I'm thinking of starting a KDF character(just hit 24) but I need to know if it's worth it. What makes it worth it you ask? Simple. How many times do I hear this while playing a KDF character https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNTVzwjEyb4
I play it in background when Im not on a TS channel while I play my toon. Mix in some modern klingon bands and some acrutememts makes for a grwat time.
1. Half the amount of leveling
2. BoP and battle cloak
3. Best arc .. Felkhir
4. Tons of dilithium missions
5. Fun PvP
6. Klingon hub is more interesting that fed one
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censored, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
In their current state, they just aren't worth the efford.
Now if you wait untill after May 21'st... That should be interesting, cause then you can start from Level 1, instead of level 18.
You may have been disapointed, but I for one have never regretted lvling my KDF toons. Though I did have to delete my 3 lower lvl ones to make room for future Romulans, but I still have four Kdf toons

I was talking about the "having to do it backwards" thing...
Personally I still find the KDF boring as ... Something I am not allowed to say... but still... That might change if I could do it over with the incoming changes.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
so I did it and i'm having a lot of fun. May not go back to my fed character for a long time. Huzzah!
You're a Klingon Warrior. You say Qapla'! now.

Would I have preferred a full, complete, fleshed out PvE experience as a Klingon? Probably, massively wasted potential there for the stories they could have told. But then again, I take it as an earned badge of honor that my KDF toon was leveled in the way true Klingons ascend...over the shattered hulls of other people's ships.
creating a new KDF toon now would be a wise move. You will hit endgame faster and see how you like the KDF skills and develop cloaking capabilities in advance of the Romulan release. If you need a kdf fleet to join with to assist you, contact House of Puv'taj or any online Ninth Fleet members who will help you out.

At the risk of angering my Klingon brothers and sisters, I would recommend going with a Reman allied to the KDF. You will enjoy the same lore and cool missions as them and you get the added benefit of flying the rommie ships. It's also cool to think of the strong alliance that could develop between the Klings and Reams given that both are a strong and honorable warrior people.
Do Feddies get to descend into the depths of Hell and fight demons and ghost warriors? No, they do not, such a badass adventure is reserved for the KDF only.
Ah yes, fighting demons. Let me note for the record that the toon in the avatar image (over there <-- ) running those missions with a scantily dressed Orion felt right at home! I got some great screen shots.
I've wanted to run a Gorn for a long time, pretty much been waiting until they rolled out the ability to start KDF at level 1.
Now's my chance.

You will not be disappointed. Gorn lay waste to everything in hand-to-hand combat and they look absolutely awesome in the helmetless version of the KHG armor.
I have and it was delicious. I have to say, granted I have barely started the new KDF content (I have been waiting to start a Klingon from level 1, which I can now do) but what I have started is really quite good. Legacy of Romulus seems to finally have all that cryptic has been promising to deliver for some time now. and I am really enjoying it.
I wish we could have the TMP klingon music as like the standard KDF music, then switch to a heavier version when you enter combat. Would so make me play KDF more! I think all the factions should have their own exploration and combat music
