Why can't you live with HONOR and just coast through life not trying to take any advantages over your competition? Why have you forgotten that the TRUE MEANING OF PVP is LOVE AND KINDNESS (and letting me win with outdated unsophisticated tactics)? It's the palyers' job to balance the game, especially in PvP, and anyone who tries to WIN a PvP match by pushing themselves to the limit of what the game can do is obviously a NOOB.

All of these space PvPers here won't see it, but why do I get the distinct impression that this sarcastic thread is intended to justify your fleet's current tactics in ground PvP? Is this thread in response to players actively beaming out of matches when your fleet shows up with 5 man premades on ground with the predictable 3 tactical officer with 2 science officers?

Maybe it's because people are tired of watching your fleet abuse cloaknades (bugged, see the PvP ground issues thread), stacking three copies of suppressing fire with split beams/omega autocarbines to disable most (if not all) of the enemy players, and using teamspeak to coordinate your three tactical officers to super buff at the same time so that you can one hit kill or severely damage the opposing team from long range with split beam rifles. No other ground PvP fleet uses those tactics, it's not skillful or enjoyable for the other team.

And when the opposing team is full of competent players the match usually turns into a Mexican standoff. Your team ducks behind walls/corners because your tactical officers aren't built to take much damage and the other team won't move in because they know you will attempt to cloaknade them after disabling all of them with stacked suppressing fire. Which causes matches to drag out for an hour or two.

There is a big difference between pushing your skills to the limit and running cheese. What your fleet is doing right now in ground PvP is equivalent of running 3 carriers (Science captains with scramble sensors+doff) and 2 escort carriers (Tactical captains with Dual BO/DEM+doff) in space PvP with everyone running yellowstone runabouts, theta, temporal inversion field, antimatter spread, elite fleet shields, and extend shields. Sure there are ways to beat it with your own full premade team, but most people in the queues without any team would get fed up fairly quickly with such cheap tactics.

It's okay tira let them think stomping unorganized pug teams with these tactics are showing that they are good. Nothing they can do from here on out will take what hammer and fs did to them during their own event away. In fact my theory is that this heavy stasis pistol and omega cloak usage of late is to compensate for their shortcomings against other premades in the q's. I'd even go on to suggest that it's also compensation for real life shortcomings as well. But that's for another forum :P

Wait, the only part out of this whole thing that actually caught my eye was the bit about cloak. This coming from the one who only uses the cloaking + covert powers and the arc, lunge, arc, pounce, arc combo or one shot, whichever you wanna call it, to win? Now, that's skill. lolz.

Now, concerning the rest... when did split beams, ducking behind walls to avoid damage and Regen, using TS to coordinate, creating premades, and using suppressing fire, or even super buffing become horrible?

No other fleet uses these tactics? Where have you been? Every fleet uses these tactics as well as most pugs. Why don't we all just go into the q's with no weapons and just stand in front of each other, not buff or anything and just fist fight? O_o See how stupid that sounds?

This entire comment here makes no sense whatsoever. Yes, I use cloak on one of my characters, but I also use Security Protocols and Fire Team. I don't even have a catain, so how would I use the decloak-pounce-archwave-lunge combo? And as of late I have mainly played with a science officer, which doesn't have cloak. Cloaked plasma grenades are a big problem. Anyone using them knows they are exploiting a bug.

When did I say any of that was a problem. The problem isn't the gear (apart from cloaknade), it's the tactics. Suppressing fire was never meant to be stacked 3 times by 3 rapid fire weapons to cripple an entire team's movement. Their fleet capitalizes on this problem by using a bugged grenade or 3 super buffed tactical officers to wipe out pug teams. This will remain a problem until Cryptic:
    1. Fixes grenades so that they burn ambush on detonation and so that they aren't cloaked by distortion field/ambush
    2. Cryptic removes the ability to stack suppressing fire for a crippling effect.
The last problem (super buffing three tacs with split beams and firing at the same time) there really isn't much cryptic can do. It will simply remain a cheesy way to get kills from long range. And pug team/average pick up game premades in the queues using teamspeak? Oh please, you know as well as I do just how far from the truth that is. The average pug player that is not a regular PvPer usually uses a minigun/blast assault/sniper rifle, doesn't use cover, and doesn't use buffs. And most ground PvPers without ties to three specific fleets aren't on teamspeak.

Look folks no matter what cryptic does something will always be broken and holding great pvp balance back in the dark ages. This game will always be Star tacts online and even with the trait additions and gear coming tacts will still be slightly overpowered on ground and totally overpowered in space. I mean we still have cloak nades all this time. Remember what this game was like when ambush actually stacked with distortion field? And which ground pvp fleet was the primary exploiter of that as well?

You think the said tactic is bad now? Wait till the willpower nerf hits in season 8 the run speed resistance part of willpower is gonna be useless against incoming grenades cloaked or not. The only way to play ground now will be to grab a sniper and stay the f___ away from anything that can hold you.

Since I am ranting I have 2 issues I want addressed.

    1. I was in a shanty other night with 3 tact pugs on my team while I was on my tact. Match was close I wanted to get us ahead so I grabbed the virus. Since the pugs werent doing much of the killing I had to try to run the virus and do all the killing without ambush. We lost the match by 2 points. Thanks bort!

    2. All the willpower resists and dodge values where showing on tribble over a week ago and now they just vanished? Why did you remove such important values after adding them? Also on tribble when you crouch the 50 percent dodge for that was never adding to the dodge value period. Not sure if the cat's proc was either.

Tacs overpowered in space. Ha. That's a good one.

Tact escorts overpowered. And yes I know a good zombie cruiser or carrier pilot can survive a tact alpha but in terms of effectiveness in a team setting yes tacts are overpowered! I know this for a fact since I flew them and some bops for 5 seasons before I quit this game's joke of space pvp. Frankly ground is 2 steps away from being like space though.

Yeah. The new set will remove the cloaker problem completely. Cloaker detection on cats using omega from the other side of the map = win.

Let's just see how many people are "smart" enough to use it. Under maximum science heal resistances you just barely make the minimum energy damage resistance on the omega set (44%). Anyone using a the detector set will be a prime oneshot target. And with the set weapon being a sword they either need to sacrifice ranged weapons, or risk taking a knife to a pulsewave fight. Though I do think the cooldown needs an extra 30 seconds with immunity to cooldown reduction. Anyone using the full set will have +20% dodge (chance to cut all incoming damage in half) and for the first time a ground set bonus has +20% avoidance (chance to miss the target altogether).

Well, since you don't use cats, or so you claim.. I cant seem to remember much about you except you're a noob cloaker who exploits 'broken' mechanics and one shots or uses the KB exploit even if you do it without the last pounce + arc... (which only a sci can really tank), although cryptic claims its 'working as intended'.

And yes, about the TS part, I have been in a pug, saw a friend, jumped in there TS while everyone is loading in and rolled the opposing team.. it happens but TS isn't needed. its called using keybinds to tell who you are targeting or when you're running a certain buff... or is that a hax too? Going back to addressing the premade situation, you so happily downed in your last post, Its not anybody's fault if the pugs don't have friends to run with. My fleet doesn't run ground.. so it was my responsibility to go out and get friends to run with. Its called being sociable and knowing when to ask for help... which any inexperienced player can ask for; anytime someone asks for training, I am always happy to help and I know for a fact almost every experienced player who runs ground or space is willing to give advice on how to improve.

(sigh), Azazel to think we were on the same partial premade team two days ago. I was on my Bajoran Science officer, Salana Jaxa, during that time. That should probably clear up your memory of me. At the very least enough to know that I don't simply use the operative and that I don't use cats. (Interestingly enough your main is a cat and I've seen you use operative in the past. A bit of a double standard don't you think? There's nothing wrong with the operative kit.)

There really isn't much to say here that I haven't already said already. You and I both know the some of the current tactics they are using are extremely cheap. They are the only group I have ever seen use the suppression stack disable followed up with a cloaknade or a long range team oneshot with split beams. Not to mention they will usually sit in one place on the map so that they can ensure that they always have the upper hand. Unless they do have the upper hand to start, in which case they will set up their attack group right next to the other team's spawn after forcing the other team back.

Yeah, I follow one of Thissler's alphastrike methods of BO + HY3 quantums + TB2 and maybe a complimentary doff-boosted VM1. It's usually pretty effective, though the best players can shrug it off regularly.

It's all about timing, and defensive abilities in this game are so strong that you HAVE to coordinate alphastrikes sometimes to kill folks, especially tanking healboats.

the BO is an exploit tactic...you can stack several up right after the other if you know what your doing...cheap tactic imo...sigh

Some people are very good at timing their abilities and they do it perfectly when their targets have the least amount of resists. And they're really good at positioning themselves for the easy kill, even the distance between you and them is a variable (which incidentally affects DPS).

In any case, as long as you learn from your mistakes and improve, you're on the right track. I know I have a long way to go.

i'm sorry to say..but your post is just wrong in soo many ways i can't even begin to start on it...using bad game mechanics and exploits does NOT make you an uber player....just makes you a cheap exploiter of the game...not uber...lol
