Getting first place to get the accolade...........quite the daunting task when you got like 8 others in escorts doing the same thing.
I really wish the Devs changed it that you get the accolade after doing it, 10 or 20 times. Because inspite what Branflakes said (quoting Bort), this is definitely a DPS race.
Also, there is a major problem with the queues booting people in the middle of their events. Got booted once from SB Incursion (at the end) and halfway through one CE run (and wouldn't let me back in or leave the queues). :mad:
Every 20 hours I think. I'll check today. In case its every 20, I'll need to write the times when I started down so I can optimalise what time do I play it.
Thanks for the grind Cryptic. Its a 5-15 minutes for 14 days grind that gives a nice reward. I was afraid it would be a long grind like an hour long mission, but luckily its an STF lenght one.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.
This was much easier, too easy really. Not much of a challenge. It also occurred too quickly. I hope the difficulty will be increased. As of now it is a very easy mission to grind.
One thing looks to be certain. If an Elite version does come out, Cruisers will finally have an event where they can be important again. Flew my Galaxy-R in the first run through the normal event, and was quite busy with healing and Extend Shields (though its a pity you don't get credit towards the accolade for abilities which prevent damage as well as heals). Unfortunately, Escorts are so tough now that they can take a blast from the CE and not go down if they are not being helped and can heal themselves quite well, making Cruisers still feel like second-class citizens of the game.
Hoping the Elite version is sufficiently upgraded that the Escorts need the help of Cruisers to survive.
A superlative change, sirs. With just two minor flaws. One, it's restricted to end game characters. And two, it's restricted to end game characters. Now I realise that technically speaking that's only one flaw but I thought that it was such a big one that it was worth mentioning twice.

Yes, I'm wondering how you know whether a run will grant a shard or not - there does not appear to be any indication if you will before you start. (You can run it back to back.)

there is plenty of questions i have since the release of the event, but i want to wait until the event is over before getting some answers really. lots to do and little time to get them done.

another Escort heavy slugfest. The top 3 out of 10 people get the good rewards. How lame. Just shows who you favor in this game. Fed Escorts. Nuf said.

Engie-cruiser
Sci-Carrier
Though all as KDF and engie required 4 tries in total.
But I agree that it is still the easiest in a tac scort to pull off with a little watching what happens and applying buffs/debuffs at the right time.
Sidenote:
It seems that the Tholians here have gotten strong shields in the Cystalline Catastrophe event.

but each time i do this i keep getting crumby Mk X uncommon gear as the final reward.....
during mission drops ok, but for the final completion reward, how about something better pls?
even rare Mk XI or very rare Mk X so its worth a bit more to my replicator
other than that, i like the reworked event, just wish ppl would STOP firing when its in absorption mode

Yeah, in one run I did today I was struggling just to keep my ship on the right heading.
Might be like the Winter event. Huge numbers of players means massive load. I'v enever had to wait long for the queue to start, so there must be a lot of people doing it.

After this event, the majority of people won't be bothering with the CE again for a very long time.
BTW, finally got first place.........on a mule character ......... in a baddly equipped ship.
Oh the irony. Can have the best geared ship in the game and pull your hair trying to get first, but never place. But here comes Gomer in the jalopy and gets first without even trying. :rolleyes:
It's a confused jumble of targets, and really pretty boring since you can't really fail. (at least as far as i can tell).
You can Actually "fail" - I found my self yesterday in an instance in which the group was able to drop the crystal to 30% (-/+) and it stuck there...
After about 30 min. ppl started to give up, and before I knew it, here I was, all alone (in the night) against the crystal and his tholian cronies...
On another matter - is the a time-counter somewhere that can show me how much time I have left until I can do the CC again to get a crystal shard, or do I just have to guess, based on the time and date I did it the last time and got a shard?

I've noticed drops in the stfs ain't that hot either.
They may as well given some energy credits.
But at least this isn't only a 14 day event where in that if you miss a day you are SOL.

Is reset 20 hours or after midnight to be rewarded a shard? I can't remember what time I did it yesterday (could be close to 20!)
Yes. I got second and third places a few times and got nothing. I only got the accolade when I got first.
