4 times in a week, each time you say you've got it sorted and you're taking steps to rectify it.....
I have a word for that but I'll self moderate myself [insert chosen profanity here]. This is seriously damaging Cryptic's reputation and will put customers off especially new ones believing this is the norm. Common subject flying around is this incomprehensible idea why Cryptic decided to lump everything on to 1 server.
Neverwinter and LoR haven't even come out yet and we've got repeated outages so that tells the long term players what to expect, more outages and more of the same epic failures.
Once I can understand, 2 okay but this shows Cryptic's on a fundamentally flawed system and it's only going to get worse. Thank goodness I'm LTS and don't have to worry about whether to subscribe or not.
Once Cryptic compensated players with some minor fluff/trinket but it's become so commonplace now they just don't bother :P.
How does this happen? I pay for this game... I need my head checked. I give money to a bunch of incompetent idiots. I am seriously thinking of canceling and playing pong instead!
So... regardless of the reason for the universe dividing by zero, it is going to be hours before it comes back up I take it... to be all orderly and stuff...
:sighs:
Ok... I signed up right after the 3 hour scheduled maintenance several mornings back. (would have been sooner, but the maintenance started about 20min before I started signing up, not realizing everything was down so nothing was working)
So... I dunno how much uptime the rest of you guys are used to... but from my perspective right now, you guys running the game, are going to have to start doing better than this...
Last time it had something to do with neverwinter, i wouldn't be surprised if it was a repeat. Its got the same crashing of all the games and servers as a few days back.
Have you ever lashed something to the roof of your car and though "nah, that's fine, it'll stay on 'till i get home!" then you keep watching it tensely out of the corner of your eye, nervously glancing in the mirror every few seconds thinking 'stay on, stay on, it'll stay on, right? It'll hold, it'll hold, it'll ho... Well sh*t... It fell off'?
Oh of course you have, you're Cryptic customers, sorry I'm preaching to the choir.

Thanks for taking the time to verify there is a problem.
To all the whiners. Did you ever think it might be something that is beyond their control?
It seems to be a persistent issue and having the server go down for 3-4 hour periods 2-3 times in 2 weeks is unacceptable. How do you think the release of LOR will fare when they can't even get their act together during non-peak times?

Given that this is the 3rd or 4th major outage, all co-incidentally around the time of Neverwinter Open Beta testing and they have now had a good week or so to resolve these continuing issues, then yes, it should be under control.
Having ALL their games tied to a single server system is UNFORGIVABLY STUPID.
Any and every hardware administrator with even an ounce of sense will tell you not to put all your eggs in one basket and to have redundancies where possible. Given the size and scope and money involved in MMO server hardware there are no excuses at all for such slipshod amateur set ups.

Did STO kill my net or did I kill STO
O.k, if this is my bad please not in the face
But, can the cat haz cheeseburger? :P
I already said that a couple of posts back......:D
1) Cryptic are a bunch of pakeld who are trying to make the server "GO"
2) The server is powered by a hamster on his hamster wheel
3) A new shiny on NW means outtages on STO
4) Someone forgot to feed the hamster again now they have to draw straws to see who is going to the pet store to get another one.
Yep no problems at all the server is "Working as intended"
:sighs:
