TRIBBLE Maintenance and Release Notes - March 15, 2013

zer0niusrexzer0niusrex Member Posts: 0 Arc User
We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
ST.25.20130128a.54

General:
  • Added an additional variant for Fleet Elite weapons to fleet stores.
    • This variant has [Acc]x2[Dmg] and the special Elite proc appropriate to the weapon type.
  • Added more Advanced Fleet weapons to the fleet store.
    • These Advanced Fleet weapons have [Dmg]x2 and [Acc]x2.
    • All Directed Energy types are available.
    • In addition, Advanced Fleet Andorian Phasers are available.
      • These have identical stats to normal Advanced Fleet Phasers, but use the Andorian Phaser visual effects.
      • These weapons can only be purchased by players who own an Andorian Escort.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Bridge Officer version of the Plasma Flamethrower's powers to still display on space maps
  • Existing Andorian Phaser weapons from the Dilithium Store have been renamed to "Prototype Andorian Phasers".
    • These prototype weapons now have the appropriate stats for Mk XI items.
    • This is a slight decrease from their current statistics.
    • This is retroactive for existing equipment.
    • These weapons can be traded in at the Ferengi Collector for the same amount of Refined Dilithium that the weapon initially cost to purchase.
  • Updated Andorian Phasers with appropriate stats for Mark XI are available on the Dilithium store.

Isn't there supposed to be stuff about the Crystalline Entity in these notes?

But you guys made a thread - which you posted in - asking for feedback on a changed version of the CE mission that was coming with this Tribble patch...

So, what are the changes? :)

You'll see when you play it. :)

Also, most of the patch notes for Tribble are for things that are going to Holodeck soon. The CE stuff isn't, so it doesn't really belong. :)

acc2 fleet weapons huh, now thats something more desirable.

ideally the fleet weapons would all be acc2 with x2 for each of the other available mods

You said there will be [Acc]x2 [Dmg]x2 variants of all advanced fleet directed energy weapons. Will there also be [Acc]x2 [Dmg]x2 variants of advanced fleet torpedoes?

That reminds me of a bug: as far as I know, all Mk XII quantum torpedoes on the Exchange are currently mislabeled as MK XI.

That's disappointing to read! I am looking forward to the return of the CE Fleet Action. The sooner you guys get this done without messing more stuff up big time, the better.

I think it's good now that there are variants that have ACCx2, although this does make me a bit more concerned about the eventual proliferation of those special procs in PvP.

Since they're getting a new toy, can I have Fleet Aux Phasers for my Vesta?

And while you're at it, can you fix the MACO Engine graphic FX on the Vesta too?

I am more concerned that the Elite Fleet weapons won't be in every energy type (or so has been rumored), esp for people with Mk XII Purple tactical consoles or even blue since they aren't extremely easy to get. Although those people will probably have weapons about equal in stats (well it depends how powerful the new weapon mod is).

Let me just save you some time here; you might as well delete the [DMG]x2 variants as no one will buy them, simply because [acc] smokes [dmg] in every measurable way. I think you guys know this to a point, hence the glut of [dmg]x2 weapon types for fleet weapons.

Unless they are considerably cheaper, there is just no real reason to get the [Dmg]x2 version over the [Acc]x2 versions. None.

So, I'm guessing since I wasted all my dilithium and fleet creds on my current elite fleet weapons, and now that you're actually coming out with something actually good, that I'm just S.O.L. (Cryptic).

Or are you guys actually going to be good Devs and just change the current elite fleet weapons?

you purchased weapons that weren't bugged or had the wrong stats, unlike the andorian weapons, so yes, you're SOL

I do agree that existing weapons with [Dmg]x3 don't even hold a candle to [Acc]x2 [Dmg] -- Cryptic will be better off simply editing all [Dmg]x3 to [Acc]x2 [Dmg]. This serves 2 purposes:

    1) it cleans up the database of inferior grade items that will see no further use nor sales going forward

    2) early adopters will not be similarly penalized for reaching end-game content sooner than most

    Thank you for your time.

I hope they at least consider my suggestion... those Elite Fleet Phasers were NOT cheap :( And [Dmg]x3 really doesn't belong on Advanced nor Elite weapons given how poorly they perform when compared to lower tier weapons with [Acc]x2 mods.

well, if enough people complain like with the andorian weapons, you might see something similar to what's going to happen with those once this hits holodeck, but those weapons were improperly statted (yes, i know this is not a word; it is now!) and these were intended to have the modifiers they do, so it's unlikely anything will happen with these

All they need to do is get rid of the current elite fleet weapons and replace them with the Accx2 Dmgx2 like they're saying, but it's Cryptic, so it won't happen, 'cus they're cool.

Also, here's my application as to why they should just replace them:

"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”

because before this patch, they were the only choice available for elite fleet weapons; people didn't really have a choice before; now they do

That still doesn't answer the question of why you bought them if you thought they weren't worth the Dilithium.

If there were better weapons in the game then you should have bought those. If there weren't better weapons in the game then you surely made the judgement that the price was worth the extra power.
