Will the new Romulan faction be an extension of the Romulans in New Romulus or will they be a separate group of Romulans? If they are a separate group, will they be able to interact with the New Romulus colony?

Does Star Trek Online have a QA (Quality Assurance) team? And if you do why don't they seem to test for things players do on a regular basis like heal their ship's shields and hull, or change their bridge officers, or take a newly released ship into an STF?

Can you please provide some details on what kind of new content the KDF will be getting? And will this now make them "complete" in your eyes, at least in comparison with the other factions? Thanks.

Ok, with the new Romulan Expansion coming we need to address the races allowed as well as new races that need to be added to each faction:

ROMULAN REPUBLIC:
Romulan: Obvious choice
Reman: Obvious choice
Hirogen: Allies of the old regime; some clans may ally with the new republic
Corvallen: Allies of the old regime; some may ally with the new republic
Boslic: The republic needs a race as business savy as the Ferengi (Feds) and Orions (KDF)

FEDERATION:
Denobulan: Way over due
Talaxian: Way over due
Ocampa: Way over due
Edosian: These tripods from the animated series may be related to the Undine, with the latter being Augments

KLINGON EMPIRE:
Chalnoth: A perfect addition to the empire
Arin'Sen: A subject race already
Krisosian: A subject race already

* CARDASSIAN UNION:
When this faction drops it should include:
Cardassian: Obvious choice
Kazon: The Kazon Seska sect would readily ally themselves to the union
Son'a: They allied with the Cardassians and the Dominion during the war by making and supplying ketracel white for them
Tarlac: A Son'a subject race
Ellora: A Son'a subject race

* MISCELLANEOUS:

1) Add hair as an option for female Bolians; the very first Bolian seen on TNG had hair

2) The Debrune: Just as the Romulans split from the Vulcans, the Debrune split from the Romulans and have since vanished. What happened to them and their empire? In Star Trek Nemesis, the spear that Nero carries is a Debrune artifact

Now that your goal is to allow anyone to start as a KDF from level 1 (and that's great news), do you intend to add more non-cruiser KDF ships to the store? And how will you fill the current gap between levels 1 and 25?

With upcoming May release containing bug fixes and new UI tweeks, will they be released earlier than the new content, or will this be another update bomb where you guys release everything at once and sit back and hope the game doesn't implode from bugs ?

Are there any plans on making boff training a bit easier/less trust requiring?

e.g. being able to mail boffs to ourselves to train on another 'toon' and mail back.

Also are there any plans on making it so that 'bound' bridge officers can be trained in "special powers" like an aenar boff being trained with DEM3 etc.

As I know you're not going give more info out just yet on other new content coming as you'll want to release it in dribs and drabs; can I instead ask, how much of the May update (in percentage) was actual announced today?

Will the revised character creator give players access to the retro Gorn skins and colors and will this update remove those from those who currently have them?

Will there be Hirogen available as a playable race within the Romulan faction?

Will there be 3 faction/team PvP and is dealthmatch be released with this new update?

Will DX11 ever be out of beta and will the many issues with the textures under DX11 ever get fixed?

There are still a crapload of bugs in STO. Are there any plans to fix some of more annoying bugs that continue to plague this game (picking up loot decloaking ships for example)?

How are you filling in story for the klingon faction?
If you follow through on with what's on the teaser site, this will have passed my expectations for this update by a lot. Kudos to you guys on this ambitious update.

Hiya dstahl,

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions. Today's announcement is fantastic, and the video/screenshots look amazing! You're obviously very busy, so I'll jump right to it:

1) How excited are you to finally be able to talk publically about STO: Legacy of Romulus aka "The May Update"? Have you lost sleep over not being able to talk about it up until now?

2) Will players with account-wide unlocks such as those from pre-orders/promo-purchases (Amazon Borg BO, Red Matter Capacitor, etc), Tribble Testing goodies (tribbles, DOffs, etc.), LTS Liberated Borg Player Race (will there be a Romulan Lib Borg playable race), Friend Referals (Photo BOff), etc. be available in the new Green Faction? What about Veteran Rewards? Will Romulans have Veteran uniform pieces, a ship-skin, Romulan android, and a 1k ship?

3) How much of the Expansion includes bug fixes and other quality of life improvements for existing characters?

4) Besides a new KDF-only Tutorial, are KDF getting more KDF-only missions to fill out L1-20 in this Expansion? Or are you just shifting everything back to the way it was pre-S5?

5) We know it's Free-to-Play the Expansion, but how much in C-Store purchases do you expect/hope the average player will need to pay in order to get "full benefit" from the new faction? This isn't meant to be derisive, I wish to support the company, and want to have enough cash set aside.

6) Finally, when's it gonna be on Tribble/Red Shirt for testing?!?

Are the three storylines concurrent, or does one take place before the others?

Given the addition of new early missions for Romulans and Klingons using new and improved tech, has any effort been put into further remastering of early Federation missions?

How have featured episodes been used with the new content for the Romulans and Klingons?

What details can you give us about lifetime perks in the new romulan faction?

Now that we're going to have three factions, will there be steps taken to make each faction play and feel distinct from one another? For instance, the ground gameplay is presently identical for KDF and UFP, aside from the small differences that come with racial choices. Will we see faction-specific gear, kits, mechanics, etc that make each seem truly unique?

Who is the "Silent enemy?" Their ships don't resemble Iconian, but do resemble a handful of canon ships (including the unnamed aliens in the episode Silent Enemy). Are the squid robots the same faction? Will they be the only new enemy group we'll be facing in May?

Hello DStahl, thanks for taking the time to read this. Hopefully some of these concerns can be addressed.

-Will the existing cruiser balance issues with the Galaxy-class starships be addressed?

-Will there be adjustments to allow Cruisers to be more effective at tanking and healing?

-What kind of adjustments will be made to the structure of PVP, as a third faction is added to the mix?

-Will we see improvements on server connections? (This is a huge concern for a lot of players, the ominous amount of server disconnects and lagging)

-Will there be options to resolve or reduce "AFK Farmers" in PVP and PVE, but without penalties to players who are disconnected by the game?

-Will the Foundry editor receive an overhaul to allow a much needed grouping and layering feature?

-What kind of content will we be seeing, in respect to Romulan space/ground combat?

Thank you for everything you've done so far, looking hesitantly forward to May 2013.

Getting Denise Crosby to reprise her former role as Tasha Yar was a welcome touch to the new 'Temperal Ambassador' Anniversary mission and I can't wait to see her (or hear her) as Sela in Season 8. You already mentioned your wish to get other Star Trek actors on board to reprise their roles etc. What I would like to know is would you also consider other voice talent beyond Star Trek? Sadly Robin Sachs is no longer with us (he had the gift of the gab!), but what about the likes of others such as John Dimaggio (Bender from Futurama) for example?

1) Will FEDs, KDFs and ROMs be able to team up, i.e. form a group together? Private queues have been very buggy (invite issues, people being kicked upon entering an instance etc.) and are therefore a major source of frustration in the game as of now.

2) When will we see environmental settings in the Foundry, e.g., map checks on EV suits, shuttles, melee weapons or different away team sizes?

3) When will the search functions in the Foundry be improved, e.g., tags for grind/story missions, subscribing to a specific author, or creating a sorted string of multiple Foundry missions?

4) Any chance of seeing new canon enemy species such as the Sheliak, Son'a, Talarians or Tzenkethi any time soon?
