While I haven't been disconnected yet, the lag is making the game unenjoyable. I can't STF, and even solo missions are virtually impossible, as the lag is getting me killed.
On the other hand, please calm down a bit, people. Problems happen, and this may not be Cryptic's fault at all. I understand from talking to my fleet that some people are having issues and not others, which seems to me to point to more of an issue between us and the servers.
Hello all, I'd post a new thread but apparently I'm too new to do so.
I just started playing STO yesterday, and have been pleasantly surprised by it. Yes, I am currently a F2P'er.
Tonight when I logged in I came across two problems, one very large one, and another minor one. The large problem is that most everything is unresponsive. I log into the Sirius sector and can't move at all, I can turn, but that's it. I can't pst anyone, say anything in chat, just turn. I tried transwarping but that did nothing but activate the 15m cd.
So I figured maybe I had somehow made some irrevocable error when I last logged out. I decided to just start a new character. This is the minor problem number two. I was under the impression that a F2P account had two character slots available. I only created one character and tried to create a second character only to be told I had to purchase two additional slots. I thought fine, whatever, and deleted my original character (hadn't spent much time playing it and thought it could "fix" the situation). With the first character gone I could now create a new character. Unfortunately when I get to the traits menu all of the traits have "Null Message" for their text, they are unselectable and as such I am unable to create a character, or play at all for that matter.
I've tried to search the forums/online for anything going on with the servers and can't find anything, or anyone else having a similar problem around today's date. Any help would be greatly appreciated. For the short amount of time I've played its been fun, and I could see myself spending a bit of money here and there, but really that'll only happen if I can actually play.

There appears to be two issues here in the results...
The first is the connection just before the Cogent Communication gateway in your local ISP, (and you will have to contact your local ISP to get this addressed...)
The second is with the Boston Cogent Communication Hub connecting the STO Server Network, a issue that Cryptic/PWE has been dealing with since last December...

I would suggest you do a ''Force verify'' in your launcher. Seems your game are corrupted as ****.
1. Open launcher and find ''Options'' in top right corner.
2. Mark ''Force verify''
3. Log in
4. Let it verify your files. (Does take some time)
If it doesn't come up with any changes, I would suggest a complete reinstall.

Sorry grouchyotaku, didn't see you already answered that
I cant even log in today. "Unable to establish connection to Patch server"
Nettest timed out too, tracert on patchserver spits out 1 to 3 rows and thats it.
Would be good to look at it.
How ever. You should know that row 1-3 belongs to you and your ISP. So if your connection fails that early, Cryptic can't do anything for you.
You could try and reboot your modem since 9 out of 10 that would solve it. Otherwise you should call your ISP.

Well the last time this happened to me, even rebooting modem didnt help and I couldnt log into game for about a day. Then it started to work as before.
Today it didnt take that long, I think that it wasnt for more than an hour, then it was okay.
This happening sometimes is still better than the daliy lagging I used to experience about a month ago.
ETA - Thanks on the info about the first rows belonging to ISP, didnt know that.

Absolutely ridiculous, Cryptic. I expect you'll fix this before the Romulan expansion goes live... unless you want bad reviews?

I recall the same being said by CO players back in the day
