    >>> assignment of Department Heads is not available with Romulan starting Boffs

    Or any Romulan Boffs.

Things definitly get kind of strange after you are allied. On the KDF side, I got access to the KDF tutorials, and I was suddenly refered to as a Klingon in all cases. On a side note, it is a bummer I can't put all my BO's in my Rom/KDF uniforms. (And btw, why are there such uniforms? From a story p.o.v. I mean.)

    "Tradecraft" feedback:

    3) The dialogue said there would be a Starfleet ships coming to the rescue in the final space battle but it looked like it was all Romulans.

they say that the Feds are "decloaking". Feds dont use cloaks. And it was Republic ships.

I also noticed that my warp trails out of the Donatu system were blue, I'm flying a Rommie ship not a fed one, again this has to change

Youre just a Fed now. Accept it. We arent a real faction.

For a mission called "Smash and Grab", attacking a ship convoy that turns out to be full of weapons and equipment, there's a whole lot of smashing and grabbing that doesn't happen.

This would be an ideal point to throw out the entire range of basic level-appropriate gear in crates, to make sure the player and their officers are using decent stuff.

During the section "RSVP" of "Tradecraft", when I first arrive into the system the music being played is a tense, lurky piece. And then when I fly into range of the listening post, the music immediately does the small fanfare for mission success. Kind of kills the mood.

Final battle of Tradecraft... Damn that's a lot of ships! But the big bad boss died basically as collateral damage in the massive opening exchange. Kind of anti-climactic. I think you'd get more storytelling bang for your buck if you made the fight somewhat smaller (why would the Tal Shiar bring more than 4 or 5 ships, one of them a D'deridex, to apprehend 2 criminals?) but then made the boss significantly tougher so that your little fleet had to actually pound on it for a bit.

Yeah. A plasma DC and DHC would be much more appropriate for the warbird you have at that level.

personally I didn't mind getting kdf disruptor weapons for my ship. they are more romulan like. I would have been pretty put off by getting phaser weps tho. didn't like getting kdf ground weapons.

I did not like getting an orion boff either. it just didn't feel right. personally I thought while playing that i'd recruit a suliban boff. or have 1 as an option from that cool mission. if I was too have a non romulan/reman boff I felt that would have been better. no ties to the other factions and very close to romulan territory. well just an idea.

All in all a good story arc with few bugs, and I enjoyed it! Here are my notes from the
    first play-through :)

    Stepping In

The mission itself went smoothly, but I noticed a few spelling errors in ops messages. The bridge officer talking after warping into the Donatu system says "Also the gases in the debris field will cause some fluxuations in our shields, to compisate while inside we won't be able to go to full impulse." This should be corrected to "fluctuations" and "compensate" - and perhaps rework that sentence a bit since it sounds rather wonky. The tactical officer also says "fluxuations" in the tactical report. In the last ops message, my bridge officer says "We've stop thier salavaging operations sir, we need to report what we've seen here" - definitely needs to be cleaned up!

    The Price of Neutrality

At the beam-in point in the colony there are a bunch of colonists just wandering aimlessly around in the snow, maybe give them something to do/let them talk to each other etc? Also, since Lotrix beams out while behind my character, it is easy to miss that he says something and then disappears.

Nice trick to have us use a bridge officer to block the camera! One of the Hirogen outside the warehouse says "This colony belongs to the Federation!" - why would he say that?

When Lotrix died, he and his guards turned a glowing, transparent pink - he was lying down while the guards were standing. When I talked to him, he suddenly got up and ran several meters away before he laid down again. When I chose to transport him to sickbay, he became normal-coloured and solid again.

Captain Harvson, while hailing me after the battle, says "I might just take some the credit for myself!". Afterwards, when talking to Tovan about Charva, his background changes from the bridge to simple black. His name is also given as that of my science officer.

    Memory Lane

What, we are suddenly hailing Charva now? In the previous mission it seemed we were going to wait for her to make a move or something.

Interesting to fight a Romulan captain allied with the other faction, although it does make it feel more like I am a Romulan in Starfleet, rather than in the Romulan Republic. In this particular mission I can understand it though - we were acting in secret on a not-to-trustworthy tip, because we are suspicious of the Republic. But I would like to avoid this kind of situation.

    Smash and Grab

The transport escort groups are perhaps a bit too close to each other - I aggroed both groups at once and it made for a more interesting fight than I think was intended.

    Tradecraft

Nice with a mission that utilizes the ship interior, but you need to add info on how to enter your ship - I do not believe that a new player knows how to do this at this point?

I chose the wrong option on the first discrepancy in the Virinat file (crates with weapons, supposed to be changed to ship parts, but I chose medical supplies) - when I corrected this, the two other discrepancies were also automatically changed to the right wording. The Kinkuthanza file also automatically changed two wordings. I do not know if this is intended or not? Typo: When Commander Tal'Mera provides context for the Virinat file, she says "retailiate" instead of "retaliate".

When using the "plot a course to.."-button to go the Azha system, it took me back to Drozana.
The images on the viewscreen (?) in the listening post look very static. During the last cutscene, Thovan says "..we couldn't to convince her.."

I had that same problem too. Not sure when the lead ship when down, but it was pretty fast.

Honestly, I don't know that you need to alter the battle (I love the epicness of it), but maybe make it a two parter. Where the fleets fight it out, and then after the main Tal Shiar fleet is destroyed the Lead ship enters the fray and you have to battle it.
resting fight than I think was intended.

I could be remembering this wrong, but I do not believe this was the first time we did the ship interior. I seem to remember needing to be in my ready room at least once before.

I would also like to note, In Tradecraft I found a small graphical error. When Charva is in the brig, it seems like a piece of uniform is floating in the air next to her. Looks kind of like a piece of a cape piece. which is kind of odd since Charva doesn't wear a cape.

Good missions, a bit easy, and really too easy when there are allied npcs, since they can handle it without your help. That's what I tried to figure out, you can sit and do nothing, the allies will complete the task for you. Very frustrating.

I can easily imagine a player reading Haverson telling him he's a great fighter even if he has been blown up 3-4 times. I'd be quite frustrated if I were this player. You see the NPCs playing the mission for you and then congratulating you.

I remember having a lot of fun during the first federation episodes, they were really more difficult, I had to respawn a couple of times per episode since i was a beginner but it felt really more rewarding. Here there are only basic NPCs you can headshot with your lvl 1 free weapons all along the arc. I miss the boss fights and mini boss fights.

Lots of spelling and grammatical errors, too many to note here. A little proof read should sort those out!

I chuckled a little when K'Men wouldn't let me in on his planes! (sic), in "An Inside Job"

Gameplay is quite smooth, but I find it a little hard to follow that in the cutscenes the Boff Dialogue is written at the bottom in big letters, but my character responses are written in a speech bubble over my head. I'm used to my dialogue being at the bottom, this was particularly annoying in "Trade Craft"

For some reason, there was no music on Drozana Station, which made it more creepy. You'd think they would play music in a bar no?

Like the other story arcs, I liked this one a lot. My complaints are, again, too many typos. Whoever is responsible for spell checking, needs to recheck the text in the story arcs. It's distracting during the missions.

The lighting in the Romulan Flotilla is TOO DARK. I had a hard time seeing where I was going, and seeing consoles and pillars and such. I'd recommend increasing the lighting on the Flotilla considerably.

I would've liked to have more interactions between the different delegates of the Federation and the Klingons, before making a decision on which side to ally with. Subcommander Nadel even tells you to ask questions of each rep before making a decision, but there were no questions to ask.

Also, I'd like the Federation delegate to be of a recognizable race, instead of a random alien generated one. In fact, a Vulcan representative of the Federation would be even more compelling, seeing as how D'Tan and the Romulan Republic want to work towards reunification at some point.

Otherwise, this story arc blends in nicely with the other two. There is no break in the transition from the first story arc, to this one, to the next one. Superbly done.

I don't believe the ship interior rewards for "Memory Lane" are active. The village painting is already in your ready room from the beginning, and I don't see the helmet anywhere.

Also there are no options to place things like trophies in the Ready Room or Lounge (or anywhere else)

Found a bit of a typo in Stepping In and some issues in other missions in this arc so far. (Tradecraft in progress.)

    Stepping In:
"We've stop their salvaging operations sir, we need to report what we've seen here."
I think that should be stopped.

    Smash & Grab:
Throughout this mission I kept saying to myself that my character was an idiot for believing Charva so easily, especially after getting false intel from her in the previous mission.

If the Romulan Republic are supposed to be good guys, then attacking an unknown convoy (that didn't match the intel) without even an attempt at communications just didn't feel right. (In my case I decided, instead of attacking by ambush, I decloaked and let the Cardassians make the first move. AKA I didn't fire first. But in the end it still feels more like an act of piracy then anything else. Had I the option, I would have tried a more diplomatic solution at first, though I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work since those ships apparently were True Way ships.)

In Tradecraft I found the following issue:
"There is no evidence showing that D'Tan was collecting information regarding [Enemy Faction]'s Water Reclaimation."

I think I also got an extra dialog box after closing the one above that said Federation instead of Enemy Faction. (In my case the Klingons are the enemy faction, which showed up properly on other dialog boxes.)

Also, I'm sure this has been mentioned, but the rewards do not appear to scale to your level. Also the Memory Lane helmet/painting seem to have issues, as previously mentioned.

Overall, the missions so far have been interesting, but I'm not totally satisfied how quickly things escalated to violence in Memory lane without the other teams giving me a chance to explain myself. (Of course, I know this is an MMO and thus combat is the basis of the game.) Smash & Grab was the mission that I disliked the most so far, especially since in this instance I picked the Federation to ally with.

-An unknown Bolian female in starfleet uniform face was shown during the text desscibing the contents of the fourth cargo hold on the first transport.
-I was able to beam to the bridge of the second transport without activating the first transport's self-destruct.
-An unknown Bolian female in starfleet uniform was shown for the display asking whether I wished to change between each transport ship.

When Decrypted the files everything felt like guessing.my I suggest that the files you review so just dispair from the list.

really liked this arc...however the Xp reward for completing Tradecraft needs to be high enough to get the character to lvl 16 to continue the next mission.as it was, just doing the story mission i came up 1k xp short of lvl 16...and doing patrols or the low rewarding exploration missions sucks..especially when having patrols to do later on is beneficial. As this is fed side.

I would also go so far to say that DSEs ships need their xp rates raised as well...particularly the gorn/klink/orion ones 1-15 xp per ship is not that great.

If the doffs were given at lvl 11 like when the doffing is unlocked it would be less of a mess, instead of this random lvl between 11 and 20 business.

Memory Lane doesn't really seem to make any sense. The plot feels rather jarring compared to how brilliant and fluid the missions were to this point. Everyone running round thinking the colonies were terrorists seems to come out of nowhere. Its like the rom massacre fed mission, it just doesn't seem to fit. I don't understand why the Federation so easily decide to listen to 'sources' after months of long diplomatic processes

It was a Klingon massacre for me. Agreed, Memory Lane needs a bit more editing. The ending just feels very wrong, you murder a bunch of people, then just because you've spared his life, the Romulan captain believes you that you're not a terrorist? Come on.

Also, there's an extraneous apostrophe. "Its," not "it's".

Not sure if this is the right thread to post. That being said The Price of neutrality episode. at the end when you are going thru a complicated talk with the tal shiar. at least for me, while still getting thru the dialogs I was getting attacked by that final ship. would have been nice if it only appeared after I was done talking to them or something, made me feel like I had to rush the dialogs which were very interesting :) just a suggestion.

I think when you first choose your ally there is a big in your face moment about that choice for a bit, it a tad overwhelming, and it feels like you are going to become a "fed" for a while until you get over to Eta Eridani.

You get introduced to a Fed Captain that you have a mission with, are given a bunch of Mark IV Rares in Phaser flavor, you are given a Fed BOFF, and when you go to get your ship you open the panel and all you see are Fed ships. It really creates a feel for a while that you are more a Fed than a Romulan.

I'd suggest that you need to visit your allies home base to be able to buy their ships/gear, that you not offer directly a allied BOFF at all, if we want them we can go get them, and that the tech offered be more generic, like shields, armor, consoles.

Also, if the freighter rescue mission could be made to look a bit less like the Shmar mission, that might be awesome. Different backdrop and/or music probably would do a world of difference.

    Awesome work guys.

I have to agree with this, rather than feeling like an ally it felt like I just joined Starfleet. I would suggest keeping it more Romulan centric here while clearly indicating that you can acquire additional items at Earth Spacedock, perhaps even making a mini mission to go there to acquire Starfleet related gear/ships while keeping the Romulan Flotilla strictly Romulan-centric.

Just wanted to add, other than this, I've found the missions, the story, the characters, the environment, basically everything, to be phenomenal. Even then, it was a bad mission, just seemed to stick out as an arbitrary way to highlight the whole fedrom/ kdfrom thing in a story perspective.

The story does fit because it a poly to go back and get the items and to remember the last thing you did before becoming captian and it also because it was a report that needs to be verified in order to see the truth later. I thought it made sence and was well done.
Also i did as both sides and saw the ally swap to which you did not have. And could seen the cave again because that could gotten the clearer message

I have played "The Price of Neutrality" again with the second character I made and afterwards again on lvl.27

I have to say that the Hirogen are way to OP in this mission.
In space the Escorts use Subnucleonic beam 2 and Viral Matrix in conjunction which pretty means an overkill in CC for the player. Hell, I couldn't even last one group properly. In wave 3 there are 3 Escorts! This is just ridiculous, not even the Borg cube in the later mission is that difficult.
Take away their Sub nuc. and VM skills please. This ain't fun in the rel. begininng of a player with crappy equip!

On Ground it also got funny. Due itemization and equip advancement, the Hirogen Trackers permanently used their Kirk-Kicks and one shotted me several times. Lorix, the Reman, used his Shadow Guard projections and his insane Telekinesis jump + Force Field Dome to insta kill me several times too.

Seriously, this mission needs adjustments. I wouldn't say anything if this mission was in later gameplay, but for the beginning and the TRIBBLE items/equipment a player has the enemies are way too overpowered.

Being "stuck" by the KDF / Nausicaan Ally bug in "Neutral No More", I went into the journal to see if I could "skip" to get into the Allies arc - and found out that I need to be level 12 to start the arc but if I wanted to skip the 2 L12 missions I could hit the third as a L10 and the fourth as an L11.

Not sure if this is a testing thing - if so, I'd drop the intro to the arc to 10 as well, or if this is a "glitch" in the level assignments and these missions need a L13 to break into...

Looks like I might pop a patrol or two to get my DOffs and let them carry me up to 12... :P
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

    Bigger Picture

This mission is uncompletable at this time. Obviously it has been moved from its original slot so it needs adjusting. When you get to the mission location there is no freighter to rescue.

    Stepping In
In the briefing the text reads "Loyalties and alliegance is already shakey". This should read "Loyalties and allegiances are shaky".

When questioned about the shipyard, the Cardassian Station Commander says "We will be filing a formal protests" instead of "We will be filing a formal protest".

At the end of the mission Tovan Khev says "We've stop their salvaging operations" instead of "We've stopped their salvaging operations".

    Level 15 new boff.
At level 15 you are awarded a new boff. However no face appears in the dialog screen when you hail New Romulus to collect your boff.

    Revelation
    Hobus Assault
Satra's dialog box states "These facilities are dedicated to studying an alien race and there technology". This should read "..and their technologies".
In case no one can hear you...scream

Missions are good. However, there are some problems :
-As a KDF Romulan, I can't get past the "Neutral no more "mission, as the Nausicaan we are supposed to kill are allies.
-I can't add Romulan/Reman BOFF as department heads in the DOFF pannel. Only my fed/KDF BOFF can.
-The mission Tradecraft need to be checked. I can decrypt the files before being given the order to go meet a contact on Drozana. However, nothing in the files help me to decrypt the Tal Shiar files. The contact have some dialogues with hint for it, but since it came later, it feel like it's not in the right order.
-As a KDF romulan, I was given the mission "Manhunt", which seems to be part of a Klingon storyline, right after joining the KDF.

Don't know if people noticed it, but the more you progress into the storyline, the more items you have in your ready room. Like the picture from Viriniat. I find it awesome.

I thought the environments in Smash and Grab were excellent, the smoke and fire and stuff was cool.

In Hidden Agendas I think the Flashlight needs to be made a bit wider/brighter so you can illuminate a larger area.

I felt like during these missions there was too much back-and-forth between sector blocks. Flotilla to Drozana to wherever back to Drozana etc, etc. (I picked KDF, dunno if it's different for FED).
