you might wanna parse full STFs and check the dps on different enemies for more understanding. I could take out a few minutes where I would deal 14k DPS, but the overall thing is the real deal

Very Very very nice Vesta Build. I love it . It makes me want to focus on my science toon, respec, and really tune the vesta right. I used to rock the Vesta before I got my mobius on my Tac toon.

You got my brain spinning now lol

I can't believe I get to tell you about something, lol.

http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=268735 has links to both the standard parsers...
Heh. Contrary to popular belief, I am not omniscience. Not to mention I'm a little rusty as prior to S7 I took about 6-7 months off from STO. And I don't think this parser existed back then, it's new to me. So yeah, I can learn too!

    Thanks for schooling me. :)

As with Jadensecura, thanks for the info on the parser, Ferdzso0.

    >blush< Thanks. It's kind of you to say. Give a post to my old thread, would ya (it's ok, it's stickied, so it's not a zombie)? It'll help remind me to refresh the Calc.

    Quick question,

I'm still very new, although I'm flying a vesta.

Does the cutting beam compatible with the Sub-system attacks? I was under the impression that it wasn't so, I had one phaser array as my aft... Basically, using this as a setup... (still grinding)

    FORE:
    3 DHC Aux

    AFT:
    1 Cutting Beam
    1 Harpeng
    1 Polaron phaser array

The cutting beam is not compatible with subsystem targeting.

Which duty officers are you using? I know you mentioned exocomp but what about the others?

Which bridge officer traits are you using? Efficient? Leadership? Romulan crit chance boosting ones?

Kudos for putting time and effort into making the most effective DPS vesta you could, and sharing it on an open forum.

yeah, I forgot to post them, and am not near to the game. anyway, here is what I remember, and will give names laterz :D

    doffs:
gravimetric scientist for aftershock grav well
space warfare specialist for 10% dmg against borg
a jem'hadar doff (I dunno which one is exactly that) for tac team cooldown and attack pattern dmg bonus
a doff to reduce evasive manouvers CD
exocomp for dmg and battery power bonus

    boffs
    2 human
3 sauran with efficient trait (though the more the marrier) or some numbers around this

I have not been experimenting with the new romulan crit boffs, they will be the way to go, but as they are still being balanced, I did not want to invest into them, they cost a fortune

lately I have been running it with full weapons power. it is not rly special, since "I am TRIBBLE the idea of science", but its fun. against tac cubes its not advised to go up against like that, especially since lately I have only been paired with sub 3k DPS beamscorts, so that is not advised, but if you want to boost a bit of your grav wells, you do not lose much of your tanking (short term, you are better at tanking)

I also checked the aux cannons with max aux power, and max weapons. it is a 2k dps loss, which is not that bad, in the grand scheme of things. the tanking with high aux is pretty easy, so loss in shield power is not a problem

still it is a dps none the less, but atleast it can work. (though there is not much point to do it)

yeah, I got around that much too. however there is some high tanking loss in there. the borg engines plus deflectors should help that (borg engines give aux power I think, not sure atm, so you can transfer it to weapon), and if you use the usual maco shields, you would gain some weapon power too when being shot at

nah, not a high tanking loss for me. 125 aux pretty much sets up some sweet healing.

That adapted set is pretty sweet, still get a great structural bonus and good sci abilities boost from deflector

I can solo an eliteSTF cube without much more than a scratch to my hull.

So the Aux DHC is not limited to one per ship like the Quad-Cannon from the Defiant C-Store ship... ???

Had to go look at the new power calc first, now to answer your question. No, the Aux DHCs are not limited to one per ship. It only comes with one, but you can dismiss and reclaim as many times as you like to get more. However, they can only be mounted on a Vesta variant, not on any other ships, so they are limited another way.

Just like getting a "set" of pretty blue phasers from my TOS Connie. That's nice to know. (Only those can be used on any ship, unlike the ADHC.) Got it. Thanks!

I think the aux cannons are only 1/ship as a selling strategy, so many will buy the 3 pack (or even worse, buy all separately after seeing one only has one cannon), as they think they cant get more than one :S
its a smart move from cryptic tho :D

Or it could just be the fact that they always put bizarre default weapons on things. Have you seen the weapons that BoPs come with?

yeah. the temporal ambassador mission was rly bizarre, playing with their setup. I cant believe, they thought such a setup would be useful, lol...

Yeah, they imply that you have to have the three pack to get 3x cannons, even though you can just dismiss and reclaim while pulling the cannons off if you have just one. Granted, it's easier to do it off the three ships if you have ship inventory slots for all three at once.

Yeah, bizarre stuff on most ships, though I've not seen the default on BoPs. I've only seen one ship that came with a turret... It was a Science ship and the turret was in the fore slot... They put a beam array and torps aft as the default layout on most escorts.

I have started to test some alternate weapon setups for the ship, and there is a similar one to this, that seems to be quite more effective in pve, so with the results I should come back next week, as I am talking significant dps increase according to my initial tests

as mentioned above, I started testing the crithx3 disruptor setup for the ship, and it does seem to work for pve. it maybe a less constant high number (500 dps difference downards) it can make up for it. my first test with them, pretty much broke my ise 10k dps record, and later I as I compared all the different games, the increase is coming from the weapons side, and not from stuff like photonic fleet, or my pets. so for pve I would suggest getting crithx3 though they are kinda rare on the market (however not expensive)

it is a work in progress. I was hesitating, because the equipment for it is expensive, and I wanted to save some dili for the new stuff in five days. if its a new faction, I would obviously need to unlock a char slot for it. that is solved tho (unless it will be a paying faction, but then I would not care for it much), I am buying the last rly decisive equipment now (but even then, I am not at the best possible or accaptable state).

at this point it is dealing 8k consistant dps tho, so it should be fine for posting soon (on sunday maybe after I have seen the results with the new stuff)

edit.: first two runs indicate a flat 1-2k dps bonus :)
