This is a waste of time. I've had better connectivity trying to play World of ******** on dial-up then I've had trying to plat Star Trek Online with broadband. I know this is a free-to-play game, and you get what you pay for, but this is ridiculous.

I am in the UK, on BT broadband. Since I moved 3 weeks ago my lag has become huge. Not just for me, have a friend who is visiting and also plays STO, same problem. Ping times are around 1000 for some things, although my ping time to BT is around 160

When you're seeing this big a lag the moment you start hitting Internet addresses (as 192.168.1.X are private network address...) this means there's an issue with your router/gateway/modem... If a cold power cycle (turn off for at least a minute..) or a reset button doesn't help the problem, then you should contact your ISP and have someone take at look at the unit...

You mean there's nothing wrong with your latency... The 'Trace Route' diagnostics does nothing to show what the throughput is, if packets are being dropped, or if the the network ports are available. The 'Net Test' diagnostics provides data on these topics...
I haven't experienced any lag while playing this morning, so most likely you have something related to a connection issue of some kind...
So for the last week or so since coming back to the game I have been having enormous issues with rubberbanding and so on. I am from the UK using Virgin Media service, 120mb connection, all speeds show normal, all pings show normal.

I don't know if it was the maintenance yesterday or something else but server stability was actually good for once.
Changing zones and using the "/netgraph 1" in game always showed 4000-6000ms latency. It now peaks at a max of 600ms. So maps are loading significantly faster. Normal gameplay is 120-200ms.
Also I've actually timed out twice today. Went out for lunch etc and the game logged me out due to no activity for 60 minutes. It's been quite a while since I've seen this message.
Traceroute usually showed bos1 and especially bos6 as having the highest latency with bos6 at times exceeding 300ms. It's now at 110-130ms for each. This is another 1st.
So I don't know if it's the maintenance or the people at cogentco that resolved the issues I was having.
Man it's nice to not get DCed at all for a whole day. I sure hope it stays this way. :P
I have started getting lag since the last server downtime and I'm also being disconnected regularly. And before blame is assigned to my end, no other online game lags, just this.

I am a newcomer to this game and I want to play it. However, this horrible rubberbanding has made impossible for me to do anything. I am able to used whisper chat and I can also see the world around me move about. But I cannot interact with anything. Whenever I move, the rubberbanding sends me back to where I started. Friends in-game report to me that they cannot see my character, while I can see them.

Game ran fine till about a week ago, now I get lag/fps drops anytime more than a handful of ships are around. SB24 can drop me to 1FPS, PVP is fine until the spam starts and hanging out outside of ESD varies between 90-12fps.

I've recently restarted playing STO (30 minutes ago) and since last time I logged in the latency situation has completely changed. I simply cannot do anything in game. I haven't had issues anywhere near these before and have not changed router/ISP for a few years now.
ISP is Romtelecom from Romania. nettest values are around 10% of the "GOOD" ones here in the thread or "timed out", no 0 values.
The way this looks is like massive packet loss between some hops.

a 6/10 of a second delay the moment the packets leaves your house??? 8/10 of a second delay the moment the packet actually hits the Internet?
This indicates a issue with your router/gateway. If a reset of the device doesn't improve the problem, then you should have someone from your ISP take a look at it...

New Romulus always lags for me. If it's not rubber banding, it's just jerky motion. Same with ESD and honestly, most ground instances are just getting out of hand with stuttering animation. This will happen even while standing in one spot and just rotating the camera. I have a 16 core Intel Xeon E5520 @ 2.39 GHz Mac Pro running Windows 7 64-Bit under BootCamp with 16 GB of RAM and an ATi Radeon HD 4800. ISP is AT&T U-Verse. Test results as follows:

Changing zones and using the "/netgraph 1" in game always showed 4000-6000ms latency. It now peaks at a max of 600ms. So maps are loading significantly faster. Normal gameplay is 120-200ms.
Also I've actually timed out twice today. Went out for lunch etc and the game logged me out due to no activity for 60 minutes. It's been quite a while since I've seen this message.
Traceroute usually showed bos1 and especially bos6 as having the highest latency with bos6 at times exceeding 300ms. It's now at 110-130ms for each. This is another 1st.
So I don't know if it's the maintenance or the people at cogentco that resolved the issues I was having.
Man it's nice to not get DCed at all for a whole day. I sure hope it stays this way. :P

I've recently restarted playing STO (30 minutes ago) and since last time I logged in the latency situation has completely changed. I simply cannot do anything in game. I haven't had issues anywhere near these before and have not changed router/ISP for a few years now.
ISP is Romtelecom from Romania. nettest values are around 10% of the "GOOD" ones here in the thread or "timed out", no 0 values.
