So it looks like it's a featured episode series after all, and not the faction everyone is talking about.
why?
its one picture. you cant conclude anything from it. if there is a romulan faction it is only a part of the may update. we know there are story episodes coming in the update, and this may or may not be tied to that, but it does not rule a romulan faction in or out.
I have a feeling it's a new FE - and the romulan text they're now updating every week (it seems as it started last week when the timer went up) are the titles of the FE episodes; thus to date we have:
Episode 1 title: "March Beneath The Raptor's Wings"
Episode 2 title: "Our Shadow Will Dim The Stars"
Episode 3 title: "Some Will Fall"
with two more to come....:D

These teasers are no doubt for the Featured Episode Arc; one that is focused on Romulans (probably D'Tan and his people accidentally opening that gateway and unleashing all kinds of hell).
Suffice to say, we've learnt one very important thing today: Women in the 25th Century need to have their shoes removed before being rescued. :P

Remember how many of us thought Vulcan phaser-lady (T'Arget is one name I heard for her) looked like she was ready to trip in her shot? Well, looks like she actually fell, bonked her head, and needed a rescue because the person she was about to shoot at but wasn't actually aiming at called in a plasma-napalm airstrike (delivered via Scorpion fighters, can I have that as a support ability?) and set all the rocks on fire. Luckily, "handsome phaser guy" was there to rescue her, after either performing some weird foot-oriented first aid or removing her burning boots that the plasma-napalm put on fire...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

I don't know who made the pictures for the teaser site, but congratulations to him (or to them, they might not be only one doing them).
Anyway, this third image reminds me a lot of Starcraft 2 ending, when Jim Raynor exits the Zerg cave with the now [almost] cured Kerrigan in his arms. Funny how this came to me as Heart of the Swarm is coming in the next few days x)

Maybe the phaser took off the other two when she fell into her shot, prior to napalm boots.
